  • Finally an S80II D5

    I just have to share my joy and enthusiasm. I have been looking for a nice S80 II for a few years now, just until recently it shouldn’t be yet. Every time I let myself get carried away, something different/smaller to buy. But now it was time. On Friday I picked up my S80 II from the dealer. Although it is a little older and does not have the mega equipment, but it was attractive and technically and optically very well maintained for its mileage of just under 180tkm. The motorization also hits me from the stool. The D5 in conjunction with the 6-speed manual transmission allows very comfortable and powerful movement. As a meaty Volvofan and driver I simply couldn’t leave it at the dealer’s after the test drive. It was a bit difficult to hand over my C30 DrivE but it was worth it. Really a super car. Volvo halt

  • Cooling water loss via valve cover

    Hello together I’m just in the glamorous south of France and I found during oil level control earlier that in the area of the balance tank everything looks a little splashy, dried. Water level is still a little bit above min, but usually this is always at the seam of the tank. I never had to refill it. By the way, my mixture is reddish, which obviously is not the right one. Temperature display shows the same as always. Can this be related to the monkey heat? What to do now? Just watch? Fill up? Get a mixture of water or red again? Thank you for your help! bno

  • Purchase decision XC70 P2 or P24

    Hello, I need your advice or your assessment / experience about the XC70 D5 AWD: I’m an absolute newcomer in terms of Volvo. I’m looking for a Volvo XC70 and I’m still swarming back and forth between the first generation (BJ 2004-6/2007) or the second gene (from 2007-2009). Don’t need a lot of snappy equipment, and just want a heightened combination with all-wheel and high-quality materials that I can drive for a long time. 30k a year. The question is, would you rather say that the older models have better / higher-quality materials installed (i.e. motor / gears etc.) or are there almost no differences between 1. & 2. Gen? Find price-wise they give almost nothing if you want to spend around the 5-8T€ so you can find from 220T km which are in the price class. The consumption should be even lower for the older ones, which is noticeable on any case also at 30Tkm a year. Would you be happy if you could give me some tips / advice Alex!

  • Immediate discharge of new starter battery

    Hello, thank you so much for your time to read this text and maybe help me. it’s about an XC70 model 2011 AWD D5 good equipment (consumers are meant) etc. Stand heater, which is hardly used and not at all in the last months. The vehicle was built for the Swedish market and has a permanent evening light, which can not be impressed with the running engine by the switch position of the light 0, I, II. In principle no problem and over the years became a habit. – In 09/2018 a Hyperbolis 90AH starter battery was installed, seems to have been the first exchange, – In 04/2019 was carried out by technical workshop tire change, vehicle had to be taken off, – until 02/2021 no messages about battery condition were shown, – 02/2021 vehicle jumps at -12C normal and remains after approx. 15m. Several start attempts are still successful, but the car basically does not move any more and then gives me ruffled up. – 02/2021 exchange of the battery against a Varta Silver Dynamic 85AH has not been installed and rehearted on the battery. In case of the battery has already been taken a good time.

    Moin together, I’d like to know if you had or have had a problem with your Volvos due to the negative degree. For example, my electric tailgate is currently spinning. If I open the moose, the tailgate will open at the same time. Then I want to close it, but it always opens. I have now taken out the corresponding fuse in the trunk and now wait for thaw weather. My friend thinks that there is something frozen and I should wait until the frosty temperatures are over and then everything should funnel again.   • Scandinavia Tour 2009

    Moin, had already mentioned my tour this year, but wanted to publish the pictures separately. Of course I am travelling with my elk. I have for the first time in my life the luck to be able to take a longer vacation. On the way I am now since the 18.9. by car went to Stockholm from there by ferry to South Finland. I spent the first 3 weeks there with nothing. Half the time my friend gave me company. For 3 days went to St. Petersburg (with elk back AND). Since the 11.10. I am now really on tour. First I went by car train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi. The first days up there were the tempartures up to -16°. Amazingly that there the SH ran there without problems! Further went over the NW from Finland to Tromso in Norway. The last two days I spent in a beautiful valley in Norway near Finland. Now I am going to the North Cape. From there I went to the NO Norways, maybe with a visit to Murks, and at the beautiful side of Finland a few of them.

  • Only black/white image at Video IN….

    Hi… I’ve been using the Video-Breakin-Box for the video display on the Volvo RTI-TFT from Volvotech.eu for some time now. Link: Link to the Video-Breakin-Box Runs great with my return camera. Now I wanted to connect to the free 2nd video input a small multimedia player with TV-Out. Have mine from England, here the link to another auction… same part: Link: Link to the Card-TV-Player The part has a CVBS(Composite Video Broadcast Signal) output. The Video-Breakin-Box has a Comp RCA input (RCA=Cinch). So should be compatible. The picture is also nicely sharp.. only it remains black-and-white!! In the system menu I have already put the signal type on PAL. NTSC does not show any image. Further image changing settings (except color adjustments, Saturation etc) there is no problem. if someone asks about it. the black/white image does not result in the color control… So what can switch the device in between?

  • STC -> Upgrade DSTC? (again)

    Hello, now I bought it yesterday, the V70-II (8/2001). However, he only has STC, if you believe the switch in the interior. (According to the manual, the “DSTC” would have to display.) Now, of course, I would like ESP, i.e. DSTC, for security reasons. The search in the net and in the forum on conversion was “relative” without results, there were only the statements here in the forum that it probably was not economically useful, since no pure software update.   • Relay for rear window heating Opel Omega A Caravan

    Hello, could someone please tell me where the relay for the rear window heating is sitting at the Opel Omega A Caravan bj.88, 2.0 (Schl. No. 0039-685)? When I press the switch, it lights up briefly yellow (part of a second) and then extinguishes again after a click on the left side of the steering wheel.In the switch box there are up (1st row) 3 black relays, the 4th connection to the right is bridged (apparently from factory) and on the right in the 2nd row from above a smaller grey relay. One is still sitting in the engine compartment under a black cap. From the driver’s seat left under the disc. Nobody can help me, not even a Opel contract workshop. The vehicle is “too old”. But it is in a great condition, LPG has got inside and in November 2011 TÜV without any defects.
