Winter tyres or all-yearly tyres for an XC70 BJ 06
Hello, yesterday was with my friend regarding winter tyres for my new used XC70. The car currently has all-year tires on the rims and my friend thinks that the car would drive with these best. Since I learned then that one should have winter tyres and in summer summer tyres on it, I am a bit confused. Not, the all-year tires are bad, but I think that one did not invented summer or winter tires for nothing. What do you mean? Thank you for your answers Greeting Volvokalla

Biite um (technique)tips for 6000km travel
Hello everyone! For three months I have had a V70 2.4T, MY 2001, Automatic, Premium and am completely satisfied. At the same time I read here in the forum and I am happy about the increase in knowledge and the nice contributions. Now I thought I could use the accumulated knowledge of the forum members: We want to next spring possibly with the elk from Berlin to Portugal, have 3 months time (parent time….) and want to make various stopovers with friends in D, F and ES, therefore the idea to drive with the elk. My question: What should I take with me (for the car)? The car is actually check booklet maintained, has new tires, the brakes incl. disks have to be made and I want to have them made before. Bin ADAC Plus member, because the starter has already gone out last month (and I stood with the automatic in Brandenburg….). A thousand thanks in advance for all tips and suggestions, the forum here really great (have already placed the “clapping” door panels quiet after instruction). Best greetings, Mark

Who currently bought an XC 90 ? Not in leasing !
Hello, my XC 90 is supposed to be exchanged and actually I had already said goodbye to Volvo inside because there is no successor. I actually didn’t want the current model, because I have it in principle (O.K., I don’t have the last facelift). Nevertheless, the XC 90 doesn’t let me go, because I think it’s an ideal concept. I would only like to have the whole thing at a newer level. Maybe the price can motivate me to say yes again to the XC 90 (possibly I tend to the MB GL 320, but it’s already very expensive……). Has someone bought an XC 90 lately and if yes, what a drop on the list is given? O.K. the question is not gladly seen (…but go to the dealer himself … etc.), but I have no chance to come to the usual opening hours to the dealer. The money wants to be earned in order to be able to buy such a car. Also, I don’t want to wait forever for the last price (it takes about 2 – 3 visits to the dealer) but I don’t want to buy the last 5 years.

3.2 Ribbed belt torn
Hi, I was just torn by the wedge ribs…. Normal road trip, battery light went on, sevo set off (as I already knew^^). Still about 1km drove until finally a stop was possible. The engine temp. went very quickly into the red area… turned off and I heard the cool water splashing… ran out at the front right behind the wheel, so directly under the cool water tank. Think that it is still open over an overpressure valve is still pressure on the cooling circuit. Does the water pump run from 3.2v6 also over the wedge ribs? Think it was on the tension roll (marked red on the photo).

D5: error codes 6661 and 6588
N’Evening on all sides, I have been driving a V70 II D5 AWD for years and have been happy with 230000 self-propelled Kilmometers since now. Overall, he has now nearly 260000km down. For a few days I have been getting the error message “Motor system maintenance required” with a yellow triangle in the BC. There are also days when it does not occur. Now I was at the workshop of my trust (not a Volvo representative, but a free one) and we looked into the error memory once. In the engine control the errors 6661 and 6588 are stored. (The computer of the workshop says to both “unknown errors”, both can not be deleted). After inquiries from Mr. Google is probably 6661 the glow plug of the first cylinder – so actually nothing dramatic, I will let it happen on occasion. But to the code 6588 there is simply nothing to be found…. Can someone bring light into the dark here?

Small balance: the first 1000 kilometres with the XC90
Hello together, after our Dicker (D5) has moved in with us on Nikolaustag, we have reached the first 1000 km in the last days. Below in short form my (our) previous experiences: + Relaxed driving + Pleasant engine noise, likable grumble + Good all-round view + Very good space + Very good light + RTI navigation + Engine power and power development good + Consumption on distance 8.2 l + Haptik – turning circle in need of getting used to – USB port does not work (yet) with USB stick Overall we can give our XC90 a very good testimony and are happy about the purchase. Greetings Robert

SLK 32 AMG
Hello together, think with just from my SLK 230 to the SLK 32. If someone has experience with the change or on what you have to pay special attention to with the SLK 32 AMG, or how are your experiences with the vehicle. Ride the SLK only as a fun car and that for years. As an alternative to the SLK 32, cer SLC 43 AMG would be an option, am only not sure if there is a lot of driving fun on the track through the whole assistance systems etc. I’m curious how the topic is generally considered.

Doesn’t turn on anymore?
I drove backwards out of the driveway, he already called a little bit, as well as then driving on! I came about a kilometer far, he somehow could not switch in the automatic. So I tried to switch normally. He stayed in the second gear and didn’t let himself go, sounded like I was driving in the first gear? So I drove in the middle of the dark Pampa into a driveway. At the stop it was as if I had released the clutch (as with a normal circuit too quickly and strangled off.On neutral and foot on brake I started again…on N position he tried somehow to switch still jerk around and didn’t switch up or down. Does all lights also feel twice eco? Is the gearbox/coupling broken? On N position only with ignition he let himself push on the pkw trailer. Maybe someone knows what my smart car has.
