  • Headlamp cleaning system does not exit

Hello, I have a small problem: My headlight cleaning system (on both sides) no longer works. At first I thought of “frozen” (was quite cold and somehow the vehicle was also so, that the parking beepers didn’t go in front for 2 days, because iced up). Meanwhile, however, we have the 3rd day in a row with plus temperatures (and from the outside I don’t see any ice or anything). I wanted to look for the fuses, but I didn’t find anything in the description that could fit here. Does anyone know which fuse that would be or what it might be? Greetings Johannes

  • Presentation of my new Phaeton – MH-Husky

Hello, I finally found the way to my Phaeton. I lost sight of it for a few years and/or waited for the right moment. Now this moment has come. I have bought a Phaeton 3.0 TDI BJ 2011 (short) with close-up full equipment. This vehicle will accompany me for the next years, mainly on my daily distance of about 70 km. This office he takes over from my S 500 4M which is mainly used for beautiful days, respectively in the warmer season. One question has already from my side, where do I get beautiful, thick (very soft) foot mats for the Phaeton? Many greetings Marcel

  • GP3 V6 – suddenly gear shocks and late switching

Good evening dear Forumians, my Diva (V6 TDI, GP3, BJ 2011, 158 tkm) was hardly driven between Christmas and New Year and last week, when everyday life began, starting to harden both in cold and warm conditions (small noticeable bumps and quasi “think customers” incl. R and N). The previous owner received a flushing according to TE method in November 2019, 12 L Fuchs ATF 608 and ZF Filter Kit. Does anyone have a recommendation for me before a swap orgie starts? Thank you!

  • New XC 90 from 2009 Contribution in Auto Bild Allrad

Have I bought the new car picture Allrad today. Here you can find a report about the new XC 90 which should come from 2009 ?? According to the car picture also in the engine range a 6-cylinder diesel with up to 250 hp (!!!) offers. Whether it is true -would be nice. I like the styling very well only the rear does not fit in the proportions. Unfortunately no pictures from the interior. Does anyone still know something about this new car ?? Otherwise look and comment Beautiful weekend of Fly 7000

  • strange smell

Hello I recently bought a C70 convertible with the 193hp engine. Now I found out after a ride that it smells strange. (Only outside, from inside you can smell nothing) it smells like a mixture of burnt rubber and clutch. I can’t really define it. After a few minutes of standstill, the smell then vanished again… Now I’m thinking about what that might be. I’ve tried to find out the origin of the smell. The only thing I noticed is the container of the servo oil. That’s all around the lid and the tank seam completely watered. And yes, the oil smells a little bit like that strange smell. Can that be the reason? You smell this biting smell after a ride around the car, my wife asked me from 2-3m distance, what smells there… Ohso the smell only comes after a few km… The longer the distance, the more intense the smell. I’ve made two photos of the servo oil container. Maybe you have an idea, I’m happy about every hint from experienced Volvo drivers Daniel/B.

  • Lubricating gaskets = Miracle agents

Hello, since my C70 had squealed the seals of the side windows, I thought that I should lubricate them. My mechanic colleague said that I should smear all the seals (also of door and roof) with silicone grease. So I did that and what should I say: All crackling and squeaking noises are passé!! Now there is really silence inside with closed roof. Always thought, the noises are just because it is a convertible. Now I will repeat this every 6 months. Vlt. helps one or the other. Dear greetings from the convertible weather Schwiiiz Peter

  • What brake for the V50?

Hello, I just signed up and am accordingly new here, but I already have the first question. I got new Bremdisks and blocks in front about 5 months ago, because the discs had a hit. Well, after 4 weeks in Scandinavia and 8.000km the brand new brake discs have a hit again and it slags like crazy with every braking. I guess just as layman that the discs got too hot. Since this is now the second set, I would be slightly different from the standard discs the third time. My father in this case advised me to turn to Zimmermann brake discs, which should also cause problems on some cars. Now I don’t know what it looks like with the V50. Do you know which discs are possibly to be recommended, which are also more resistant than the standard ones? I hope I could explain the problem with sufficient details and would be pleased with an answer.

  • Battery defective due to heating?

Hello all, in my 2.6 FL-Omega the battery is shot down after just 2 years. What bothers me is that the battery is a “high-quality” expensive Varta. I measured everything (LIMA, charge controller), so far everything is I.O. My guess: Because my better half and I use the Webasto stand heating extensively, it may be that the frequent use of the same goes on the life of the battery?

  • Which alternator fits a 3.2 V6 from 2003

Hello people, I have been looking for light machines at ebay and found you somewhat uncertain about the many light machines. I asked myself at vw which light machines I need exactly….Answer…. 07c903018x …..but now I have found another 3021G in the end has instead of 3018X which is also a lot cheaper. Has someone made the experience with it whether this model of the light machine with the 3021G also fits my Pheaton. Thanks in advance ??

  • Indecisive 2.4 petrol engines or D5 (185 hp) for the city (V70II)?

Now just before the final purchase decision, I doubt. I wanted a V70 II D5 with 185 hp so far. I drove and everything is good. Now I mainly drive short distances in the city and only 2 -3 times a month times 50 kilometers at a time. I like the diesel engine and the consumption in the city (but not the taxes to be paid and I drive only about 15000km a year). Now the engine does not reach almost its optimal operating temperature with my driving mode. As I understood it would therefore be useful (even in the summer) to run the stationary heating (if available) before driving. If the question is whether a petrol engine would not be “reasonable” after all… What do you think?
