  • Weeping at the 1.0 VSG TSI

Hello people Have my Arona now for 10 days. Already on the 2nd day I noticed at 50km/h a howling, high Surren. It sounds like this when starting up and becomes with increasing speed always higher. Not dependent on speed. Under load It is not audible but in the plane with cruise control. At higher speed it disappears rather in the driving noises, but I can now still perceive it at 125km/h. Sounds a bit like if an electric motor was still installed… It already bothers me a little bit, especially because I drove another demonstration car 3 days ago and it sounds the same. Workshop thinks it’s normal. Did your cars do that? I tried to record it, but it’s too quiet…

  • Leaked driver’s door

Hello We bought us about 2 months ago an almost new (300km) Arona. When we drove the first time through the washing machine fell on me the water pressure. Of course we informed the dealer. First it was called the door had to be re-set but for that one would need an appointment. At the appointment itself it was then the door would be dislocated. As much as you can not set it anymore. I would probably be responsible for the door would be too far open On the door itself there are no scratches / damages to see. Now the question would not have to grip the warranty (reverse load of evidence) The damage would be covered by our comprehensive if we had caused it but to pay a new door without being to blame I do myself hard. Does there perhaps someone experience? With the dealer I am still in contact Thank you for your help.

  • The appearance deludes: cooling water vs. oil temperature

Some of you will have noticed it already: you just drive around the next corner after the cold start, and the Arona gets warm – but only with regard to the cooling water temperature. I have seen today how long it takes now, i.e. in the summer, until the oil of my 1.5 TSI Evo has a usable temperature. At a maximum of 2,000 rpm it took 15 minutes to get the oil to a limp 50° C. Conclusion: Who thinks you can after the temperature display In the tachometer (analog cockpit) at 50% already heat on the highway and turn up fully, far missing – or in other words: better not. In my attempt today the oil had only after 20 minutes and slowly increased speed to 110 km in the 6th gear, the normal operating temperature of 90-100° C

  • R-Class or E-Class T model?

Hello everyone, I think about buying a new (used) car in the spring. I’m currently driving a C 200 TK and a 190 E 1.8 Sportline….. I would like to keep the W201 and want to put myself a nice family car…. Now the question is which one……. Actually it should become an E-Class S 211… (possibly a mopf) but now I have found that the R-Class with petrol engine is already “right” cheap (diesel I don’t have to have 10 tkm. But then I found that the short R (is my “better half” already almost too big) actually offers little space for its dimensions back. We would have to get our son and a big, as well as a small dog for a holiday ride…. (Dachbox I take as well as so with…..) Is the R big enough? Who also has “experience values with the R 350 bzg. Fuel consumption for me ….??? The E seems to be “clearly” bigger in the interior… For the R speaks abe r also the 4-matic (e.g. skiing vacation) Besides, you don’t see the R so often… .. Greetings Markus

  • Questions about the R320

So, the order is in the system. R320CDI Kurz. Now it’s about “refine” the equipment. The best of all wives and I naturally have different views, so we need the help of the forum now. Interior equipment: I tend to sports pack with Alcantara black, I just like it; woman wants leather beige or grey. Question: How easy to care for is the Alcantara/Artico combination in everyday life? CHILDREN!! Color outside: The red metallic has really charm. ltag, has someone the color and can still see it? Toys: We ordered the Airmatic. Is it really as good as the seller told us. Entertainment: Ordered is the DVD screen at the back. Advice at DC was hopelessly bad. Does anyone know if you can play the sound about the command? General quality: What awaits and in everyday life? Greetings Elchfan65

  • Conversion MX 5 NA Miata 1.8 l , 131 hp

Hello all, In my Miata built in 1994, 1.6 l , 115 hp the engine has to be replaced due to an engine damage. Can you now install a 1.8 l engine of a Miata with 131 hp instead of the 115 hp engine. I already know that the brakes and the exhaust must also be replaced. But what about the wire harness. Does this have to be changed too? If the conversion is complete, a single acceptance would then be carried out at the TÜV. for the answers.

  • possibly NB newcomer – some questions

A friendly hello to everyone and all the best for the new year. I have been reading here for quite a while and have already experienced a lot. It’s about the following. My bengel bought a NB in the spring. He needed a replacement car at short notice and it offered itself from the acquaintance circle suddenly. I then tested before and could not find anything negative. So he bought it and moved it until late autumn. Now he should be sold again. The test drive has mic h infected and I actually want to take it over. But I’m still unsure in a few places so that I don’t put a “laus” in the fur. It’s an NB from 1998. A 1600 with 110 hp and optically and then from driving quite ok. Now I know from the forum here, his biggest enemy is the rust. I still have to look at that. – What does it look like with the engine? The car has now almost 200Tkm down. As far as I have read here are the uncritical and cross-country skiers, if they are to some extent infected and I want to take it over. -Does the engine have a chain or a timing belt? What is the change interval? -What engine oil has to be in there and with what good experiences? – Do you get wear parts in the net or do you have to buy everything from Mazda? – Do you have a hint / hint on what I should still look at? Greetings rudi

  • Underfloor stiffening – buy butterfly brace in the USA. Who participates in a collection order

Hello MXler. I would like to treat my NB this underbody stiffening, called Butterfly Brace. It should be clearly noticeable and, since stainless steel, probably longer durable than the car. I looked at the installation video. Should one also be able to get there as a non-mechanic. Now the shipment from the USA with around 140 E is nevertheless happy. Does anyone interested in a collection order? Here is the offer at ebay USA: http://www.ebay.de/…/111501663642?… Happy Christmas I wish everyone! Gerald

  • MX 5ND battery handling in winter during season vehicle

Hello together, I own a Mazda MX5 ND and have registered this as a season vehicle. Since I do not move the vehicle in winter, the battery should be “maintained” via a maintenance charger. Now there seems to be some special features with the ND 160PS motor mi I-Eloop / I-Stop technology. I asked two car dealerships for advice and received 3 opinions 🙂 – a recommendation from Mazda regarding battery maintenance is still pending. Can anyone give me a tip on this? Requirements: Vehicle is in the carport without power access, battery is not in operation from November to April and should be “peeled / spared”, so that it will not be discharged or damaged. Thank you very much!
