  • Absence of extremity

    Dear members At Landrover Austria, I have surmounted the meaning of the retractable exterior mirror. If this feature is set, both lower when the return journey is made! Exterior mirror. What does not seem very useful when parking in a longitudinal gap on the right side of the road, because this clearly does not show the flow in the exterior mirror. On my repeated request, Landrover will not change this with a possible software update soda ss as with other brands also – e.g. VW – when inserting the return walk only the right exterior mirror sinks to the set position. Too bad that such an elitist traditional brand like Land Rover is so unfelxible!!! Maybe this peculiarity could also be practiced by others?! LG

  • Starlet ’92: Thermostat changed, but…

    I changed the thermostat yesterday with a 92 starlet, because the display did not come out of the quark. Success: Actually no one at all. The display still does not go beyond a quarter, but for that it is now smoking after the warm-up from the cooler (probably from the lid). I read here always from “installation position”. But what is the correct installation position? Since the old thermostat from d before I could look, I have now just inserted this moving pin from the front seen vertically upwards, in the hope that this should be the indicator for the top. Was that right? And what happens actually (or not) if you use the thermostat incorrectly? Besides, I wonder where the shut-off valve for the heating is sitting. This heats only when you push the lever GAAAAANZ to the right. If you even just a few millimeters after left, it blows cold again. For answers I would be grateful (even if today probably not so many will be here…), because the car should run again on Monday….. Cheers New Year, I just say 🙂 Greeting Turbo

  • Repair air conditioning automatic type 1 ex Chrysler from the USA

    Hello SL 107 owner, I have, like many other owners of a USA import, the old Chrysler air conditioning system with the infamous heating servo in the engine room. This part was broken with me, like many others. I then repaired it a year ago provisionally elaborately. (Did I describe in the Motor Talk if anyone cares) However, he has now acknowledged his service again. This proved to be very nice again by the fact that the servo motor did not enter the parking position I decided to take some money in my hand and repair the entire system. There are basically four possibilities: 1.) The sad : Selling a car 🙂 The most affordable : All (almost all) vacuum lines Throw out bridges, air-conditioning servo, build in hot water lines bridges and a manual valve (see Mercedessource) —> I don’t think a R107 is worthy ;-). 3.) A new, outdated (Alubody) Order servo ex USA, is at 400-1000 € + tax, advantage : again original, disadvantage: in x years you are again on this page :-D. 4.) Order the electronic solution from Mercedesfix (you can also order from Unwiredtools, but then costs the double !). This replaces the vulnerable amplifier AND the servo. I decided for option 4.. Price : almost 400$ with transport + 45 € tax. Delivery time approx. 2 weeks The parts arrived today (joy), the one construction instruction is extensive and well described. Is not a witchcraft ;-). I will take care of it and report on it on the weekend.

  • the driver’s door… and he’s drinking too

    Hello people! Unfortunately, the search is not going to be right anymore.. find nothing else on the net.. 🙁 With my x20xev caravan I have noises at the door. This is especially pronounced on bad roads…sounds as if it was a bit loose or not right, but is only “upside” at the door between roof and door frame. I have already used a rubber care spray, but that only lasted days…. Can’t describe it badly… 😉 My FOH is not capable….there you can probably not use any m achen… ;-( Can I re-create it somehow? (Maybe at the catch hook in the frame?) And then the so 11-13 liters (partly city and 3 times a week 15km highway) swallows. Isn’t it normal or?? I don’t heize, try to change something by defensive driving on the verbauch… does nothing 🙁 Do you also have the famous cracking noise (but don’t find a crack)…or can a broken AGR cause such a loud diesel noise??!??? How do I check that? Thanks for your help … Tipone

  • 2.5 Upgrade DTI to stand-alone heating

    Hello, Does anyone know if there is an easy way for the Eberspächer heaters in the Omega 2.5 DTI to upgrade the whole thing to a stationary heating system? Do you know that of various vehicles with Webasto heaters. The Webasto devices then only have to be wired with an extra control unit so that the whole funkt. Then you can heat by remote control or timer or just ventilate. The latter is also not bad in the summer 🙂 Thanks already for your answers

  • Automatic air conditioning spins over 200

    Hello guys, the other day I drove our leeeere A20 again from Lübeck. Always nice between 200 and the end (220-230 … uphill – downhill …) [yes – everything according to Tacho]. Since it wasn’t exactly warm, I turned on heating. But somehow my air conditioning system blew through time and again really cold air – after 5 minutes it was warm again. It was always 25 degrees on both sides! Then I drove time just under 200 – everything was OK –> and again dr about it started again … what can this be about? To all those who believe I want to fuck them up: It’s completely serious!!! Many times one of you has something like that … Thanks in advance Tom-off-McPomm

    Moin, I start my training in September and would like to finance a VW Up (36 monthly rates á 70Euro or so) and at the same time take out the cheap car insurance with VW (I heard that you can insure your car for 50Euro a month, have my driver’s license not yet 24 months and would also pay half) Now I found the side car-der-frau.de yesterday, on which you apparently get more percent than with any car dealer .   • Which rims fit my Leon?

    Hello forum, bought a Leon St last weekend, in black. He stood there on summer bikes. I negotiated that I get new winter tires on the Alus(Winterfest) and the summer rubbers in the trunk are included( Sind Michelin sport, 2 of 2019 with very good profile, 2 of 2017 with almost 6mm profile) Now I need aluminium rims for the summer and the offer kills me. What I don’t want to know, completely black rims. We don’t see any difference to cheap wheel caps or steel rims from a distance. I don’t know what size. 17 or 18 inches. I get a few suggestions here. What are you driving on your black Leons like? Would be very grateful for your advice. Here is a picture of my future and of rims that I like fast.
