  • RAV4 Quality Rearview Camera

    Hi, we are today a RAV4 PHEV test drive. Fully equipped – it really convinced us everything. Very pleasant to drive. With us only the economic question arises, whether the extra charge for the PHEV would be worthwhile, because we have a lot of short distance (working path 3km) in everyday life and we have to weigh whether it would not also a full hybrid do. What I noticed during the test drive: the car had a very bad return camera! Since it rains The picture was rather pixelated and the lines were the same. We have already driven a few other cars and with no one (except Opel Grandland) there was such a bad picture. Recently we were in the USA and had a RAV4 as a rental car, but it had a much better resolution. The dealer could not give me precise information and clarified it. Did we have a “mountain model” or did the RAV4 have a we What a bad camera?

  • RAV4 Bj 2005, last key lost with transponder: ECU EEPROM “Virgin” file searched

    Hello, unfortunately, a family member has lost all keys with transponder to the vehicle. (The last one probably disposed of with the household garbage) The car is standing on the yard and is open. Since the key shells were broken quite often, however, fortunately still a key beard exists without transponder. I have now already had 3 keys cut back and got the matching transponders (Texas Crypto 4D67). Not learning keys without an existing key and wants about 2,000 euros for completely new electronics. According to my research, it should be possible to reset the EEPROM in the ECU “virginalize” and then learn new keys. Electronic knowledge from the Z80 era is still available, as well as an Eeprommer and an electronic soldering piston. Since the Eeprom could not be read out on the board (also not with inactivated clock chip of the ECU ) I have it shorthand Unfortunately, there was nothing more useful on it. (I guess, a “resetting method” (bridge in ODB2 port Pin 4 waiting for 13, 30min) seems to have deleted everything, but new keys cannot be learned.) But the Virgin file I’m dealing with seems to be wrong. It’s only at address 0x0B8 the byte sequence(hex) FB DF 5A 69. No keys can be learned … Does anyone have a working Virgin dump for this ECU ? Or can I learn the keys at a reasonable price? Or another idea? Best regards Markus

  • When windscreen change windscreen wiper axis is broken!

I have the following question: I drove to the workshop with my Seat Leon 1P this morning because of a large rockfall in the WSS (have it reported to the TK insurance company) to have the disk changed and should pick up the car again at 5pm. Now the car is finished and the disk changed. But now comes on! If the left screw of the windscreen wiper axle is so stuck that it was necessary to break it, then you can’t change the disc! In other words, you have to remove the entire axle to change the disc. So you had to break the axle, although it was not defective! So the boss ordered this axle, got it delivered within a few hours and after he installed the disc, installed the new axle. So far so good! But now I should pay the axle, with wool I’d just have to change the disc! So I’m supposed to pay the 150€ SB issued with the insurance AND the axle that had to break the workshop to be able to change the disc! Question: Do I have to pay this axle now or does the workshop have to cover the cost of the axle?
