  • massive rust infestation; need tips for argumentation

    a strong hello to everyone! … I have a “lieblingstante”, which drives a c180 meanwhile the car is 8 years and 2 months the service booklet is exemplary, every service was made at dc, maximum 500km deviation to date 80% of the km performance was done in the city area now the car is covered by rust bubbles at the driver’s door at the bottom left at both front wheelboxes at the trunk cover the last service was made in februar 2009 5 days ago the car was at home e washed and polished and there were the rust spots discovered 2 days later we are with the car to the “friendly” that have kept the car for a day, cleaned, polished again, cleaned inside and then were taken pictures; today came the telephone agreement that the rust story “comes from the outside”, so no kulanz if it really is so, then “shit happens” there should be arguments, then please tell me this with ps.: I once had a r5-gt-tur bo; he only had rust after 10 years; I am of the opinion that a daimler should be stainless for as long …. and if that is “normal”, then cheers;

  • Hyundai i30N with DKG (automatic)

    Hello, I like the I30N very much. All around a successful package at a very attractive price and 5 years warranty. Hyundai is also top in reliability. But unfortunately the I30N does not have an automatic. However, this is a K.O.-criterium for me. A few months ago there was a rumor that there should be the i30N also with a DKG in 2019. Then the i30N would be very interesting. Is there something new? GTI, Megane RS and in autumn also the Focus ST are available with automatic. Renault also gives 5 years warranty, but only up to 100T kilometers. That’s too short for me. With Ford you get at least at extra cost even 7 years warranty. Is probably at the price level of Megane RS. That would be OK. VW just takes completely excessive moon prices at high susceptibility and is thus virtually out.

  • Start radio with ignition

    So, as you can already read at the headline, I would like to know how to connect the radio, so it starts automatically when you turn the ignition key around??? I have a 3 Golf GT and a JVC radio!!!

  • R18Winter tyres 18′

    Moin, after my standard tyres the profile slowly gets worse I would like to get a set of new tyres. Currently I have M+S tyres on it, G500 BJ 2015, special model “Edition 35” size 265/60 R18 110H my Mercedes dealer proposes me Conti 4×4 winter contact of the same size. is planned for the next years also a winter Sweden tour, for the summer I would prefer to get tyres with more profile e.g. AT on an extra set of rims. My questions: 1) Has e iner already experience with the tire? 2) the dealer says that I would be bound to the size, since it is explicitly entered in my papers, other sizes (e.g. 16′ would not be possible due to exhaust gas values..? 3) he sells only tires with the snowflake+mountain symbol… to all year round tires he proposes Pirelli… in the search function some swear on winter tires, others are satisfied with MS tires…

  • My G, on the way to H approval

    Beautiful good day to the community, I have been a silent observer in the community for some time and since the beginning of this week proud owner of a 250 GD. Here are some pictures of my new baby. The goal for the next few months is to eliminate the so far manageable defects one after the other and then to give him a nice H at the end of the label. Therefore, be sure to have the one or other question to the community over the next few months & happy 1st question is probably the most unpleasant question: The G is first in my underground garage, until it is then taken apart in a man’s sky. As soon as it is finished, it comes back into my underground garage. I measured the driveway of the underground garage before, of course, to check if the G fits in at all. However, the G has a retrofitted roof rack, which was of course not planned by me, so I am missing current l almost 2-3 cm to get into my underground car park. Currently I have grobstollen tires on the G. –> 225/75 R16 I would like to switch to normal road tires anyway, so the question arises if I could win with another road tire in about 5cm. I am grateful for any help 🙂 Thanks already to everyone.

  • Problematic noise in the engine

    Hello together, I have a persistent problem with my B14XER and hope that someone here in the forum might have had a similar experience or have an idea what it might be. To the problem: There is a grinding noise that occurs to my hearing about half engine speed. The entire secondary drive has already been renewed, including climate compressor and alternator. If I take off the belt, the noise will continue to persist. It sounds short grinding a The crankcase ventilation as well as some other components have already been changed, but the noise remains. That makes me rather perplexed. Interestingly, I have heard this noise already on several Corsa models, but I have not yet found a clear diagnosis. Has any of you had similar experiences or an idea where the problem might lie? I would be for ever Thank you! Here is a video https://youtube.com/shorts/wQ-1aCfsoFc?si=d3pudB9lfkG31Njw Best regards

  • 3 warning lights on and (hand) brake spins : ESP, tyre pressure, engine control+CODE 94

    Dear Opel specialists have (unfortunately) abolished my reliable MERIVA A (2009) 5 weeks ago and exchanged a more modern MERIVA B (2013) from an ex-colleague – and apparently caught a Monday car. First for 3 weeks everything was fine, then what squeaked in the engine room – which meanwhile turned out not to be a broken LiMa or WaPu, but as a defect on the membrane in the valve cover, which apparently creates vacuum and a squeaking noise. n traffic light now suddenly: a kind of slight blow at the rear and 2 warning lights on: ESP and tyre symbol. After that the car did not pull right anymore, feels like a grinding hand brake. CODE 94 lit up when the engine was switched off at short notice. After restarting and a short drive, everything was fine again for 10min., but then it came back the same way. Because this obviously wasn’t enough, the engine control suddenly also lights yellow Are there connections?? ate by chance on the same afternoon 2 damages occur…?(CODE 94 is obviously an error in the so-called “Hallgeber”, which however has hardly anything to do with the brakes or the tires???? I’m pretty finished at the moment – what should/can/must be checked/repaired??? Thank you for relevant information. Photo of the current situation

  • Vehicle purchase, history

    Hello people, together! I urgently need help. My senior wants to buy a vehicle, however, a hail damage is visible, but it is probably not reported to the insurance company. It is nevertheless damage-free and accident-free. Can anyone help me with the historical reprocessing? Would be really grateful.

  • What helmet for driving school?

    Hello Sorry if wrong forum, I don’t know exactly where I should ask Next week I start with driving school, I want A driver’s license. I have full helmet and half helmet. I would prefer to ride with half helmet now, especially because I will often look down because of lines etc, I just have better overview with half helmet. I can also breathe easier at the moment. Since I drive in other city, I can now only take a helmet with me. Is ece22-05 checked, so legal, with visor. Otherwise I have motorcycle boots, jacket and pants with hips protectors and also back protectors and of course motorcycle gloves, so only helmet makes me think. Does the teacher have problems when I come with half-helmet now? Unfortunately I didn’t call last week was with something embarrassing to ask. And what is it for radio or is it just Bluetooth headphones? Supposedly we should communicate like this. Even during the exam. Never used that.

  • Timing belt interval depending on…?

    Hello, with my car is now the 3rd timing belt change, the interval is 120,000km. Newer engines, with similar performance, have however now partly double alternating intervals.. What exactly does the interval actually depend on, however, in essence? Direction/number of deflections of the belt, stress/conductor, thermal influences or almost exclusively material quality? If you read on the internet, you read that modern timing belts from clearly resistive There is the question, if this is the case, whether these materials are now taken for all timing belts, so also for those intended for older engines. That could mean then that one no longer has to change theoretically(!) bluntly all 120,000km. I change this with me, of course, nevertheless cautiously, but I was just interested in it now. Lg
