Hello, yes, I know, a lot has been written about this topic. That’s why I don’t have an overview anymore. In old threads you read again and again that “heated garages” are the safe rust death for cars made of steel sheet. From my point of view not quite understandable. Of course: oxygen and moisture accelerate the corrosion of iron. Heat can probably accelerate this effect somewhat. While “heat” is not comparable to “heat”. The kind of corrosion, which e.g. in acidic (such as road salt) and water accelerate corrosion. This can probably be regarded as safe, as I understand it. Now you read over and over again that it is more harmful to store your car in the garage in winter. In particular, a garage in which a higher temperature than outside prevails is rust-promoting. Heated garages are worst. Does anyone here know about this? I mean ECHT idea, not just hearsay half-knowledge (sorry …)? From my point of view, these prejudices have to be considered: – A higher temperature reduces relative humidity – the air binds more water, thus becomes “dryer”, there is less condensation, which can settle down as water on the sheet. – In a tempered garage there are lower temperature fluctuations. The temperature fluctuations due to the climate changes during the day ensure that the air condensate settles when the air cools at night. It is found on the cars in the morning. But in the invisible cavities the condensation water accumulates the same way. More water = more rust, right? – In the frosty season there is a double effect: in the evening the air cools down, so that water condenses on the sheet metal. Then the temperature drops outside below zero degrees, and the water freezes to ice, which expands thereby and micro cracks in the rust protection layer (lacquer ;-)) expands and deepens, so that more naked sheet metal to the verf all is revealed … As far as my theory … So it would definitely be smarter to put a car in a warm garage especially in winter and not in the carport, which is often propagated as a top solution. Do I miss something? I’m curious what the “rust professionals” say about it …

CL 500 W140 version
Hello, drive at the moment nn W124 and play with the thought to get me a CL 500 of the W140 series – free according to the motto “Man(s) lives only once”. How reliable is such a car? Consumption so about the 15-20 liters certainly?! Was this car with a lower motorization or is the 500er the only engine. When it comes to me, it also does a smaller engine, because I do not want to rush around, but rather to drive relaxed long distances, on which I do not always fear sweat on If I crawl past a truck, I’ll get my forehead! A 320 would do it if there were. As an alternative to the CL, I have a W140 300TD, which would certainly be better suited for long distances in terms of consumption, but is not so beautiful…!! Thank you Robert

Car gives full throttle for an hour
Quotation: “A scene like from a thriller. A normal tour on the highway. Suddenly the car gets faster and faster, can no longer be stopped. Now a driver has lived through this nightmare in France. For about an hour the man chased over the road with a speed of 200.” Source: Spiegel Online what would interest me: braking?, clutch? or what does this look like for example with an automatic?

Who’s blinking?
In recent times, German motorways have seen more and more drivers who seem to think: “When I blink, then I have an advance”. There are no signs of a lane without the driver driving on the left lane. The main thing is to the left, no matter if the rear man has to brake and there are still several hundred meters up to the obstacle. You could not get to the obstacle on the left lane anymore. And when you bang it then, surely it’s called “I’ve been blinking.” There is no room for changing lanes, you have to wait. Furthermore, you can observe that more and more drivers leave their lanes in order to allow others to thread in from the acceleration strip. Actually a good thing, but since it is not a duty, no other driver on the left track should be forced to brake.

Vivaro B 1.6 90 hp starts badly
Hello people, after an ad-blue problem, which was solved by cheerful parts exchange, I am no longer particularly positive to talk to Opel workshops. Therefore, I would like to discuss a problem here first and hope for really knowledgeable members. My Vivaro B year 2017, 1.6l 90 hp with now approx. 140t km starts badly. I bought it used and really well jumped it has never except in warm condition. Sometimes I already had the feeling that it at kal I can’t define it correctly, only sometimes I’m surprised that it starts the first time. In a cold state it’s common to start twice and even the second time it can still be that you have to “org” for a short time. The glow candles were changed about 10t km ago. My thinking is, that the temperature of the outside is even slightly lighter, like when it was very summer temperatures, when it was in the sun all day long. the glow plugs may not really glow, so they are not controlled at all. Could that be and what would be the cause? Is the control unit responsible for this and where does the control unit get the information to pre-glow? Is it pre-glowed during each start process (i.e. also in a warm state)? Or is there completely different reasons? The compression has not been tested so far, but in my opinion the engine of the power should be in order. kstatt be tested and could this also be done by a free workshop (without Opel software or tester)? Greetings to all Colo

Opel Vivaro Steel rims not registered
Hello, I recently bought a second-hand Opel Vivaro from a dealer. Now I have noticed that the steel rims are tyred with 215/65R16C (which are currently mounted on the car), but these are not registered in the vehicle license. There is 215/60R17C which was also added with summer tires. Does anyone have any idea if this is right? Greeting Michael

Kia Ceed (CD) SW Loading edge protection
I’m expected to get my Ceed SW at the end of next week and the negotiated (original) accessories will now be ordered via the dealer. I’m not sure if the version stainless steel would fit better or shiny. Color of the car will be Lunar silver. Does anyone at Kia have a loading edge protection in his car or even have pictures of it available? Thank you & BG
