  • Durability Smart CDI

Hello together, my friend wants to buy a Smart Diesel, because she is very often in the city and on overland, about 150 km a day. Since I don’t know about the smarts at all I wanted to ask you how it stands about the durability: The object of the desire has 104000 km on it and is from 4/2000 should cost 3000 Euro incl. 1 year warranty from the dealer. However, I worry a bit about two things: the small engine with so much km ? I once heard of a mechanic that the smart petrol engine has to be a revision of the engine at 60,000 km, is that true? If so, what does it look like with the diesel? many thanks to you

  • Roadster engine conversion, gearbox conversion??

Hello people, so last year I ran a Roadster Brabus test, and that’s already a nice thing, but the circuit is a disaster (my opinion). Now I’ve considered the following considerations. I read somewhere in the forum that he has an automated gearbox, so there must be the possibility to convert to a real circuit, or am I wrong? I have no idea how the gearbox is set up, maybe the m Or could you possibly install the diesel engine from 44? I think it would have 95hp, wouldn’t it? It would have to go like hell. I don’t have a roadster yet, I bought a second-hand Audi A8 last year in view of the price/performance ratio of the roadster, it cost just as much, but it has a lot of space, comfort and quietness… etc. But now in the early year the desire for a roadster as a fun car already comes up again, but it’s good to hear about it. uche are still too expensive for me to buy it out of fun. In addition, the schaltzng would still bother me, so the question is whether you can do something. Greetings Roland

  • It lights up the check engine.

Hello, as described in the title, the check engine lights up. I’ve been told how many times this is a typical SAAB disease. But what is really behind it? It just burns, so it doesn’t flash (short, long or other pattern). It’s just on! What’s it got on it? Then I wanted to know if there are different straps? I mean, some probably have chain and other straps. Which one affects this and this one where it affects it in general so that this one then also always have chain? • *** Newbie *** Request advice on exhaust & rims ***

Hallowechen…. Before I have to admit that I am a total newcomer in the Mercedes brand I would be grateful for a pair of tips, pictures, prices etc regarding rims & exhaust tuning at a Mercedes S 350 bj 12.2003. My buddy bought one and we search through now the net looking for a few send 19 or 20 inches and a grim good exhaust system is only provided, no car body work because of the rims… thank you already in advance Dear Greeting Michel

  • Opel-Klau!

Help ! I was quite obviously on Sunday the 13.03. or Monday, the 14.03. my beautiful 1964 record Coupe in Hamburg GESTOHLEN. A corresponding display is already running. Since it was only partly ready to drive, on the gearbox something has to be done, you could not just drive away with it. So it must have been transported with a tow truck or crane truck. WHER MACHT DEN BITTE SOWAS ? Of this model there are not too many anymore, therefore it should be quite noticeable, if pl I would be eternally grateful if you could tell me about it. Of course, I would be grateful for some successful tips. The car is green with a green interior, original radio etc. Most recently there were white covers on the seats. At the back left is a FC St. Pauli skull sticker on it. Fortunately I have a photo, at:http://www.basis-stpauli.de/bilder/basis/jdmc31-05-03/Jun06-42.jp g Unfortunately, the photo is the only thing left of the car at the moment. I really want it back. If you hear or see anything, please let me know. I’m really desperate. Thank you very much. Best regards from Hamburg Thorsten Bischoff ————————– Thorsten Bischoff Phone: [email protected]

  • 9-3 2.2 TID – failure 1 cylinder

Greetings, for a year I am absolutely proud owner of my 9-3 Anni 2.2 TID (now 115,000km mileage). Up to now everything went perfectly except for the sporadic CHECK ENGINE message. On Sunday I was then on the way from Hamburg to Fehmarn. Just behind Lübeck then the unplanned stop. At 120km/h (Tempomat) he jumped suddenly into the CHECK ENGINE emergency running mode. So far I had this problem only in the partial load range between 80 and 100km/h. By a restart d So far I was able to drive it normally. But on Sunday he ran restless afterwards and shook himself. 1 unusual cylinder, according to the announcement of the ADAC. Towing service then brought him to Saab in Lübeck. A compression pressure test then resulted in confirmation – 1 cylinder without pressure. Then I reported to workshops in Hamburg. Workshop 1 says I have to reckon with the worst, i.e. piston eater etc. Workshop 2 said they had never had a A test drive from the workshop manager a few weeks ago showed no weaknesses or suspicious foreign noises. My hope is therefore that it is only an unusual injection nozzle. Tomorrow I will be driving the car with a trailer from Lübeck to Hamburg, Germany. I will be able to find out more about the car, but I will not be able to get the car back to Hamburg. Then in the next step the cylinder head is removed and a look at the pistons is taken. Do you have experiences or opinions on this topic? An engine damage would be a tragedy for me!!! Thank you and best regards!

  • Help – Saab down – V-belt off – engine possibly broken?

with the request for help: was on the highway and at once the warning light for the battery went on and the steering was heavier. later the radio went off, the heat indicator went up and the tacho played crazy, also the abs light and the brake light went on. so I drove still a few kilometers until I finally lay down the lights were meanwhile also off and at the end twitched twice the engine light on. the workshop says, V-belt is not meh r there and the suspension is broken / missing too. also the climate compressor has broken. the calculation is already over 1000 euro and it is not clear whether the engine is also broken. I don’t know if I should give the order. who knows if the engine has also broken or if other parts can be affected. it is worth doing it again. saab 9.3 cabrio turbocharger bj99 model2000 many thanks to lisa

  • Slowing down?

Hello all, my ABS control unit was defective. This problem also appears here in the forum. Saab replaces only the entire system (EUR 3000). The part for EUR 160 could be repaired. Installation no problem. I drive the Saab 9-3 I, Bj, 2000, 154 hp. Had it “extended” several times. Tachonadel then goes to a little over 210 km/h. Now come on: today’s first longer motorway ride. I gave gas on free distance (even) times. At 180 (needle something over, about 182) was over! Nothing more. At about 4100. Onboard computer resets at top speed: 176 km/h. Does anyone have any idea what this could be about? Has the car possibly slowed down? Funkt. der Tacho nicht correct? Turbocharger?

  • Radio turns on by itself!

Hello together! Shortly before Halloween my SAAB 900II becomes ghostly. My original radio turns on itself, which brought the neighbors tonight Eros Ramazotti followed by ACDC as a musical background of their night activities. Nicely loud! The radio was off when getting off at 18h, keys deducted, volume normal. Then started roaring at half past eleven! Does anyone know this behavior? Hope for all involved that this will not become the rule. Balurdan

  • Whistle noise in cold engine

Hello Saabgemeinde My problem is an annoying whistle noise which recently appears more and more often with cold engine and cold outside temperature during the departure phases. It sounds similar to a blow-off valve, which then disappears however with warm engine. As it sounds comes the noise in driving direction seen from the front left. have already looked all hoses and also changed the bypass valve, but unfortunately without success. Where could be the cause and wi e could one fix these ? Thank you in advance . Greetings Gary
