  • Car Sold – Problems with Buyer

Hello! I sold my car in December (Audi 80 Bj.91) and now the buyer suddenly reports after more than three months with a problem. The buyer writes me that the car has a motor damage and he was forced to install a used engine. The cost is about 1200 €. He wants to have refunded at least half of the costs because the engine was supposed to have been planned before. But I know nothing about that, since I am 2nd hand and bought the car only in 2000. I am not informed about the history of the vehicle. I was served by the Audi for 4 years without great problems. Now that he has it he is dissatisfied. It may also be that he did not run the car properly. As a private salesman he cannot demand a guarantee from me! Now the buyer wants to go to court with me or he wrote me that he wants to sue me. What does it look like for me? I am not aware of any fault. Have my Audi for 1500€ ve rkauft and so seen I would sell it for 900€ if I would pay him half the bill. I used a purchase contract of course (ADAC). Thank you for your answers Gruss CARMAN

  • Overtaking *g*

Quotation: RELATED Free Ride for Ferrari If a Ferrari appears in the rear-view mirror, almost one in three drivers makes room and clears the fast lane of the highway. Porsche drivers do not meet so much consideration, hardly a chance for free lane have smart and mini drivers. Hamburg – The awe of luxury cars allows the drivers to evade to the right. 29 percent of the drivers clear the fast lane when a Ferrari approaches. In a Porsche, only one in five people do this, reports “Men’s Car” car lifestyle magazine. The magazine wanted to know in a win-win survey among 1055 drivers between 35 and 60 years of age, for whom they would be most likely to make room on the left lane of the motorway. Before the Porsche there are still the very rare Maybach (24 percent) and the Lamborghini (21 percent). Less respect, on the other hand, is experienced by more frequent brands. A Mercedes or BMW leaves only 19 or 18 percent, an Audi 14 percent the left lane. Little respect VW and Opel drivers also have an impressive effect. For them, only nine and eight percent of the fast lanes are cleared. Even a Jaguar is only one in ten seats. Smart, Chrysler or Mini have almost no “overtaking prestige”: for them, only two to three percent of the other drivers make room among the 17 brands asked for. read in the mirror

  • Speed persists when switching

Hello, actually I come from the VW warehouse and have absolutely no experience with Renault. I have never owned one myself, but my parents have now bought a Megane as part of the scrapping premium, because their old golf was scrapped. I borrowed the Megane the days and was quite horrified by the clutch. At first I noticed the crazy long pedal path. Besides, the clutch only packs at the very last moment. That means that you leave the clutch sp edal felt good 10 cm come and only the clutch reaches the last 2 cm. Then I noticed that the engine speed remains when pedaling the clutch for a short time (1-2 seconds), until it drops to idle speed. I have been driving cars for 25 years now, most of the time with manual gearbox. I have never experienced this before. If I want to switch, I have to go completely off the gas until two counts and then kick the clutch pedal. Otherwise, the clutch pedal is crying. even if I am in the first gear and let go of the accelerator at high speed, the megane rolls further, as if it had not been. In other vehicles, the motor brake would immediately become noticeable. Not with the megane of my parents. Here it is said when switching: wait down from the gas > two seconds > clutch step > switching > completely let the clutch come > give gas. I find this not only extremely unusual, but also un or is this some new technology from Renault that was not explained to us at the time of delivery? PS. The SuFu was no help for me. Greetings Tom

  • Renault Megane II: Buy or not?

Hello, I’m in training from 1.8.2009 and need a reliable car for this. Drive about 100KM a day, so of course the consumption is also very important, and the Megane shows itself quite well. Meaning is the Megane from year 2003 on. I don’t know which machine to take, but he should already have 100hp (lover about it). Now the question is, which engines of the Megane last long and whether the Megane is more susceptible to interference at all, or not? Diesel or gasoline? How expensive would inspections be? If you need a few experiences, it would be nice. Thank you in advance LG

  • No power and high consumption Megane III

Hello all, I drive the new Megane Coupe 1.6l / 110 hp for three weeks and now 2500 kilometers. Unfortunately I am disappointed by the driving performance with regard to the top speed and the enormously high fuel consumption. In the sixth gear it turns only 5200 revolutions and creates just so after a long start the 185km/h mark. So far away from the promised 195km/h. The consumption with normal driving city/country and highway is also at utopian 8.5 liters. Had before four J Take the Megane II with the same engine, but it ran and was 7-7.5 liters. Do you also have such experiences and what about an update of the engine software that I have always read. Is there this at dealers and has it a name/version number. Thanks for your answers Dirk

  • Megan3

Actually, I wanted to buy a Renault Megan, but I only find my features in the dynamique version, which unfortunately only exists with 6 gears. In a test drive, however, I did not notice any advantage of the 6 gears against the 5 gear gitirebe. The many gears have annoyed me very much.I would be very interested in your opinion.

  • Reanult Gran Scenic engine damage after only 4 years

Hello dear forum members, would like to get rid of my experiences here: My Grand Scenic, 4 years old and only 90,000 km has a capital engine damage, just like that. The diesel nailed and the engine was over. Now we have a damage of over 5000 euros, and the best thing: Renault Germany does not show itself at all kulant here, on the contrary. I learned from it that after many years we were driving Renault, also my family, never buy a Renault again. t I could read that many others have done so with Renault Germany, and I am of the opinion that those who deal with their customers like this and understand nothing of customer loyalty should withdraw from the German market. So love “Renault friends”…..that should be considered when you get problems with a Renault…..

  • Small cars against older limousines

Evening… I am particularly interested in the developments in car crash safety. There are certainly some experts who know this topic well… I’m interested in some aspects: 1.) Crash tests Well, how can a customer know how safe his car is? Of course, he will look at the Ncap crash test. But I wonder how meaningful this test is. Generally, a dummy should be best modeled after a human being. But: The test runs according to a given pattern: Frontal with 64 km/h against a fixed and deformed barrier etc. Can you read everything. However, I wonder how often this situation occurs in everyday life… Also, some manufacturers of their cars should optimize so that they perform well. What do you say? 2.) The safety of new small cars compared to older ones, but larger After the NCAP test – whatever you think about it – many small cars are no longer inferior to the limousines. They are equipped with numerous active or passive safety features. What interests me: Can you say now: A new Renault mode, which creates 5 stars in the NCAP test, is safer than an S-Class from the 80s? Or a 7-series BMW? At least cars, which have already been paid attention to safety. Suppose it is an S-Kl asses with driver airbag (was available as an extra): 2.) Which one of the drivers is better off in a crash against a fixed obstacle? 3.) What does it look like in the frontal crash? So when the S-Class crashes together with the small car? The old Benz has certainly been designed quite differently in terms of safety. The car gives up so little – what I know. In addition, it has more sheet metal or more weight. So advantages in the frontal crash, I think. 4.) If the Benz or just the 7 B had MW NO airbag… How does the crash look like against a fixed obstacle compared to the small car with all the airbags? And the frontal crash? Looking forward to your answers!
