  • Alternative to my MX5 searched

Hello, after almost 5 years of driving an MX5 NBFL, this now starts despite Mike Sander’s preservation rust and I have neither time, nor desire to cut out thresholds, make sheets, weld in, paint, etc.. So the thing should be removed. The problem is, I would like an alternative in the same price segment (~5-7k) and find hardly anything comparable. What I liked was just the sporty driving feeling of the MX5 and the simple technology, which also very much A few Keyfacts: – Yearly km: Approx. 3000km/year – Price: max. 650€ – Petrol – RWD/AWD preferred – Sporty driving feeling – Better a light vehicle than a lot of horsepower and heavy – Suitable for winter Do you have ideas about what could fit into this grid? The MR2 W2 came to my mind, but the middle engine is not exactly maintenance friendly.

  • Is a used car check worth it ?

Hello, Would you like to buy the 2003 Polo from a friend. The car is well maintained, but would still have a used car check at the TÜV or Dekra or should I look for a factory town for it? The three-cylinder has now also 130,000 km down but does not make any problems so far, should a compression test be done for safety reasons?

  • Family car up to max 8.000€

Hello, we are looking for a family car up to max. 8.000€ Diesel or petrol is not quite so important I think. The best thing is to enjoy the touran, but it costs accordingly. I think it’s worth most that the car is reliable and as far as I see the right 1.2 and 1.4 TSI engines fall out in the VW row. Driving performance per year about 15,000km mixed city, country, highway everything less than 30km per direction mostly. We do live near Offenbach. We had at TOK A utomobile in Ffm. bought a Renault Laguna 1,5 TDCi with 110hp. NEVER AGAIN!!! We stayed with the Laguna two times, injection nozzle! Shock absorbers had to be changed, brake was made completely new at the rear, snoring in the cockpit was never fixed, the engine suspension had to be changed! Thank God all this went on guarantee and cost nothing. However, the warranty is around and therefore we sold the car again. First: I never get back into a car again. And the woman doesn’t like Opel and Ford :-/ difficult initial situation

  • 7-seater with special seating arrangement? 3-2-3

Hello, We will soon be to 5 and are therefore looking for a generous 7-seater. Bus is not so my case, which is why we are visually looking for something between large station wagon and SUV. More or less by chance we have now found that besides the well-known 2-3-2 variant with the two foldable seats in the trunk there are also vehicles that offer fixed seats in the arrangement 2-2-3 and thus a passage between the two front rear seats. My question is n and what other models you can recommend. So far we have found: Lancia Voyager (or Chrysler), Ssangyong Rodius and VW Routan. Nice but not vital would be sliding doors, besides, the consumption should be kept within limits (possibly conversion to gas?) Look forward to your answers Thank you

  • I imagine my new car like this …. (meaning or nonsense)

Dear community, nice 2nd Advent (if that’s the case), I saw a car yesterday (no matter of the brand). It is “favorable” at a dealer at the corner. These “traffic dealers” are told in good faith by dealers, branches etc. that they are not always truthful and correct. Now, however, one of these dealers has just this (“dream” car. If I buy this car and take the difference to other dealer offers for it, if necessary, this is done repairs and corrections. As an example: I have a budget of x0.000T€, buy these cars for 3T€,– cheaper. Can be lucky and happy. Can be bad luck and use the previously not spent sum for repair and have a functional car. In contrast to the more expensive car, where I also don’t know what comes to me. For hard, clear answers I would be grateful to you.

  • V8, but which car?

Hello people, I am looking for competent advice for my vehicle search. I have been driving a BMW e39 530iA Limo for 7 years, and am still very satisfied with this reliable car. I have to make inspection and service, and also buy only good brand tyres. I pay TK at approx. 35% 800€ in the year and 200€ tax. the fuel consumption is 8.5 to 13 liters in average. I drive approx. 6000-7000km in the year, 70% overland 10% BAB and 20% city. now I have much about various V8 read through and found that a V8 would only be slightly more, or even the same, if not less would cost in maintenance, and the sprite consumption would have to be as much as I need for my 3.0L row-sewer. for the following cars : Ford Mustang GT 4.6 V8 S197 305PS ( 05-09 ) Mercedes CLK 500 ( 300 or fl 388 hp ) ( 03-09 ) BMW e60 Limo 540,54550 BMW e63 coupe 645,650 these are the cars that would come into my narrow selection criterion. e car data, fl, vfl, ect pp and the engines informed. driven of it I am the Mustang GT and found him very horny, bit on the chassis, and a SL 500, from sounding great but you notice him the 2T empty weight already. now I want to ask which car you would decide for, and why ? and if you have experienced with one of the vehicles, would also interest me the maintenance as the weak points. I want to spend up to 1500€ and bit about 150,000km I don’t care if 4.0 ,4,4 or 5.0 ,5 liters of space ,300ps are enough for me too. so I would be grateful for any advice

  • Buying an annual car with repaired sheet metal damage?

Hello together! I’m considering buying a VW Touran (built in 2013) from a VW dealer. The car had a sheet metal damage that was repaired by a VW workshop. Affected were tailgate, rear side and rear door. The parts were not replaced but repaired. Do I have to pay attention to something when buying? Can these parts rust faster or is it not to be expected if the repair was carried out professionally? Thank you for your assessment!

  • [Purchasing advice] City flicker for 800€

Hello everyone! Since I want to say goodbye so slowly to my faithful old Golf 4, I am currently looking for a new car. In the meantime I moved from the country to the city and am also mainly there, with occasional highway rides to my parents or at festivals my annual driving performance should amount to 10,000 to 15,000km (way to work/university is daily a distance of 2x5km). According to my previous research it should be I don’t know if I take a diesel or a petrol engine (if necessary I’ll have a better one). The age of the car does not exceed every 7 to 8 years and the budget, as mentioned in the title, is 800€. The car should not be all too big – by no means a station wagon! Four to five seats are mandatory, with the doors I agree with three. Storage space should also be available, as I mentioned in the beginning, in the summer the one or the other The design itself should be sporty, modern and youthful – with my 20 years I don’t want to drive an old C-Class Since I’m also on the highway from time to time, the car should also have a few PS more, in order to be able to let the sow out – so at least around the 100hp, very gladly also a little more (i.e. The last criterion that I could think of now: no BMW, no Frenchman (I didn’t have a good experience with the Twingo from my mother in terms of quality). So far I liked the current Ford Fiesta, the Honda Civic, the Fiat Grande Punto, the Opel Corsa / Astra and the Hyundai i30. Here my somewhat unstructured requirements summarized again: Budget: up to 800€ Annual driving performance: 10 to 15 thousand km Age: max 7 to 8 years – no combination – 4 to 5 seats – storage space for 2 to 3 people + luggage – air conditioning and common safety features – 100 hp or more – no BMW, no French I’m looking forward to your suggestions!

  • Scirocco away – good alternative must be here!

Hi together, I only have a VW Scirocco 1.4 TSI with 122 hp – built in 2009 – 44,000 km now for a shorter time. I would like to sell it now and buy something “larger” (refers to the engine). I think about 180 hp +, because I just want a little more “bumms” – by the way I find the new “downsizing” totally beside it, but well father state + environment is thanks. What can you recommend me? For my Scirocco I would like to have about 11.500 €, what hope and I think a Realistic price is – after all, Climatronic, seat heating, SRA, 18 inch Interllagos – which have after all 1.000€+ value. If you have good offers in the vicinity of Mainz, I would be very grateful, my attention is here mainly on: Golf GTI – like 6er, Golf 7er, BMW 330i Coupé, Scirocco 2.0 TSI Can also correct me, if my set price, for my Scirocco should be too high in your eyes. The car is by the way well-kept at VW and has TÜV until 04/20 16

  • Humidity in the garage

A lot has already been written about this topic, but still a small report of my experience. During the winter my CLS is hardly driven, but at 85% humidity in the garage (double-parker) this is not the ideal ‘place of storage.` Despite 30cm Maico fans, otherwise the humidity would probably increase. So I took care of a dehumidifier. First of all I looked for dehumidifier performance and of course after the price. But at some point I wondered how Because the parts, which work according to the condensation principle, should dehumidify 5 degrees cold garage air. This probably only works badly or not at all. At the company Trotec I then found: a dehumidifier, which works according to the adsorption principle and is explicitly intended for cold rooms. Costs at the moment € 169,00 including shipping costs, directly from the manufacturer. (TTR 55 E) I installed this yesterday and after about 18 hours of operation the humidity dropped from 85 % to moment 62% with further downward trend. The garage has a volume of at least 60 m3. PS in the interior / trunk I use a 1kg-Sack Silica gel each.
