  • New compact or used premium? Upkeep?

Hello forum, I am about to buy an annual car or day registration of the compact class. I have the following consideration: Option 1: Example calculation: car approx. 17000 Euro, 1 year, 10000km on it. I should be able to drive for about 10 years (15000km/a) and have maintenance costs of X. After 10 years the car is probably still 2-3k value. Makes under the balance expenditures of approx. 17k – 3k = 14k + repairs/maintenance etc. for 10 years Option 2: However, now also the ghost in my Instead, head around to get me a used car of a slightly higher category. So e.g. Mercedes A class, Volvo or Audi A3 These are also rather compact class but from the price already higher and felt something more valuable. Besides, I like the three very well. Supposed for 15K you get a well equipped Mercedes with 3-4 years and 50-60k kilometers. Drives this then 5 years instead of 10 and then sells it again for say 5-6k -> 15K – 6K = 9000 Euro plus repairs/maintenance The difference is that you have two weights for option 2 over 10 years (may be before or at a disadvantage) and just drive used cars instead of almost new ones. In addition, possibly higher workshop costs are coming to you? Are my thoughts so far right? I know that a car always means loss and doesn’t want to compare it exactly to the euro…but so Pi I want to see what a similar investment can be made. How are the maintenance costs/workshop prices of Mercedes and Auto compared to Ford/Opel etc? Thank you

  • search everyday cabrio, small, reliable, about 10TEUR

Servus, we’re currently driving a 13-year-old smart convertible and it’s beginning to suggest that he won’t live too long (at least not with us), so we wanted to look for replacements. Four seats should be there now, but the rear ones don’t have to offer too much space, probably only 2 times a year will be used anyway. It shouldn’t be too big, so that you don’t have to look for parking spaces in the city traffic for so long. a little complicated: it has to be good for winter sports, i.e. you should get skis in the car (roof boxes are a difficult topic at Cabrios …). May also be a bit tricky, we already know from the smart, but a “don’t go” would be an exclusion criterion. I land with the requirement profile again and again at the MINI Cabrio, but would have to try this with the skis. Maybe someone else has other ideas? Greeting, Sascha

  • Diesel vs Gasoline Multi-start

Hello, this topic has already been addressed several times, but still on a new one… I am looking for a new car and swung between the Mercedes W 205 C 220 CDI and C 200 or BMW F10 520 D or 520 I. My situation is as follows: I drive a distance about 3 km to work. Spread over the day I have to switch the engine on and off several times in relatively short distances (about 1 km each). (children pick up, shopping, training etc.) My question is as follows: Does the Benz take over iener or diesel the multiple starts better? I tend to the diesel because it simply offers more torque and consumes less on possible longer distances. Thanks in advance!

  • “Toyota Prius” or “Honda Civic Hybrid”?

Hello. I play with the idea of buying a car with drive hybrid gasoline power as used from about 90 hp. REELLER petrol consumption should be at max. 6 liter sprite/average. According to my budget (up to approx. 8000,- €uro), (where probably BJ falls pure until approx. 2008) I swung between “Toyota Prius” and “Honda Civic Hybrid” . What I have so far “together”: – the “Civic” has an electric engine with less capacity than the “Prius” – in “Civic” you can (only with some H ybrid models?) don’t flip the back seat. – Spare parts in the “Prius” are more expensive than in the “Civic” (especially body parts) – in the “Prius” charging option more flexible, since the “Civic” step-hook flap Please don’t see my points as a rating, otherwise I wouldn’t start this thread as a question either. Where would I be given the right to do this? What could be decisive or what I haven’t considered? Best regards

  • Family carriage that is fun – up to 20k€

Hello! I’ve lost a bit of an overview in the brand & type confusion and I’m looking for a little start-up help. I’m looking for a family-friendly combination (have two children) that has slightly higher driving performance and is comfortable. What’s particularly important to me is reliability in the long run, plan 8-10 years of holding time. I’m happy to have something new, starting from about 2013 – not like Van or HDK. Come from HDK, appreciate the space and variability, but that’s already, emotion zero, driving fun zero, com I would like to have climate car., automatic transmission, very comfortable seats, also space for adults on the back bench. Also I would like to have a slightly better touch quality. Driving rather little, 10tkm p.a. therefore rather a petrol engine. Actually I wanted something German, but the bottom line I didn’t find. Perhaps a Japanese? What would be interesting at the moment? Ford I don’t like so much Opel rather small in the interior and difficult A car from the VW Group is currently going nic Everything else is too expensive for me. Toyota, Honda, Mazda? Well, my most reliable car so far was a Citroen (Berlingo, 2002), maybe again a Citroen? Thanks for your answers!

  • Beginners are looking for your purchase advice (budget about 600€)

Hello Community, I’m currently driving a 2000 Audi A6 Avant 2.5 TDI Combi. I’m looking for a new car now. An important point for me is that I definitely don’t want any more cars. I just don’t like aesthetically. I’m looking for something more sporty. I wanted to stay the same with the A6 from the PS. I’m not sure about diesel or petrol. Despite the fact that the diesel has more power in the low speed range I feel until the turbo enters my A6 not much. Tax and insurance are not limited because my parents take over this. Consumption should be on average with diesel up to 12l/100km and gasoline 10-11l/100km (speak for 4 cylinders I think). Turbo would not have to be optimal, however, because I intend to install or upgrade one in the future. That makes me want to invest money in the car in the future to get a pair of PS more out. Budget approx. 600€. Which cars I have liked so far. nd: – Toyota Celica TS with the 2ZZ – GE engine (many of engine problems read) – Mazda RX-8 (against this speaks consumption and care of the Wankel) Which cars I rather don’t like: – Mercedes – Audi TT 8N (not nice :S) Let me convince you of the opposite. Thank you already in advance for the answers.

  • Small/compact car – 25,000 km/year – Diesel or petrol?

Hello, for the purchase my first own car (despite 10 years of driving licences) I could use a little help. Here are the marginal data: – small or compact cars – approx. 25,000 km/year for expected 3 years – commuting distance: 100 km/day, of which most AB, otherwise mountainous area, snow possible – speed on AB: 120-140 km/h I would like a reliable car that can be driven relaxed on the AB, but also has the power to overtake a truck on a mountain. o should not be too old. For this I would be willing to spend about 10,000 – 15,000 euros. Think at the moment at nem Corsa or Fiesta, which as an annual car are so to have in the range of 13,000 €. But my first question would be first: Does a small car with diesel engine offer itself for such a route? Here I have already heard the most different things from car dealers… Would the Fiesta as a petrol engine with the 1.0 Ecoboost engine be an alternative? For other car proposals I am justfal I am open and looking forward to your answers!

  • Fast Purchase

Have a short question: I found a car after weeks of searching, which we find very good. The dealer has already made me an offer by e-mail, including the payment of my old. On the weekend we drive to my parents – because there is the new car nearby – to test. Here is the real question: I assume relatively sure that we will also take the car. How long does the purchase process take so generally? There is no chance that you can do this directly on the You can do the weekend like this (including the car change and take the new one), right? Are you going to drive more than 300 km, and if we decide next weekend: Yes, it will be annoying to go back a weekend later to pick him up. What do you think?

  • First car for my daughter !!??

Hello, my daughter (student) is looking for a reliable affordable car. Desired would be Ford Fiesta; Seat Ibiza or Suzuki Swift or similar in size around 60 hp. in my research the Ford Fiesta looks not bad, he has good references from the TÜV from year 2008 onwards, price should be below 4000,-€. have you reasonable recommendations ? would be great Thanks already

  • Polo GTI, Peugeot 208 GTI … o.c. : Who has the biggest fun factor?

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to ride in a Peugeot 208 GTI. At first I didn’t know that it was a compact athlete, because it looks relatively good from the outside. But when we drove the first meters over a country road I had a grin in my face.In addition, the Peugeot 208 GTI promised me from the inside (I also liked the glass roof very much). I have to say that I never thought it would be such fun even as a passenger. My father drives a V8 jeep and I don’t think the V8 sound and the acceleration of the jeep is as great as you would expect. 1. I would be interested in which compact athlete makes you the most fun when driving. 2. And which used compact athlete is most worth it for about 8000 euros? Would it be more useful to save a little bit and choose the Golf GTI directly (with more kilometers down)? 3. And one last question: Waru m you actually only see boring cars on the streets, is it because of the big costs ( I mean a Golf GTI was also sometimes cheaper ) or do most people only see their car as a tool to get from A to B? Or is a sporty car just annoying in everyday life? In advance thanks to all compact sportsmen friends
