Headrests A4 in Audi 80 B4?
Hello, have the first bigger tour from Hamburg to Düsseldorf behind me, so far I am very satisfied! Only the headrests with the hole annoy me already, since I am not the biggest at 1,73m, and neither the deepest, nor the highest position create a pleasant backrest for the beet Since in the newer A4 (B5) there was an identical upholstery (the gray with the cross stripes), only with “complete” headrests – my question: do they fit also with me? Did someone have experiences? Here again a photo of the upholstery.

Temperature B3
What temperature of cooling water are the B3’s running with? Since yesterday the display in the AI (Temp.-Fühler was a wrong one) works with me again. After 3 – 4 km it shows 80 °C, but then increases hardly any more with moderate load, even after 11 km the engine was stable at good 80 °C. Heating is relatively fast after the cold start, so I suspect that the thermostat works. Of the “newer” cars I am used to that they always come to 90 °C temperature, and they also keep them strictly.

Audi Cabriolet crackling of electrics
Hello is new here and you can get a question… I’m driving an Audi Cabrio B3 in 96. I’ve had a lot of problems lately that the electrics crackle really loudly. It’s not regular so I could always say when flashing or similar. It comes both with light and when the light is off. The only thing I’ve noticed so far is that it’s actually only when the engine is already warmer. at lower temperatures it hasn’t occurred to me yet. Since we live on a mountain we usually have to drive a piece of highway uphill, here it’s the strongest, sometimes really long. It crackles and cracks somewhere under the steering wheel. Can they somehow be related to the fan / thermo switch etc.? Does someone have an idea like I could check? I don’t see unfortunately on normal ride with 80kmh upwards whether the fan is going on at this crack moment or what else happens. Couldn’t that crackle as said also localize there while driving under the steering wheel?

US taillights please only those who know it too!!!
Hello guys, here for the hundredth time the topic US backlights!!! I don’t know if I’m too stupid or just don’t get the overview in the whole matter!!! I’ve already read several posts with here and in other forums and also seen everything possible already at Ebay. But I just don’t get a proper overview of all the US lights. From which manufacturer have been produced which lights, which fit where pure and above all which parts there were or there are with an e-test mark. I’ve already seen lights with and without e-test marks. Lights that are red on the back and others are white or grey. Mansche write there are some from Hella, others from SEIMA ITALIANA. Others have Hella on the right and left of SEIMA. Then there are some for the convertible, for the Limo and for the Avant. Where is the difference with the US, Switzerland and Japan lights. Who can make a reasonable listing here for what there has been and if possible still with Artukel numbers. Then you don’t get me wrong now, I don’t want to get a new discusion about it all that’s just what was taken over.

Smart repair/partial painting possible ?
Hello, I had a “small” accident in which I got to the guardrail during an evasive maneuver with mine. I scratched the box from front to back, of course. It hurts, the box did not have a (larger) scratch. Now there is money from the insurance company of the causers, however, the repair would have exceeded the value of the car. So now I have thought of having the damage done with Smart Repair, ask me only if this is possible at all with the resulting damage. Above all I am concerned about the paint, the dents are not so wild. (SIEHE BILDER) Do you have experiences with Smart Repair ? (of course also related to the costs) Bzw there are other alternatives to the classic “new-painting”. (e.g. new doors without scratches from the scrap metal, partially paint, even improve themselves?)

Air conditioning refill – yes or no? – Audi Cabrio 1992, NG
Do I have to replenish or net? Situation: Car was standing half a year now, I always left it for a short time in between. I couldn’t start the climate because the ambient temperature was below 5 ° C. Okay so far. Audi partner told me once 2 years ago, usually I don’t need to replenish it, only when the performance is decreasing or nothing is going on. So, now started, climate is switched on, climate is running. Then given some gas, suddenly you hear how it is cracking and climate is off. Then this game gets a few times again, now it’s going to be full again. Do I have to replenish it or net, what do you mean? I don’t want to destroy anything by waiting too long at the climate or avoid unnecessary switching it off during the ride, because it only goes on the compressor clutch if you don’t notice it and let it turn on. Audi is now only shut down19 years young and never done anything about air conditioning.

Match speedometer status with change or repair?
Hello, since I am thinking of changing the instrument that has not been functioning since the last days… or at least repairing all non-functioning things… I wonder if I can restore the function of the odometer/kilometre meter that died at a stand of 285,000 km. Is it safe to be mechanical with my 92er Avant. There are still a number of lights to change and I finally wanted to take an afternoon time. If the thing is not reparable… and I can shoot a cheap part in the bay, I would like to bring its km stand to mine, which should be at 330,000. I just want to avoid that if I sell it once SOLLTE… then I would need to find an AI with approximately similar km stand. Before the whimper goes off… I don’t want to sell the car or change the km stand to the bottom. I just want to avoid that if I sell it once SOLLTE… then the tachostand of a whole KI to the stone of stumbling. Will but also not have a part to repair with 45 km?

audi 80 motor conversion
Hello Audi friends after a long time back and forth I decided now to make a motor conversion. a good known of me has an audio coupe type 89. the engine in the vehicle is a 5 cylinder 136ps. for little money I can have the part, because the car has a rear damage and several damage to wheel runs, body etc.. the engine itself has just limped 160,000 km on the clock, since before the accident a replacement engine came in (was only a few thousand km installed). the 1.8er is too sluggish for me and I drove a 5 cylinder sample and was very enthusiastic (especially of the incomparable sound). can you give me a few good advices for the conversion. what I also saw is that the engine bearings have to be rewelded. what do I actually have to rebuild everything? mfgg
