  • Cold running regulator or minicat (Euro 2)?

    Hello, I bought an Audi 80 with a 2-litre machine and 90 hp today. The car is EZ 08/94 and currently still has Euro 1 (E2). I would like to change that. I have already informed myself a little bit. Basically there are two possibilities, cold running controllers and minicat. Due to the price I tend to the latter rather, especially since this should not cause problems in the engine run, which is probably sometimes the case with the KLR. In another forum I also read that one can have this carried free of charge from a certain year of construction at Audi? Can I almost not imagine… I am a bit over-examined at the moment, which is probably better and whether the TÜV acknowledges this at all, if one installs a KLR or minicat itself. Because partly I have read that this is only recognized if this is installed by a workshop. I am just somewhat unsure based on the multitude of information that partly contradicts what I should do now. Can someone give me a more precise information?

  • sudden increase in consumption

    Hello dear people, I have been driving an Audi 80 B3 1.8S 66KW engine code PM and year of construction 91 for almost a year. Was up to now actually satisfied with the consumption, always had something between 7.6 and 8.3 liters. Now during the last two times it was full tanking 9.5 and 9.3 liters. Where can this come from, is it quite a jump?? Spark plugs, oil filters, oil, air filters are new so this can be excluded. Longer broken (has a small hole) is the trouser tube, but then I should have had an extra consumption before. The cooling water temperature plug sometimes shows what he wants, but that has also been before the extra consumption. At the track profile or driving mode nothing has changed either.   • Fuel line corroded – no TÜV get 🙁

    Hello, was yesterday with the TÜV and unfortunately not passed, because the 3 pipes are corroded from the tank (see pictures). The question is now whether it is enough if one separates the corroded pieces out and replaces the gas hoses and hose clamps so that the examiner is satisfied? Since the pipes are difficult to access (runs above the petrol filter), I could only separate the line to the places marked on the picture.The length to be replaced would be by the many bends and curves, about 70 – 100 cm.
