Hello I’m looking for an A2 for my sister now we don’t know which is the better of the 1.4 or 1.6 FSI, has one maybe brochures with the data from the moths (usage unsw…) She usually drives in the city therefore I say 1.4 is enough, my father again 1.6FSI and how is the Audi A2 so?? Vulnerable? Often in the workshop? Insurance? Parts cost? ́ Dangerous?

The Macks of the A2
I really like my A2 very much, and in contrast to doing others, I find the design forward-looking. Even now, for example, there are more and more car design studies that have just such a strongly shaped rear window … Only a few things on the A2 don’t seem to be very thought-out! I noticed the horn in the A2 as well and was already mentioned here recently. Such a semi-loud squat … doesn’t fit quite to the car … or maybe yet? somehow seems t the car not really thought up to ́s last detail: too few shelves, shelves in the doors very small, glove compartment has `n large flap, but little space behind it, bonnet without “chaniere” where one does not know exactly where to go after opening it, cooling water level from the service flap can not be read off, the rear doors can not really open far=problems when getting out, headroom at the rear very severely restricted, very sensitive plastics e.g. the Einrahmu ng the inner door handles peel off very easily, the rear panel in the trunk inside on the D-pillar is highly pressure sensitive, sensitive varnish, very, very hard driving behaviour, much too small tank for first models (35L), no space for a spare wheel, and above all: very limited view through the inside much too thick A-pillar!!!!! and also otherwise the view from an A2 is very limited by far too thick columns and small windows! Conclusion: man h Would have been able to improve a lot, and I certainly won’t buy any more, especially because Audi (or better Mr. Piech?) treated the car so deeply, then you’ll get away with the pleasure! Just look at Mercedes: the first A-Class was a rather bad car in terms of comfort and workmanship, but Mercedes continues, Audi pinches!

Chassis vibrations under load
Hello, slowly I don’t know any more… These eternal vibrations are on my nerves. To explain here an e-mail that I sent to Audi yesterday – also with the expected, unsatisfactory answer: Quote: Dear ladies and gentlemen, I have a problem with my Audi A2 year 2002, 1.4L 16V gasoline, equipped with S-Line sports suspension + 17” rims. It could be understood by two different workshops so far, the name of the wrong one. However, the cause – let alone its repair – has not been possible so far. Therefore, I turn to you in the hope that you will be able to name at least other possible causes of the problem due to statistical data, which you would doubtless have available, which I then have to check again in the workshop. To the problem: The car (running capacity ~94000km) started to vibrate strongly at ~70000km under load. The vibrations are NOT noticeable in the steering wheel, but over the whole e body – in the footroom, at the doors etc. (also from the passenger). It is not on the wheels, as the steering wheel does not vibrate and the vibrations occur both with freshly balanced winter and summer tires. Also, the vibrations are not constantly noticeable, but only in the area of the highest torque, i.e. during strong acceleration e.g. in the third gear between ~70-100. As soon as you walk from the gas, the vibrations disappear. As these become ever stronger and I mi In the meantime, I have consulted two workshops about this – once during the inspection and once unscheduled. Both were able to understand the vibration, but could not find any cause. The wheel suspensions / joints were tested at play, as well as the engine suspension on tension – without result. In my opinion, the problem must come from the drive train due to the symptoms described above. 0Km/h also audible. Even if the sites have not been able to detect anything yet, CAN these vibrations not be good… Are you aware of something like this from your quality control or can you mention other possible causes? In advance, thank you so much, the answer: Quote: Dear Sir ***, thank you for your email. You tell us that there has been a complaint about your Audi A2. Just like you, we would like this to be as fast as possible. We have not yet been able to record comparable criticism from other vehicle owners. However, since we cannot assess the cause of the damage nor the need for repair, we ask you to contact your Audi partner on site again. This has access to all the technical aids of AUDI AG and can initiate on-site evaluation of your vehicle measures for the termination of the complaint. Our goal is that you are completely satisfied with your Audi A2. Friendly greetings from Ingolstadt Do you have any idea what this could be? And the ‘Audi Service’ is also fun: I didn’t really point out that in the meantime 2 Audi partners were not able to find the cause??? I still find the car great and drive it out of conviction (bad, that wg. offspring soon needs something bigger… :-), but the service is under all cannon! Greetings, Campyonly

A2 in the snow
Hello, How suitable for winter is actually the A2 with its narrow winter tires ? I would be interested in your experiences, since I am always a lot in the snow in winter. Has someone with the A2 e.g. already a snowy, serpentine-rich slope overcome without major problems ?

Inspection costs
Perhaps here you can do your experience with inspection costs at Audi or other workshops Kund. How much does the inspection cost for the 1.4l petrol tanker after 2 years? How much does the inspection cost for the 1.4l TDI after 2 years? etc.

Gear ratio
Hello A2 – Friends, I have read that some drivers of an A2 TDI have the translation of the 5th gear changed to save fuel. Who had this done with his vehicle or who has more information about it? First of all, I am interested in a) what did it actually do, b) who does this work and c) how much does it cost? For your answers I thank you already in advance.

Diagnosis Joint shaft ?
Have the following problem: when driving on the country road but even more strongly both he has Autobhan ratterts at the front right. Question: how can you determine whether this is really the joint shaft? Does not even like to switch on suspicion, which is too expensive for that. Who has found out this before? Martin
