  • Control oil levels reliably?

How can I reliably control the oil level in the A2? The installed trackstick with the black something at the end of the trackstick is not really reliable. Somehow I can’t get rid of the feeling that when moving the stick oil from the guide this small black riffled sausage is wetted and there are already 1/10 oil drops to fill these small grooves. To my knowledge, there was a lack of oil years ago, but it was also not visible on the trackstick. ng that leads to outside mining and then using a normal metal wedge rod? Are there solutions to the problem? Thank you for your support!

  • Fuel costs

Reduce fuel costs Hello, I drive between 50 and 60 Tkm a year and therefore would like to buy an A2 1.2 TDI. I have doubts, however, whether 1.2 diesel runs over 200Tkm. Currently I drive a Mondeo 1.8 TD with 350.000km and 5.5l (!) at 100km. Who can tell me if the A2 is the right car for me? I am not in a hurry, the Audi is only used for the work path.

  • Costs: Aluminium rims Renovation or new rims?

Hello! Not too long ago a topic opened: “Alufelgen-Renovierung im Raume Nürnberg”. Sorry, you can forget. Trotdem still many thanks for some comments. Instead not the rather locally interesting question, but the more to an extended interest group encountering question: “Repair or immediately new (naturally suitable) alu rims”? I am well aware that it is important that the degree of damage of the aluminium rims. Übrisgens: The rims (17″ have never been compatible with kerbstone edges, at least my A2 mutated to the private car before my takeover as a company car! After all, the renovation costs at least approx. EUR 100,– per rim net. To do this, the tires would have to be removed from the rim. Did they have to anyway, as new tires become due. I am very attached to your opinions/instructions! Greetings thank you in advance! B LÄ C K Y

  • TÜV: What are the consequences if defects cannot be repaired within the time limit?

Hello dear A2-fans! I got into a kind of mess at the moment: We stay every year 3-4 months for family/social reasons in Finland. Now it turned out that a greeting customer service and a main inspection of the TÜV was carried out in time before the departure. To my surprise, the TÜV found a lack that had to be fixed only in order to get a badge on the license plate again for the next two years. Problem: cross handlebars, in front correctly ts, restricted by rust damage and no longer portable. The timely and necessary procurement of this transverse handlebar is currently not possible. Workshop: Could take 1-3 weeks according to experience! Fixed/fixed departure of our ferry to Finland 13.5.2018, embarkation 12.5.2018 from 22.00 h. This only to history. What does this have for me for consequences, if I would only be able to show the repaired car to the TÜV after 4 months. the/exception permits for verifiable/understood circumstances? Of course, I am still looking for target-oriented alternatives in terms of the timely procurement of crossbars. Please hold all the thumbs that you have so that we can reach the ride in time! Thank you, still much pleasure on May 1st all real A2 fans and their friends of course too! B l a c k y (alias Finn-Frank)

  • A newcomer to the A2 owners and a few small questions

Hello people, I now have a daily driving distance of 250km to master by changing my apartment. I did not want to expect my old Mercedes G and it would not be bearable from a financial point of view. Now I have bought an Audi A2 1.4Tdi this weekend. 120Tkm on the speedometer and year of construction 2002. Since the route I travel to 50% highway 45% highway and 5% city, I am thinking about whether I can not have a cruise retrofit. Tempomat retrofitting or should one use the accessories here? e.g. WAECO Has someone already had experience with the installation? How are the costs? if necessary workshop recommendation near Hamburg or Hanover. At the moment have been raised on my A2 175er and for the winter I got 165. Since I not only want to save fuel, but also want to be safe on the road, is there a tyre size that has proven to be ideal for the A2?

  • Engine control lights up – No AU?

For our son we bought an Audi A2 , 1.4 petrol EZ 2001. The oil level sensor was defective and the glass roof . Otherwise the approx. 300 km long overpass worked without any problems . After the purchase we made an appointment in an Audi workshop to exchange the oil level sensor . In the workshop the car was looked through . In the process the timing belts had to be changed and oil separator renewed . The glass roof had to be clamped. The first day after repair everything was great. n lighted engine control light even though lit up in the middle o.k. error readout resulted in 2 sporadic errors. Exhaust gas return throughput too small and data bus drive messages are missing – air conditioning control unit. Workshop has various options for repair when it does not stop after erasure. After about 50 quiet km it lights up again. In the workshop it was said that we might not get any Au and that is due in August. You probably already noticed that we are not Bastlers. The Vert They wanted to change an axe cuff, even though only one bell was broken. A friend of mine fixed it to us again. He also looked up the throttle flap. He said that it would not be worn out, but it did not clean it. Since the 17-year-old’s cash register is quite scarce, it would be nice if we knew where to start? Before the repair at Audi, the engine control didn’t glow. Does anyone know advice?

  • A2 = breakdown vehicle

Hall dear A2 owners! After reading so many reports about various error messages and breakdowns here (and my own was already in the workshop because of crossbars/stabi etc.), I would be interested to know if there are also A2 owners who had NO problems with their sweetheart so far!! I was praised the A2 as one of the best small cars, according to adac he is at the top of the Tüv list. I mean, I am very happy with the car, the processing find I am very good and everything is right so far – only, has someone bribed the adac or what???Tell your experiences! Greetings brandywine

  • the right time for the presentation of an advanced A2

The fuel prices explode. Audi introduces the Q7 – a kind of counter-design to the A2. Probably it will be a success. Despite the fuel prices. Maybe not to the extent that one imagines it at Audi. Because of the fuel prices. Not a good time for new fuel eaters. A convenient time to introduce a completely different car. The improved, because in his virtues advanced A2. Something lighter than the predecessor, with an even lower air resistance, even more economical M otoren, alternatively a hybrid drive or gas, and with an even more variable interior … Is there really no market for this car? lim

  • Problems with 1.6 FSI…

Hello, I have been driving an A2 with 1.6l FSI engine (10 Tkm, first registration 11/03) for about 2 months. I love the car – except for some problems with the engine… In idle mode (even running warm), the engine sometimes starts to nail like a diesel! The nailing or “tackering” is clearly felt in the pedals. This behavior is by the way independent of whether the air conditioning is switched on or off (I thought first of the compressor). Second problem: The engine takes at times very fast. This behaviour is particularly unpleasant when starting, because you are either afraid to strangle the engine or start with full throttle. Furthermore, the performance of accelerations is sometimes very unbalanced. In other words: the car gives thrust, then comes a power hole, shortly after that comes thrust again. As I said – only sometimes. Very strange… My workshop thinks that there is no fault stored in the control unit, the nailing is a peculiarity of the FSI-Mo tors and the disappointing torque course (“somewhat weak down” is A2-typical. On my remark that my rental car – a 1.0l VW Lupo! – gets away subjectively better, then came only a shrug… :-)( Can any of you help me? Do I expect too much? Does the workshop have no idea? I really regret my purchase by now… Thanks and greeting, bluenude

  • “Dental forming” on the tires

funny, somehow my entry is gone! So again: Does someone have the same problem? Have on my A2 the serial tire Goodyear Eagle on it and I already found last year that the tires are making noises at slow speed. I have now found out again after the change of the winter tires – because they were super-quiet! After I was in the workshop and made a test drive with the friendly and also the “flupflupflup” on he said, that if you always drive the same routes (as I did to work/training 90%) a so-called “dental” formation on the tires can develop over time (if I have it right in my head). Because the tires always roll the same route. Now I drove a good 1200km highway this month and hoped that it would get better. Pustekuchen, is even louder. If someone has noticed this with his tyres or especially with the A2 already, can you do something about it? Grad so in the 30 zone it is sometimes really loud and you feel it too well – but it is definitely the tires before someone makes me jerk again!! I’m glad when I get rid of the things, unfortunately they are still quite good in the profile. Does someone have recommendations for good, quiet 175ers? Greeting + thanks brandywine
