  • [ALL] New WS disc – Carglass or Friendly?

Hi together, a few days ago I got a boulder in the WS on the track. Result : Deep crater with small cracks running away from it. Yesterday it rained, since the cracks have become about 10cm long. So disk has to be changed ASAP. Have 150 EUR SB TK, and Carglass currently makes here nearby (maybe someone interested : On the parking lot of the TOOM in FFM-Rödelheim, where also McD and Metro are) ne action – if you agree on an appointment on site, about The only question is whether they actually use the same material as Audi? That the boys are better in terms of technology, i.e. the installation technology, than any friendly one, should be left out of the question, they don’t do anything else all day long. Do you have a light sensor – and I’m just not sure if the quality of the material is the same as the friendly one? Carglass says yes. Weiss jema And advice? Thx! Kringel

  • TDi engines: Run turbo?

Should one actually let a TDi run after the end of the journey for a moment to avoid a heat build-up in the turbocharger?

  • Cigarettes ten times worse than modern diesel engines

Air Pollution: Cigarettes Ten times worse than modern diesel engines Researchers from the Cancer Institute in Milan have discovered in an experiment that cigarette smoke pollutes the air ten times as badly as the exhaust gases of a modern diesel engine. The researchers started the experiment in the Italian Alps because there is very little fine dust in the air. In a garage a diesel engine was first run for 30 minutes and then three cars were burned. The evaluation of the results showed that the concentration of particulate matter in the smoke of cigarettes was ten times higher than in the diesel engine. Since cigarette smoke is very short-lived, it is mainly a pity for the closer environment, the researchers explained.

  • Possibilities of burglary

I hope to pick up something completely new with this thread. The thoughts that I’m going to take over on it because of new radio, Tft etc. How easy can you get into the A3? When I return to my Polo 6N back then, they were quite firmly in there, you need – did the policeman say – just press the lock in the right direction with a wrench then the door jumps up. At my Peugeot 206 Tendance they have the so-called Rus right in front of my front door. I hope that the lock on the A3 won’t work, and maybe the doors are a little more stable? How are your experiences? And before someone thinks in the wrong direction, I don’t want to open an A3 so I don’t want to open a detailed public route, but I want the opposite. Pepe

  • TDI: cracked piston normal????

Hello, I’m not sure if the topic fits in here or not; if not, the moderators will be happy to postpone it. Now to the problem: a colleague of mine is a workshop master in a VW/Audi workshop and has recently seen some TDI engines with cracked pistons; what should be known is a capital engine damage. The problem so far occurred with 1.9 TDI models and the 2.5l V6 models (180 hp) (always Audi models; therefore the question here and not in the VW compartment) How it makes itself noticeable: no performance; foaming of the oil (since gas pressure escapes into the crankcase etc. etc.) Also bad: many workshops find the error only after expensive exchange of other parts what the repair for the owners still considerably more expensive!! Now my question since it is not so knowledgeable with the PC: is it a coincidence that especially at the workshop of my colleague the piston cracks in driving performances pile up by 150,000 km or is there often?? No discussion whether the TDIs are stable or not; I just want to know if something like this is more common and if other people/drivers/workshop employees are also known!

  • Off Topic: Petition on non-smoker protection

Without wanting to polarize now, here my apell to you: Take part, only takes seconds. Deadline is unfortunately already today…http://itc.napier.ac.uk/…/view_petition.asp?PetitionID=88

  • Tires and co.,…

Hi, guys! Have a few questions for you again I hope you can help me: -) I noticed that there are always so colorful stripes on new tires! What are they supposed to do? To see if they are new? Don’t you see this at the DOT No.? -) Why do you slip with wide tires rather? Because they have more attack surface? -) What exactly does retreaded tires mean? What happens to the old tires, how do they get them floated again? -) For what reason are new cars not More tax-free? Does this have the reasons? -) How does it cause head seal damage? Due to too little lubrication? -) Does it have a disadvantage or advantage that you turn on the generator/ alternator while driving? Did you hear that the alternator is charging the battery? Would that even be advantageous for the battery???? -) Is it good to step on the brakes every now and then? To reduce the squeaking? And if so, why does it reduce the squeaking? -) Can you also apply 14 inches instead of 15 inches? -) What are ABS rims? What is different to “normal” rims? -) Are there advantages in the control chain in contrast to timing belts? Or are there disadvantages? Thank you for your answers! Greetings S ́Mirile

  • good old “Wackelelvis”!!

I hope you don’t rip my head off now, because I dedicate a thread to IHM. I just found my old wobblelvis when I broke down! You certainly remember the cool advertising – wonderful! But remember that he has disappeared from all Audis for quite some time. Do you think I could put it back on my front window or is it too daring and old fashioned? Of course I mean the original, directly from Audi, golden Elvis, no t for example the silver-coloured imitations or even the wobble-boals – woh! Maybe some of you will come along and help this boom to a revival. That would be a change to the small boxer gloves, children’s shoes & Hawaiian flower chains on the inside mirror! Write me your opinion, would interest me! Michel.
