  • 1.8l ADR is jerking, does not accept gas, consumes 13 liters!!!

Hello, I have a problem with my engine. It is the 1.8l 20 valve with the engine identification letter ADR and it is installed in a 1997 Audi convertible. If it is “cold”, I can start normally in the first gear, but when switching into the second gear (speed after coupling in the 2 gears just below 2000 rpm) it does not take any gas for 1-3 seconds and jerks instead terribly. I can bypass the bad gas acceptance if I immediately pass the pedal over the “halfs” In addition, it consumes 13 liters of super. It doesn’t matter whether it’s urban traffic or constant 120km/h on the motorway. Candles all look uniformly “deer brown” and the ignition has been replaced after initial restless idle (perhaps working perfectly). I have read out fault memory once. A low voltage on the throttle was criticized, which abe This engine in the convertible consumes 9-9.5 liters according to the fuel monitor. I would be happy to get this problem solved as cheaply as possible, but he has to go to TüV or HU next month. I ask for help, Mfg Felix

  • Temperature problem NG Motor

Servus! I have the following problem with my 92er B4 Quattro NG. My Audi has recently become extremely hot (warning lamp starts at approx. 140km/h) when I drive away and, for example, when I am standing at the traffic lights. On the other hand, sometimes the temperature drops from 90 to approx. 50-60 degrees within about 15 seconds during the ride. Sometimes it runs quite normal as if it were nothing and remains stable at 90 degrees. Actually it can no longer be possible: Cylinder head gasket Thermostat cooler water pump the two temperature encoders that sit at the front of the flange at the head the encoder for the fan recirculation that hangs at the back of the valve lid in the air I have already aired forever, only water comes out. Heating also gets warm. The coolant indicator and the AI are also OK. E-fans are also starting. Slowly it gets really interesting, I really run out of ideas. Who has an idea? MfG

  • Audi A4 Quattro 40Tfsi

Hello, I am interested in an Audi A4 Quattro with the 40tfsi engine from 07/24 with S-Tronic & S-line equipment. Can anyone say anything about the engine? Problems like oil consumption, oil pumps, etc. … Lg

  • new 2.0 CRD

In the A4 a new 2L commonrail diesel is to be used with a fabulous 204hp. I have now read several times that this engine should be installed in different VW and Audi models. What happens then with the 2.7 and 3.0?

  • 1.8T jerks (LMM, ignition stages, throttle valve)

Hello, my 1.8T has been jerking since recently. Here’s the very exact error description: 14 days ago he didn’t jump on after a short stop (5min) with warm engine. Only after I gave a bit of gas when I started it went on and then had about 2 minutes of strongly fluctuating stand gas, after that the stand gas was constant. That with the not jumping occurred then opener, I always gave some gas (as above) and could drive. Until today, if I started the now (engine is still warm) then the stationary gas does not stop to fluctuate and when I take the gas away it goes out. I used to dig intensely google after the problem. The following things could apply: – defective air mass meter – defective at ignition stages – throttle flap flat. I changed the spark plugs today (they had it not) but the problem is still. Did you have a problem of any kind? How can I exclude something? Can I check the wound coils? Thank you And bye Andre

  • A6 3.0 Preheat engine for short distance?

Hello experts, I plan to get an A6 Avant 3.0 TDI (current model) soon. Unfortunately, the vehicle will be moved to 80% on short distances (about 5 km), but I need a large powerful vehicle for the rest of the journeys and I don’t want to get 2 vehicles. Now my question: does an engine preheating (e.g. by a heater) help to reduce the harmful cold start and especially the bad short distances and the associated consequences? Mei n Workshop master strongly advises me from this purchase. He said that such a large engine would always have to be warmed up at least 10 to 15 km, so that long-term damage would be avoided -> but he did not show me an alternative solution. The vehicle will definitely always be parked in a garage and electricity is also available. Or is my worry even exaggerated or even unfounded with the new engine generations? Thanks already for your answers and Greetings.

  • Need help With turbocharger upgrade1.8T AJQ –>AUQ

Hello. So first of all I have to apologise to cut the topic again but I need a definite answer so whether it fits or not. Topic….again…K03 series on K03 “Sport” I have a 1999 AJQ 132kW Quattro with this loader here: 06A 145 704B that should be the stink normal K03 without any frills from the K04 I would like to treat myself to a so-called K03 sport because this nevertheless promotes even more pressure at high speeds. My question refers to as o to the accuracy of this sport loader because I don’t like any other major modifications like crushers and the like. According to my research this loader should be: 06A 145 704 T from the AUQ engine one of the so-called “sport” loaders which has the same dimensions of the normal K03. However, this loader is only installed in the AUQ 132kW and AUM 110kW engine…both without Quattro!!! Fits this loader with my AJQ Quattro engine together with the other components AND it is with this loader ACTUALLY around a so-called “sport” K03 with K04 compressor side (turbine wheel)… In the parts catalog I find for my year of construction only the 06A 145 704 M 06A 145 704 P loaders which should be the real K04 loaders since these have been installed in the S3 and for me are uninteresting because you still need several other parts (carryers etc…) I ask for an answer from people who really definitely know if the loader fits and if it is really one… mfg and many da nk in advance Joe edit: Also a stupid question…So the engine is chipped and brings with the normal K03 loader up to approx.4500U/min rich 1.5Bar charging pressure (real value!) however the pressure drops to only 0.6Bar until the end what is normal with the loader…If I ever install this sport loader there is still enough gas pressure or should I buy such a petrol pressure control valve for 3.6Bar….
