  • Gear problems !! Your experience, repair solutions and associated service life

Hello to all friends of the Audi R8 Before I now read all reports and past errors around the topic R-tronic and also (because mechanically the same) the hand switch I created a new topic. It is about the suffering stories around this topic to take up times and explain my intention, resp. solution, . As one or other is known we are known in the R8 Scene and among other things also for the maintenance and repair a reliable partner . In the letz In addition , errors in the switching hydraulics and their valve block are often identified as the cause of sporadic errors (such as mechanical fault gears or basic adjustment not possible and gear position not plausible) and the previously mentioned block is replaced . The replacement is very expensive and usually does not bring the desired result . We ha In the end, almost a dozen cars were treated with these problems and the half then finally equipped with exchange drives in order to be error-free again. Here, without exception, the switching forks with the switching bodies as well as the synchronous rings turned out as a source of error. The price and also delivery situation is of my opinion catastrophic and thus the thought from the many transmissions came to me to organize an exchange circle and thus the price and the delivery situation n to defuse. Please be so good and tell me the current problems and also where price can settle a repair with warranty. Since now more and more cars also come into 8 year are warranty and culant usually no longer in. But a R8 belongs on the road and the repair should be in proportion. Thanks for your help 😉 Greeting from Cologne, Klaus Höller

  • Audi R8 transmission failure

  • Ceramic brakes

Moin all together, I’m new here and I would like to ask you a question! Maybe someone can help me! I bought an Audi V10 plus 1 months ago BJ 2015 which still has a warranty until 2020… When driving home I noticed that the brake gives away grinding noise and the gearbox makes howling noises:-( I called my salesman and he said that I should drive to the workshop on site to check it out! It would be Gara I drove directly to the AZ and reported the errors! But I only got an appointment in a month! Now the car was finally on and the workshop found a fault with the brake system (brake pads in front would be defective bubble formation) That was reported Audi the say no guarantee!!!!! The dealer (where I bought the car) would like to take over only half He meant that I drove about 900 km I could see the documents What totally stupid is that I just drove the federal road! Fun car …. Who knows how to behave?

  • AC compressor not running

V8, Built 2007 Hello, it is hardly a problem (tire sensor) solved, comes already the next. Human, is that so with all high-tech cars so ? Aircon blows only hot air. All diodes are on, do not flash. In the error memory (with VCDS) nothing is reported. All fuses are OK. Pressure sensor connected: constant approx. 6,5 , does not rise with switched on AC. That is. The compressor is not filled but the compressor runs. Can it be that the magnetic coupling does not couple , i.e. not electrically connected and that the copressor is not running? Again the question :what to do ? Thanks for good ideas Jag

  • 2007 R8 V8 – Squid noise from engine room

Hi together! Have had my R8 now 1.5 years and already some repairs (just exceeded the 100tkm). After I had all the necessary repairs done in the summer it runs very well and is according to Audi in top condition. Recently I started to hear a new noise. Horts on like two filled PET bottles rubbing together in a 6-pack – would describe it as squeaking. First, of course, I looked under my seats. And in the inside It actually seems to come from the engine room or the partition to the engine room. What I could find out so far – you can only hear it in connection with shock – e.g. drive over threshold etc – the noise seems to appear only when the engine is running – however I could only try to shake the car in the stand not the man power to roll it off with the engine – I thought it had something to do with the engine compartment flap (e.g. the rubber between The noise is not related to the motor load -magnetic ride and sport mode on/off makes no difference – the noise does not come from the stereo system So someone has had a similar problem before or a clue what it might be. I believe the noise to have noticed all the first times after the car cleaning. I was washing the engine at the same time. me and the cover is always closed. Thanks for your help LG Steven

  • Exhaust tuning on R8 V8 4.2

Moin Men, I’m asking myself a question. I’m thinking if I don’t buy my R8 another exhaust system. Since I’m no longer standing on “just loud”, I’m thinking a lot about OB and HOW to do the whole thing. A very important question here is the performance of the vehicle. The car has flaps installed in the exhaust. Why is that so? They open and close even during the ride. So audible. At high speed the vehicle becomes increasingly la uter- really great! The flaps are closed at low pressure, should this cause more torque from the lower speed band ? That would be my only question, because almost all the systems that I like and are not too loud do not work. These are just bare rear silencers systems. I thank you already in advance. and many greetings from Hamburg

  • Audi R8, where’s the price going?

Hello together, short to my person. I am 22 years old. I have recently finished my training and have a permanent job. My dream is to own an r8. Now I’m also a realist. At some point (except I win in the lottery etc.) I will probably earn between 2000-3000 euro net. So normal averaged. Sure I can now also work on a small house with garden and a VW golf, but at some point when I’m old I would look back But now I have seen that there is already Audi r8 for ~50,000€. Of course they have already down to the 100,000km. But is that really nothing for a V8 or V10? Will start now already every month something to put aside, currently I live alone in the parental home so no rent has to pay etc.. But I also don’t think that I will come to an R8 in the near future. Just how does it look in 5 or 10 years n out? Is a r8 bj 2008 only 30.000€ expensive? Do the “old” r8 then already have so gross defects that you can’t pay for the maintenance anymore? Can you keep it at 2000€ net at all? If you don’t have a lot of rental expenses and the like in principle. It would be a dream for me, clearly nobody has a glass ball that can say “it looks like this in 5 years” but maybe you can guess where the trip is going somehow. I personally can that absolutely not. Thank you and greeting

  • Brake problems Front left Rear left

Hello municipality, I have for some time the following problem: After changing the original brake discs (round not wavy) front and rear with coverings and quiet driving mode, both left brake discs have moved to approx. 2000km. These were measured and were actually warped, my guess was that after a highway ride I cleaned the left side in the guard box first and caused by the thermal difference of the brake discs delay. NOT by the Driving. As a result, I had all four brake discs replaced by the newer version (well) . So now after approx. 2000Km I hane the same problem and could notice that the left discs are much more loaded since I have not washed the car jetez after 1500km for the first time EVERYTHING more brake dust on the left wheels , moreover , I hane that the left discs are always hot and therefore probably the wear and tear of the discs stir t. So now the question I have to understand the technical why the left side probably has a higher brake pressure, already initially built up. Otherwise I can not explain the wear?? Are there two different brake circuits, left, right and are they driven differently??? Where can the error lie??? Who has ideas?? Many DANK for hints Pictures Brake dust and holes Comparison left / right

  • Spare part carrying joint M12

In the first years of Lambo, Hi Audi installed the axle handlebars with M12 support joints and then switched them to M14. With this conversion, there are no spare parts anymore and there is a damage completely per axle to M14. Alternatively, if a free rearrangement of Audi is rejected, there is a supplier of the support joints in M12, right in the picture. Tom

  • Battery support device

Hello, since I am currently working a lot with the ignition on the R8 I would be interested in a tip regarding a good battery support pot. Charging function is not interesting, at the most it can charge lithium batteries. It would be important that it could supply as much power as possible in order to compensate for the losses caused by the ignition and actuator diagnostics so that the battery does not suck out (think from 20A). Is there something that is also attractive in terms of price? or does it all move in the professional workshop area (priced)?
