Hello together, I have the appearance of the control lamp in the cockpit again and again sporadically with my R8 V8. It turns on, sometimes stays on 1-2 days, and then goes off by itself. Finally it has stopped – and I drove to the workshop (Audi) for safety reasons. There the error memory was read out and I was told that the “catalyst bank 1” as well as the “control chain with chain tensioner” must be exchanged. My question: Had ever been of you I have already noticed a few times that someone has complained about the error of a wrong assignment in the range camshaft / crankshaft, then the problem has “resolved” itself, however, because it only appeared sporadically. In how far can one really trust the reading? And what costs do there estimate to come to me? For the cat the engine must already out, and the control chain also only replaces when the block outside Is…?! Greetings

Serial number vs Year of manufacture vs FIS Color
Hello, Would like to buy me an R8 and am just on a sightseeing tour to find the right one. Today I visited one, in which optically everything fits, but the history for me is not quite clear. That had serial number 243, so should be one of the first built. But first registration is in mid-2008 and he has white FIS, although the yesterday visited with SN 4584 still had red FIS and EZ 4/2009 was. Furthermore, at a KM stand of 23,000 the driver’s seat was on the side sc hon optically ripped off, which I cannot understand. Hello everybody, has any of you brake pads from Bosch or TRW installed on the R8? Since there is a price difference of more than 400,- €, can you hit it without hesitation or do I save it at the wrong end? EPC and motor control lamp on
Hello together, I have had a strange problem with my R for a few days. The engine started to stutter easily at 50 km/h driving speed (so from 2000 rpm) and later 1-2 kilometers also the EPC and motor control light went on. R8 (current model)…after software update suddenly exhaust sound worsened?
Hello guys, my R8 (model year 2016, current model) had to be installed in the workshop so that my license plates would be installed (the vehicle was driving for a while on dealer’s license plate, was part of the deal) and a small handover inspection as well as an oil change would be carried out. At handover I claimed that the windscreen wipers did not clean properly and probably did not have enough press pressure. So far, so good. Yesterday, after a week’s vacation, I picked up my vehicle again. kstatt a software update was carried out so that the wipers wipe better. If you don’t know the relation, just pass it on. As soon as I started I noticed that the “spouting” of the exhaust in manual dynamic driving mode, when switching down the gears, was completely gone. Nada. Nothing! As a rule, the exhaust popped really nice, almost too loud and even at low speeds. t was, it was still a bit better (direct) than before but for that the sound in the lower speed range was also “fuffy”, because you just didn’t have to give so much gas to get to speed. My son noticed this change as the first, I pushed the mauen sound on the cold engine. Unfortunately, nothing changed on the way home. Please don’t misunderstand: At high speeds the sound is as before but below 4000 rpm the volume is reduced and the A similar story was allowed by Porsche at the 991 Carrera S with sports exhaust, the people drove into the workshop, got a software update and the boxes were suddenly quieter or this “spreading” was gone or strongly dampened. What now? Even if the dealer admits this, there should probably not be a “legal” way to downgrade to the old software. I am anyway STINKSAUER. Does someone have an idea what to do? could be? (No, I don’t want another exhaust for extra money…) and how to address the problem with the workshop? Thank you!

Open exhaust flaps in the city center forbidden?!?!
Hi, was stopped the day before yesterday by the Kripos belonged to the “autoposer” group haha. The thought mei car would be loud and I should drive with closed flaps. R8 V10 JG2010: Clutch through at 24000KM??
Hello dear boys and girls Time so a question in the round to your opinion: I got a good 2 weeks ago n’en used V10 Spyder, 23000 on the clock, BJ2010, hand switched. I then just drive to Leverkusen (a few 100KM from Switzerland; yes, I come here) to do the inspection in the AZ; inspection OK, then I drive on to the nice guys, who do the 2013 Facelift conversions, and on the short drive there the clutch gets to me. Boys (thanks to BOND6872/Iggi, Klaus and Co!!) towed the car back to the AZ Leverkusen after a change of lights on their trucks. There is a clutch. I have to wait a week because only then an expert can be there to take the clutch apart (for the small chance that it is possible despite “cover part” on guarantee); but according to AZ I have to pull off probably about 4500EUR for parts and work. Autschi. I would take wonder what the R8 experts in the forum here davo I don’t know how the previous owner drove, but you have to deal with the thing really badly to get it in case of a technically flawless clutch, right? Cheers from Switzerland (just take the plane home, instead of the highway, went about the same length :P).

Rattles V8 4.2
Hello together I have found a “rattle” at my Spyder. The rattle occurs, e.g. in the second gear, slightly undertoured, accelerated. This noise comes from behind. My garage suspected a loose part, e.g. the heat shield. Today the whole rear was dismantled, unfortunately without success. Currently the request is running at Audi in Switzerland and in Germany. The mechanics suspect a problem in the gearbox. Until this evening it was not yet clear how it continues and whether i We decided to leave the Spyder on the spot and wait for the report. The car has now just 1’000km on the clock. I now got a new S8 as a replacement (520 hp) also not bad. 😉 Gruss Traugottle
