  • Crack in the turbocharger housing … what now?

    I don’t know if it’s already caught one or the other, but my turbocharger has a crack (see Topic *g*). Now the question is how to counter the problem most usefully. The engine (180 HP Quattro) has now dropped 142 TKM … – is it worth welding a small crack ? (can’t recognize exactly yet ?) How big is that) and if welding then also immediately let the loader general overtake? So a repair costs how much and where can one do this best ? – if above should not be feasible because cost-benefits are not in proportion .. what then ? “Only” exchange against serial turbo ? Cost ? Other “larger” Turbo installation / Tuning at 140TKM still useful ? Cost ? – what else ? Would you like to hear your opinion about it. Greeting Jens

    Answer: Think yes. After some discussions about additional instruments such as charge pressure, oil pressure etc. were here, the following variant was also brought into play once.   • Chipping with ABT or Wimmer

    Hi people I’m wondering where I’m going to have my TT chip. Everyone here in the forum is raving about Wimmer. It’s also a really good impression. However, I’ve noticed the following offer at ABT for 2320 euros: –> 1,8T (8N) Tuning on 225 hp with 315 Nm –> new Abt turbocharger in OEM quality (in exchange with your serial loader), –> special Abt suction tube –> modification of motor electronics –> assembly, warranty and TÜV included A similar offer at Wimmer but to 240 hp with plus. Sprot air filter costs just over 6000 euros. The simple version with 215 hp and 300 Nm costs just under 1000 euros. So, what do you do?

  • Audi TT curb weight ?

    Hi TT fans, what kind of curb weight do you actually have in your vehicle license? I heard that there are no fixed rules for measuring the curb weight, that is, every manufacturer can specify it as he wants. One with a half-full tank of the other with one person again another kommplett empty without everything. In my case (944s2) it is so that in the vehicle license 1240Kg stand and in different sources 1310kg become gennant. Since the TT somehow seems particularly difficult to me I think that you also have other values in appearance.
