  • First aid kit – expiry date

Minced meat has a date “to consume until xx xx xx” yoghurt has a date for the “minimum durability”, drugs have a date “usable until: xx xx” xx”, the first-aid kit has a “fall date” . I have to go to HU with my car in January and have found that the first-aid kit carries the “dead date 2011-06” . It is five years old, original packed and unopened. I object to simply throwing away the part, even if there is an offer at Aldi for 5.99 euros. Who is allowed to extend / change this date? Who is able to determine whether the content is still usable and conforms to DIN? Can a pharmacist change the date after checking the contents? What do you do with old dressing boxes? Greeting k2

  • Motorcycle TÜV expired – unsubscribe?

Hey! I am in a rather stupid position, actually I should have had my TÜV extended already in August. Due to various health problems and hospital visits I unfortunately did not get there until today (I drove this year also practically only once….). Please no comments from because of “One afternoon you would have certainly had time” or “Ask someone else.”. Now unfortunately it is so that the insurance as well as the season only goes until the end of October. With my nä Today and tomorrow, unfortunately, nothing will be done by TÜV-Stellen. Now I would like to know what the “most sensible” is: – Register your motorcycle, put it in the garage and make it new next year in the spring TÜV and registration? – What about the insurance? Just keep running? or do I have to inform you about the registration?

  • Leave away the flywheel on motorcycles!?

Hello, maybe I get brand-wide opinions here. I had the left engine housing cover removed from my Ducati 916 Biposto, year 04.98. to get to the flywheel. I had actually planned to install an aluminium (Ergal) flywheel of about 400 grams, the series steel swingwheel weighs about 1.4 kg! Now I could completely omit the flanged flywheel, because no sensors of this scanning. My local Ducati dealer, however, said that the engineb remse then would be too strong, so that, for example, in the event of sudden gas removal in a curve that would block the rear wheel for a short time, and the motorcycle could slide away! Kämna, a tuning motorcycle forge, which sells ultra-light flywheels, said that a flywheel relief would not cause any danger or block the rear wheel through the engine brake. Did any of you experience using aluminum flywheels or completely omitting the flywheel? Greeting Peter

  • Purchase advice: Used travel enduro for big people wanted (max. 8.000 €)

Hello together, as a photographer I am a lot on the road (and out of passion) in the Nordic countries like Iceland and Norway and after the last years with off-road cars and also ATV/Quad got more and more craving for a motorcycle and last summer then finally catch up with the driver’s license (A unlimited). I am now looking for a machine for 75% road and 25% terrain. In Iceland it is often coarser gravel roads. Hardcore terrain is not really (with me) present . The focus is clearly on long and comfortable travel and a lot of luggage should also be included. Therefore, I fit well into the scheme of the travel duos. However, I grew at 2 meters rather large, which is not sooo problematic in the category of motorcycles, as I thought. The GS 800 (without a low seat) was very suitable and drove nicely. However, I do not know whether this is sufficient for me in the long term. Therefore, the 1200 would perhaps already be a nice number. 1200 GS Adventure was a bit too “thick”, looking for something slimmer. I will put the thing in Iceland often in the dirt … I know the slopes and their pitfalls (sand!) now well enough… Now the question arises to me, what is there besides the BMW GS universe still for brands and model that could fit for a large Viking? I am not very demanding in terms of design. My budget without accessories is 8,000 EUR and I am looking for something z Uverlässige and with the most important safety features and definitely ABS. I’m not necessarily the screwdriver – the machine should therefore not be too exotic. Thank you in advance! Greetings Jan

  • Intermediate

Tach Freunde. On 26.11.09 I asked you how to make motorcycle riding safer. I also promised a balance sheet at the end of the year. I could not keep this promise until now, there are still none. Therefore I want to give you an interim balance so that no one thinks that the collector lets us brain and then tip into the stream. I have summarized all the contributions and collected the individual proposals and clustered them. Essentially first in 2 pillars: Assets (Co The question of how the choice of the bike affects the way of driving and whether a Gixxer driver drives faster and, if necessary, more risky than the Choppercruiser, has also posed itself to insurers, a corresponding link found itself in the letters and contributions. I can now say so much: we are working on it. I have found someone who organizes training. I have someone who is working on it. And I have the young colleagues in the boat who want to know more about the subject. And I have found that there is no line under it. It is a dynamic process, the way is the goal. Again, thank you to all who have contributed with advice and expertise. Greeting from the collector

  • Brief introduction and a question about technology

Hello Mopedgemeinde, I, M 34, salesman, now after a very long break (family founded, children get) want to do the driving license class A unlimited (which also otherwise) and get me a moped again. Yes, again, I drove from the tender 14th year until about 22, 50’s-125’s-400’s, everything in Jugendliches Leichtsinn ohne FS. You don’t need to scold, we were all young times and have made bleak, and how I learned from it. From 30 on you see the world with family and children differently . I’m going to look at a Kawasaki GPZ 600R on Saturday, the seller said the carburettor has to be cleaned at the phone. Now my question: if I expand the carburettors to the “normal” clean, don’t say anything misplaced or something, do I have to make a new vote in the factory town? What would it cost me, if I had to do it, round, in an open WS? Certainly I have other questions but you already have many here in the forum “almost” to 100 I’ve been reading with you for a few months, and now I’ve been through you in the motorcycle area to join in and sign up.

  • Question of a worried father….

Hello, my son wants to buy a 10 year old Aprilia RS 125 (roughly, because of A1) and has already taken one into consideration. The frame has approx. 30000 km on the hump, the replacement engine approx. 12000 km. The son of a two-wheeled mechanic has installed the engine, as well as other parts. Now my questions: Are 10 years and 30000 km driving performance not too much for the aluminum frame, I think especially about the fatigue and embrittlement of the material aluminum. If you could help me make the decision, I’d like to do a craft job. Thank you very much.

  • Move: Only 1st gear or idle

Hello! I would like to push my Kawasaki ER5, because the battery is as good as flat. Hupe is no longer possible, light is only flickering. Some fun bird has turned on the standlight in our communal garage. To push/roll on I use the small descent into the garage. I get about 20 km/h speed on it. At the first attempt in the first gear the wheels blocked completely. In addition, it can be pushed with pulled coupling only hard in the first. Then I read that it is best to push in the second gear. Unfortunately, I can’t get it in. After inserting the first gear I can get back into the idle, but from then on I can’t get higher. So the gears can’t be installed in the stand at all. Must add that my bike was now about 1 year unused in the garage. However, I did a round down there every few months, so nothing rusts up. The last half year it wasn’t moved at all. Thank you for your advice. I am really grateful for every help!
