  • Wanted: The ideal motorcycle camera

At the moment I am building a new camera system, because you can’t buy a really good one yet. I will not continue the old one after wear of the third DV camcorder. My current SD camcorder for this (Aiptek 8800) is not the wisdom of the last conclusion for many reasons. But at least he has an AV input for the connection of a Bullet cam. But certainly someone knows a camcorder, which meets as much of the following conditions as possible: – a mind estens TV-compatible image quality – SD-storage – splash-proof – a good wobble compensation – a 12-volt connection, at least one current input – a suitable attachment on the handlebar or elsewhere. – A LANC socket, so that you can press the camera with a thumb pressure and switch it off again, without looking at it and without taking the hand of handlebars. – The housing please as compact as possible. It does not have to lie well in the hand, that is n – The camera runs without a closed control monitor. – An AV input to connect a second camera, between which you can switch back and forth. With gloves. Please enter the forum here.

  • Fuel consumption of motorcycles contemporary?

A non-overmotorized average motorcycle like a Bandit 650 with 78 hp needs 100 km between 5 and 7 liters Super with an unladen weight of less than 250 kg. With my car I need between five and six liters Super. However, this is more than 4x so heavy and large and has significantly more engine capacity and 40 hp more power. A current BMW 320i has a standard consumption of 5.3 liters with the five times the weight and more than twice the power. I have the impression that the efficiency of motorcycle engines was stuck in the 70s and no manufacturer is thinking about changing anything. Something is not really right with motorcycles in terms of consumption. I think it’s necessary to say that. Am I the only one who finds it wrong? Is there a problem with motorcycles in terms of consumption?

  • Twenty-five more…

Thanks to the reintroduction of the old registration marks, completely new possibilities have emerged in terms of desired registration marks – the selection was suddenly huge again! Here in the circle there are currently 25 (!) registration marks with a letter and a number, among them combinations for motorists (which these combinations may also have thanks to the small motorcycle signs!) such as – X 5 or – X 6 or – i 8 for BMW drivers and other combinations suitable for car models. e me also for the next registrations send short numbers reserved (right, a few minutes ago there were still more than 25 combinations in length or better short…). I probably only need these from autumn, but a combination with circle – letter number is nice to look at, isn’t it? Since you can now – at least here – book online for one year, you should think about the next vehicle change at times, if your own number does not really like… Greeting Michael

  • Affordable Navi for the motorcycle ?

I’ve been working through the WWW for a few weeks looking for a good but affordable navigation system for the motorcycle. Before, Autonavis and mobile phones are not suitable for me, because not waterproof, no route planning on the PC possible and poorly readable screen in good weather. My price frame is ~260€.Tours should be planable on the PC,cards should be up-to-date later, the mount should be stable and the navigation should be loaded via the motorcycle & self-service So far: 1.Garmin Zumo 220. Would vll be the right device for me, but unfortunately ~350€,which means quite expensive.2.TomTom Urban Rider ,about 250€ . Comes on the market only in the next few days, there is too little information about it.The battery should hold up to 8h,but the Navi does not seem to be chargeable over the motorcycle.Very bad ,so that also out for me.3.also niegelnagelneu NavGear Tourmate mx-350 ,TopVersion for 200 €.http://www.pearl.de/a-PX4594-5482.shtml . Has someone experience with the part and may also recommend it ?4.Then there is the Becker Traffic Assist 100 Crocodile for 150€. Tour planning does not seem to be possible. More devices I did not find… What do you think about NavGear ? but rather save and buy the Garmin ?

  • Currently at the beginning of the season: How do you get the most out of it?

No matter if control or speed cameras. Order keepers will gladly give the motorcyclists special attention from spring. You have built some crap, know that too and to save the fine, you take your right to excuse. Which was the best – and did it work?

  • Practice, but where?

Moin moin, for this season I have planned to practice and not only to tear KM. I count to this e.g. slalom, dodge, brake and so much more Now the question is where?! On public roads, even if unpropelled I do not know if it is allowed or if it might feel disturbed…. With the driving school we have either been in the industrial area, where always the driving instructor more or less “secures”… If I do not drive alone. Also we are on a federal woe There, however, only driving schools are allowed, for vehicles of any kind the passage is forbidden…https://www.google.de/maps/@53.04779.8613562.80m/data=!3m1!1e3 What do you think of this “road”, this is provided that g-Maps is currently locked off only from the airfield itself. Of course, one would have to ask if it is allowed… Where else can you ask? Do you have ideas, where did you practice earlier?

  • What’s this in the forum here?

I know that this isn’t a motorcycle theme, but maybe someone here knows what it’s supposed to be? In all the forums where I am, there are always 3 topics on top, supposedly I wrote posts on the topic of “cement mixers”, “shining” and “cleaning sticks”. But if I click on it, these articles don’t exist at all. What is this???

  • Strange sign

Attention! This thread might not be quite serious! I have noticed signs in the Harz, where I had to think about what the initiator was thinking about. Yesterday I stopped on my lap and photographed one of them. Quite obviously the stylized driver on the sign is hanging the curve. So what should be communicated to the motorcyclist? Here is a track on which one can practice for the race track / should? The curves from here. r can only be mastered hangingly? From here follows Gaudi? Give the last!!! Perhaps this is one of the joke signs that wants to convey a message with subtle irony?

  • What do you expect from BMW’s new S 1000 RR…

“Motorcycle” has already tested it with the other super sportsmen and placed it in first place. The machine scores especially in the areas “motor, everyday life” and “costs”. I see for my pleasure that the front has finally been corrected. I feel sorry for all those who bought an old 1000 RR and have glued off a headlight to create the symmetry. Here are two pictures.

  • Original alternatives to luggage systems?

I have a motorcycle without luggage racks and spacers, and it should stay that way, because I mostly drive around without things. I was traveling, so my Kriega back pocket and my backpack had to pass me. Now I plan a tour, there must be more with. Was with Louis and am just online looking for luggage solutions. Nothing convinced me yet. Either only with additional poles and holders, or too expensive, or too ugly, or everything at once. I don’t want to play the motorcycle driver like in Saigon or Nairobi, but I’d be interested in what alternatives were invented, crafted, bought here in order to go on a serious journey with some luggage.
