  • the cheap way of motorcycling

Moin moin! Had a similar topic at the beginning of the year and take it up now changed again. To clarify the circumstances: I come from Hamburg and work in Hamburg. Who comes from close up knows that it is at the moment even worse than usual in traffic and nothing changes about it the next years. So I am thinking of getting a two-wheeler to commute because one is nevertheless a little more brisk in traffic jam/city traffic. I am moppedlos for about four years and want to au Not for trips, not for an OKF and not for going on holiday. Occasionally, when I feel like it and the weather is right for about 60km and 60km back again. Style should be “timeless”, i.e. naked. The optical condition does not matter, only the technical. What do you think of the following models: Honda CB 750 Yamaha XJ 650 Suzuki GS 650 all year beginning of the 80s. On my route I also have motorway, from which the bike should have at least 70hp. Other model -Proposals are welcome! I want to spend as little as possible, max. 1000€. What do you think about the project and the models? Thank you!

  • Step speed

Moin together, please don’t laugh I had my 2 place hours. In the second hour I should drive around pylons with 30 no problem. Turn at 5 kmh and the Duke falls around (A1). again of everything turn again duke falls around. so today first time on the road, no problems (standard things, blinker distance…). Hour by my instructor says “drive on the driveway. I wanted to hit the left took the curve too fast and took almost the pfosten with me. give me tips on how to cope better with the pace? My instructor no longer knows many thanks

  • Eyes on when buying accessories, the x-te.

In most cases it is cheaper to buy spare parts in the accessories than from the brand dealer. But only in most and not in all. The fact that it is also the other way around shows the company Hornig from the Bavarian Cham, which has specialized in accessories for BMW. On their website I landed on the search for an adapter cable to connect the Navi to the cartool – cable of the K 1300 GT. Only limp 19.95 Euro calls this company for the article, which in the Herste I bought the identical article from BMW (AHG Balingen): 5,65 costs the part with the friendly. Price difference 14,30 euros. I call the behavior of the company Hornig Abzocke.

  • Mirrored visor

Moin, I know, I know, mirrored visors are not allowed in the area of the StVO. Do now – purely theoretically, of course – a biker with such a visor and would agree, what punishment would he then face? I ask the question only for inexhaustible interest

  • For my motorcycle helmet: where to buy polar bear, teddy or comb? To stick over the helmet! 🙂

Hello, I’m looking for something for my motorcycle helmet that you can put over the helmet. As an example I had seen a few days ago: There is a teddy head with fur ears for the motorcycle helmet. It’s made of plush in white. Is there (yellowish) somewhere in England. But is not glued on it, but has a elastic band. It is then pushed over the helmet. Looks like a polar bear – right and left ears. Something like that – or something like that someone knows where I can get the helmet. someone knows an online shop? I found nothing on eBay. Thank you in advance!

  • Bye season, goodbye with smiles.

This year, it seems, the summer 2013 and thus this year’s motorcycle season, with bright sunshine and great temperatures. Dear November pedestrians! Think of the year-round riders with regret when you push your planer into the garage on 01.11.2013 – we torture ourselves still for a while through the road traffic… *Towel rich

  • Bike (roller) for the city

Servus, as the title already says, I am looking for a small bike (possibly also a scooter) for the city and short cross country distances. (also often two times) I have a 600er standing at home, but it is just too big for me for the ride to the university, fast times to the city, shopping etc.. Had a 50er scooter before that, but this was sold because you didn’t get in traffic. Thought now on a bike or scooter from 125cc. Since the money is not so thick, I would want to spend a maximum of 1400. What kind of models would you recommend to me? Had I looked at the Yamaha YBR 125 at the bikes and would also get it from 900-1300. But also the Suzuki GN 250 is in my eye. But what about a bike of 96? Do they still do what or are you often in the workshop? Have no screwdriver skills at all and just want to have a robust, economical and inexpensive vehicle. With the scooters I have the Honda SHi125, the Dylan 125 and d he Daelim Otello looks at 125 versions with injector. Oh yes, with some 125 Choppers I only see a speedometer, not a tachometer. How do you find out the switching points there? And what about the danger of too high speeds? You don’t notice it if you would come into the “red range “. Or can you not get these motors so high, since they lock off before? Thanks already for the infos Greetings

  • Motorcyclists and their hand signs

Hello dear two-wheeler colleagues! The most well-known communication sign, which even can drivers know, is the typical biker greeting. Two or more bikers meet and stretch out the left hand and/or arm, according to the motto “Hey, Hello buddy”. Besides this greeting sign I know more: 1. the turn signal is still on => left hand and several times in a row a fist ball and open again or instead of the fist a mouth movement imitating with the hand 2. After the overtaking process, take the right leg from the rest and stretch out or stretch out the right hand down 3. Obstacles on the road => in the case of an obstacle on the right side of the road, stretch out the right foot and, in the case of a left obstacle, stretch out the left foot (alternatively point with the left hand on it) 4. show other road users that they should drive slower (Gr and: Radar control, accident site ect.) => left hand stretch out and wave with the flat hand several times up and down 4. let a faster biker (traffic participant) pass => left arm stretch out and wave with the hand from the back to the front But there seems to be a whole series of more hand signs. I attached two pictures which show further variants and at youtube there are some videos (mainly English) on this topic. I would be interested now. How do you have experienced rabbits with the hand signs. Are you familiar with these signs and do you use them or do you have your own creations?

  • Motorcycle transport USA and sale on site?

Hello together Since I haven’t found a lot of clever things about the search yet, the following question arises: I would like to do a bigger motorcycle tour in Canada+USA in about a year (about 3-5 months). Rent is therefore not worth it def.. After having rummaged a little bit on American used motorcycle boards, I came to the conclusion that a purchase of a R 1200 GS or adventure on site probably not worthwhile, since I get these here cheaper. I also put it mi ergo: buy here and then ship. The costs for this (about 1200-1400 Euro) are still within the scope. 1. Question: Has a tip on a forwarding company or even had good experience with one? 2. Question: Is it possible to sell the mopped in the USA, so basically to import it? Are dealers ready to pay something decent for it (incl. conversion to milestacho etc.) ode r it’s more worth sending the bike back to Europe? I hate to do the latter, because the trip should then continue with other means of transportation (South America, Australia, New Zealand, Asia). So I don’t want to go home to be able to sell the box again and then continue the trip… Thanks for your help in advance

  • Route Check Harz

Hoi, I have the pleasure of moving a KTM 690 SMC R for 4 days next month, staggered in the afternoon pick-up (day 1), 2 days free of charge and left again on day 4 mornings. The good piece is picked up at Jena, since I have a sleeping possibility in the Harz in Friedrichsbrunn, I will also aim at this to start from there. I just put together routes by motoplaner and would ask local people to look over if they would Day 1 – Pick up until overnight day 2 – Dam and then around the Harz day 3 I have nothing, since I am open for suggestions day 4 would be planned then like day 1, only backward How many kilometers are in the history incl., I don’t know yet, mostly are 600km, therefore the tours are not very long chosen. Grob would have been counted now around 400km, stayed I’m open to suggestions. The starting / end point is Friedrichsbrunn.
