  • Silkes Moped: The tank

“What smells like that?” The hold ruffles the nose. “Old fuel and phosphoric acid, I have to make a tank.” “So… she looks at the little thing. “But it’s small, who owns it?” “A friend… don’t you know.” It promises to be a contemplative Saturday night. In the workshop it’s chubby warm, cold outside. The new door is much better isolated than the old window. After I spend the last nights at Stuttgarter Bahnhof around the I finally take time for the tank of Silkes Suzuki GT 50 project, as I promised her. Silke put a tank, a petrol tap and the small carburetor of the GT 50 into my hands with confidence. Now it is necessary to justify this trust. Inventory: The tank is mercilessly rusted inside, glued on the outside with 30 year old metal foils and has two decent dents on the right side, moreover it is surrounded by the stubs. The right bottom edge is also hit and rusty. The gas tap is soaked, the tank cap is extremely crusty and the filter screen in the tank probably didn’t let through any rust broth anymore. So let’s go. I’ll show you the pictures (Unfortunately I’m not as good a photographer as Silke – Hello Silke… ) then we’ll go straight on… if you’re interested…

  • Motorcycle trailers without etra “carrier license”?!

Hi all, I’m currently discussing… The question is whether I can pull a motorcycle trailer with a “normal” B driver’s license. Actually yes, so up to 750 kg total weight or towing vehicle and trailer must not exceed 3.5 tons. Now it says “I take only unbraked attachments”. Others say “this doesn’t matter the main thing in total not over 3.5 tons”. e.g. my vehicle weighs without inns and its brim 1340 kg support load: 75 kg allowed e trailer load braked: 930 kg permissible trailer load unbraked: 550 kg Theory: 3500 kg – [1340 Kg car + (2 x 80 kg people) + (2 x 20 kg luggage?) + (2 x 200 kg motorcycles) + 150 kg trailer estimated] = approx.1410 Kg left. i.e. a) I could pull heavier trailers. e.g. a braked and B) how do I theoretically determine the support load to be generated?

  • TÜV – Fees – Opaque ? Here is a remedy…

Hello friends Due to my “car park” “the TÜV” is a constant topic for me. In addition to the “normal” AU and HU, registrations or even so-called “full reports”, i.e. expert reports for obtaining the type approval, are due again and again. Is there no longer any more? Is there still, e.g. when you import a motorcycle from Switzerland, or just no papers are available and you have taken an affidavit that one also belongs to the planer. I was able to find out recently that the same is calculated differently. For example, a VGA cost 67.73 Euro at TÜV Süd inspection centre A, at inspection centre B “only” 60.69 Of course I checked, then I was told lapidar that I should give my bank details, they will refund me the difference amount. Not with the collector… there I am stubborn like a mule. Since I have not seen a complete price list yet, on the TÜV test sheet only “fee xx.xx Euro is a small (26 kB) pdf file, I try to see if this can be attached here. Interestingly the text of the mail: Dear Sir … as an attachment we send you the currently valid fee overview. In case of acceptances §19 and §21 the price can be by the official hour rate of 87.10 € depending on the time spent by research This height can only be determined after acceptance. {Price list grossto01.01.2009.pdf} Best regards / Kind regards blabla TÜV Süd Greeting from the collector…

  • Which motorcycle is beginner friendly (A1 and A2)

Hello! I’m Eve and I’m 20 years old. I made my A1 driver’s license at 18, unfortunately it never came to me that I bought a motorcycle and could gain some experience because I’m no longer financially dependent on my parents and I’m able to buy a motorcycle, I want to catch up! Now my first question is if it’s still worth buying an A1 machine and driving around with it for a few years and really riding a motorcycle. I don’t want to drive around with an A1 forever. I’ve heard from all my friends and acquaintances that you don’t have any fun in the long run if you go there anymore. The second question would be, if the A2 driver’s license is worth more now, how much would it cost me? I’ve heard that you could only take a test. How does it go exactly? I haven’t driven for 2 years now and I think this would be a total disaster without a few hours. I don’t want to spend more than €8,000 on the motorcycle and the driver’s license. Now my third and last question would be which model is beginner friendly! I looked around for a few models, both A1 and A2 and I have to honestly admit that the super athletes did it to me. My father then let me hear that it was not beginner friendly and I should start with a Naked, because these models are There are so many models that make the selection even harder. Especially if you don’t have any experience. That’s why I need your help. I’m also very realistic now and see the fact that it’s probably not going to be a super athlete in the end. In the end, it’s just important to me personally that it’s fun! To me if that’s important for the selection. I’m 1.65m tall and I’m more comfortable. nd weigh 50kg, so it would be great if the bike isn’t all too heavy! Thank you for your help!

  • Motorcycle for 2 m in size/A2

Moin, I might be looking for a new motorcycle. I sold mine 4 years ago (Suzuki Bandit) because I didn’t drive with it anyway, because of my height (2m) earlier another question about my driver’s license. I made my A2 driver’s license in 2014. In the driver’s license there is an *) and in the driver’s license a date + at 12 79.03,79,04. That means as much as I can drive a 3 wheel but not an open motorcycle over 48 HP right? So I still have to drive a bike. So I’m looking for a motorcycle over 35KW with throttle to collect driving practice again and then maybe to do the test so that I can drive without throttle. Can you recommend that to me? I would have thought of Supermoto/Enduro/Tourer/Renner (likely to go away because of size). A chopper would be nothing for me. But as I said, that must fit to my body size. Budget would be so max. 7000 Euro. René

  • Search Sports exhaust for two-cylinder engine

Hello all, I bought the Honda NC 700S. In itself a top motorcycle especially as a beginner like me, however I am not satisfied with the sound. It is just a two-cylinder engine with 670 ccm. Therefore my question: Which sport exhaust brings me a better, sportier sound? Does someone have experiences? Something by the way: I also want a short license plate holder with LED rear light and turn signal. I have already found a few at Ebay but am about the quality n I’m sure. So if someone still has some ideas always come up with Best Greet Marcel

  • Help, have to buy “new” motorcycle!

Hello, must / may buy me a used moped. I’m old XJ – driver, but wants something different. Moped is driven daily (Cologne), all year round… (except in snow), but I’m not fixed on Yamaha, may be something else. Should have over 80 hp, I’m used to 98 (XJ 900), does not have to be a road machine, does Enduro? Achja, 350€ should be enough. I’m grateful for every tip!

  • Motorcycle sale – registered, without license plates – registration/registration request

So I’m trying briefly: My 125s will be picked up tomorrow. It’s still registered, I keep the registration number because it’s a desired number. The buyer gets everything that belongs to it, of course. In a week the new machine comes – this should then be registered or re-registered on my desired number of 125s. Now my questions are: Can the buyer of my 125s unsubscribe with the papers, but without the registration number? Or can he then only re-allow it? The buyer doesn’t come from the same city. Otherwise it would be easy… And if I didn’t WE would just sign them off for safety. If my planning didn’t go, what would you suggest?!? Should he take my license plate and sign it off? (signs back to me by post) Or should I give him the machine without papers (I’ll go off on Monday). Or is there any other way? Thank you!

  • Experience with Polo

Moin and happy restosters together, I bought a new jacket from Spirit Motors last year at Polo. Heisst UK Classic. After about a quarter of a year I rated the jacket twice on the HP by Polo. It was not unlocked at the time. Now I rated the jacket again on 30.03.2013. In the meantime there was already another rating. But this was in contrast to mine, positive. Today I wanted to check if my rating is already in and…… the jacket is completely out of the HP! Is it censored??? Have you already rated something or have you had any experiences?
