  • From when does maintaining the checkbook at HD no longer pay?

From when do you think the care of the checkbook no longer pays? The warranty expires and I decided not to go to the dealer anymore, because the prices are beyond good and evil. I can change oil myself, spark plugs change as well. To the free workshop because of the stamp or simply keep the invoices of the material costs and make themselves (e.g. oil, filter etc.) ? Or rather to the HD dealer? how do you do this ? How important is a stamp in the check hef t. LG

  • Inspection costs 48000 km

Hello, I didn’t find anything in the Su function. Someone had the 48000 inspection done at the Harley Dealer recently for an E-Glide. I’d be interested in what it costs to not be pulled over the table. Is it also possible to inform the dealer that various works, such as brake fluid, gear oil, candles are not carried out, since they were first changed. I’m about to have the inspection done at the dealer, because I’m not interested in having them done. rhabe to sell my bike in the fall and switch to another Harley.

  • Farewell

Hello you crazy and HD lovers. For me this has done my time with HD today. I actually sold my HD Custom today after 3 years of thinking time. This is for me finally the topic of Harley Davidson history. I also can not imagine that I would buy or will buy one again. With me the topic is over 20 years and it somehow doesn’t appeal to me any more. The then purchase of the bike was the reason why I am here at M T landed. I spent a lot of time with MT and with you really, laughed, wept, and above all a lot of useful things can take with you. For this to all a fat thank you even if many who have accompanied me over years have gone long before me. But you never know what comes like this. You never should say I will read here and there with very interesting topics and maybe also give me my unasked mustard sometimes but hold me back as much as possible. I always make a good ride with your bikes and do it well. I say Adios and good trip.

  • Misignitions in M8 models

Servus with each other, I’m new here and I registered because I couldn’t find any answers to my question. I explained the starting situation quickly. I had a Fat Bob 114 with the M8 engine and a Jekill & Hyde flap exhaust system. For me at the time of the hammer! After some time I was driven over a pile and finally I got my money from the opposing insurance (since not self-inflicted) transitionally a Sportster Iron 883 mi Now I am standing between two models in the decisive decision: Low Rider ST 117 as a new bike with J&H for an unbeatable price Slim S 110 SE with a kess. The Low Rider can be horny, is more comfortable and practical The Slim S is just brutal! Is there a way, in the best case on a legal way, to read the new Milwaukee 8 machine even more “reddishly” as the Twin Cams sound I would hate to do without all the banging and popping of the Aga from the Twin Cams. Is there anything possible about shutting down thrust (without motor/cat etc. To destroy)? Does anyone have experiences? Would mega be grateful for fruitful answers, as I am now facing the decision. Best regards

  • Gear oil level falls, primary drive oil increases

Hello everybody. I have an unusual problem with my 2012 Street glide. During a distance of approx. 2000 kilometers I have to gradually refill a total of 0.8 liters of oil into the gearbox. There is no oil leak. For this, the oil level of the primary drive increases exactly by this 0.8 liter. Does anyone know this phenomenon? Or does anyone have an explanation for this? Thank you in advance Thom

  • Tickering/tacking on Twin Cam 103

Hi we are just on vacation and now almost 1000 km on the road. Be a few days I have turned out a ticking off stand gas until about 1800 U. The noise annoys me now to whom we are on the road. Was definitely not before. From about 2000 U everything is normal. If it is cold, the ticking is still a little louder. Engine otherwise runs perfectly. If it were a hydro, I would think it would be louder. So it was at least with my Shovelhead. Is also only a ticking and not a clacker. I already thought about the chain tensioner. As oil I have 10 W40 in it. The fox oil 10 W 60 should according to. Statement of some Twin Cam drivers the noises a little minimize. Can one of you clarify me there? Remote diagnosis is of course always difficult. I would explain the ticking due to the oil pressure. I’m just not sure if it is a normal working noise at Twin Cam. ????? Greetings from the peninsula Usedom. Frank

  • Catatrophic effort to adjust the HR axis

Only to align the rear wheel in the middle, to carry out 1/4 to 1/2 belt tension screw rotation on the right side, such a circumstance and effort. Who builds such a thing. With no Japanese, or Italian this is so elaborate ! Procedure. 1) On the right the wheel nut cover does not go off, because the distance to the upper silencer is too narrow. 2) To pull off the upper silencer, or to release, you have to remove the lower one first, otherwise you do not reach the holding screws of the upper one. 3) da l Inks on the thru-axle a splint can be installed after successful removal of the thru-axle, this is not plugged from the other side, because the nut cap is much wider on the left and this therefore still does not fit right between the nut and the upper muffler 4) one would only solve left, where one gets well with a 32 nut, so it is probably not possible to move the axis to the right slightly forward, which is the plan of the actual of the action. 5) However kan If you don’t grab the right axle adjuster (dental belt tensioner), neither with a fork key, nor with a multi-tooth wrench, because you have to grind it thinner to put it on. The good thing is that you don’t even need a lifter, because by rolling back and forth, an alignment of the tooth rims would take place.

  • Headlight hood for sportster / complaint during motorcycle inspection

Hi Biker! Yesterday I had the “Meeting of the Third Kind” on an exit, at which a motorcycle control of the police for my – since the beginning in 1993 and by ten TÜV-controls remained uncomplained “frontlight panel showed me the yellow card (representation) . I have now dismantled the part – for the time being – and would be interested however, whether anyone had a similar complaint (at TÜV or traffic control ). 🙂 hgmue

  • Total damage 2009 Ultra with 120r engine goes to Lithuania.

For information and warning! My total damage has just been picked up by a scrap buyer. It was also said that the scrap heap (2700€ repair costs) will be resold to Lithuania. I could bet that the Ultra will reappear with the VIN 5HD1FC4179Y639554 as accident-free… On the moped everything is damaged except engine, transmission and radio. So: Eyes on the mopped purchase! Is no import car…but still a risk!
