  • Accessories Oil tank Santee from Custom Chrome Europe (connections)

Dear people – I play with the idea of replacing the original oil tank of my Softail FXSTD Deuce from 2000 with an accessory oil tank. The concern is purely due to the look. Now it is clear that the OEM oil tank has 3 pipe. One serves the ventilation, one the oil return to the oil tank and one for the supply to the engine or the oil pump. With the original oil tank two pipes are supplied at the top (reduction and ventilation line). The Santee oil tank has four possible connections. And they’re all in the lower range. The question that arises: Is it completely irrelevant where I connect the three lines here or is it possible that some of these connections have a line on the inside, which still goes up. Just as it was the case with the older Evo oil tanks.

Please don’t get it wrong, it may give some of you the impression that I’m advertising a shop here, but I’m doing this really consciously and with a good conscience, because I really felt very good advice there, and maybe others can benefit from it. I wanted to get the right moves for my new handlebar (Ape Hanger), Ralf put together a great package, fast procedure, fast shipping. I think that you can get this for a and others can also benefit from it. If you are not allowed to do something like this here, please close this thread. No topic

  • Starter problems with large engines

Hello colleagues, on time for Faak I finished my bike. Well, I don’t lose any words about the snow on the passes around Faak anymore! For this we were rewarded last year with a week 30 degrees and almost 2000km around Faak. Now my problem (or not). If I drive short distance and need between 5-6 times the starter buttons, I have most of the bad luck that the battery runs out of breath the seventh time. Is this normal, or is the charging system (Lima from Spyke 32A) z u weak. It is a 124″ S&S, IST-Züdung and 1.4KW starter. I would be very grateful for opinions.

  • ….. it’s done, now it’s mine. . . . .

First hello together, after I have read a lot here in the forum, which got one and the other question answered, and also got some advice, and also considered, I would like to introduce you now my new one: She is a 1200 sportster, only 3 ( 04/04 ), and in a great condition. To the previous owner a warm thanks for it, maybe he reads with, otherwise there is still separate post ). Also otherwise the decision is probably right, she gets no season knowledge The note with “Motorrad-Dirct” was already worth his money. Here I get a VK Vers. for almost 1/2 price as with mem LVM HHausversicherer. Now another question, someone has a tip, how I can convince our registration office for a small license plate, because I have only about 15 cm space between license plate holder and luggage carrier. . . . . . Well then, let now come still a few nice days. So, now enough written, and ho I’ll have a few more miles off in the open tomorrow.

  • Buy

Servus together, I’m new here and would like to introduce myself briefly. I’m from Munich and I don’t have a Harley yet. At the moment I’m a BMW driver, but with the thought of getting an HD. I looked around a bit and found that I like the Dyna series the best. I would like the Street Bob or the 2008 Fat Bob. Actually I wanted to buy a used machine, but the things cost with 2 or 3 years also almost the Ne upreis. That has surprised me very much. Of course I don’t want an old bug, especially if it’s true, what you always hear, namely that the older HD ́s are more time in the workshop than on the road. The second thing is that I have to worry about, that there is no ABS for Harleys. It should probably come in the future for all models, but that does not bring me anything at the moment. Of course I am spoiled by BMW from the side. Unfortunately I have not yet been able to test it. I hope it will work in the next few weeks.

  • Switches

Hello together After I have been riding a sportster 883 standard for 4 weeks now I have to realize that the machine is probably too small for me. I am 1.90 tall and weigh about 125 kg. After a couple of small tours with new biker friends who have bikes from 1340 cm I am clearly in the tail. I am thinking of getting a street bob that probably better to past me. I just hope that I don’t make too much loss with the Sporty 4weeks old. mfg jürgen

  • Co-content at over 4.5%

Hello, was just with my 99 Fat Boy at the Tüv and there the CO content was measured at 4.5-4.8%. Have a Mikuni HSR 42 mounted with K&N-Luffi. What do you think I have to turn something on the air control screw??? But it runs absolutely great, in all speed ranges it pulls extremely well and does not pat. Rather too fat than too lean??? Only at the cold start I have to pump 3x so that it comes at the first attempt. Which CO value would be normal at the HSR 42? Thanks for your information!

  • KESS Tech adjustable exhaust

Tomorrow, from Kess-Tech there’s a super-trapp-based exhaust, where at the push of a button on the handlebar can be set from quiet to loud or vice versa. Does anyone have such a part? And if so, can you get photos from the mechanism? I’m interested in the construction because I also have a loud super-trapp…….in case of a control it would be nice to be able to switch to quiet. Thanks NF

  • Am I too big for a Harley?

Dear Harley-Biker! First of all I would like to tell you that I am a regular reader in the forum. The Harley-Forum is probably with the highest level, most friendly and informative at MT. Verbal slippers are rare. Now to me and my problem: After about 20 years of abstinence I would like to ride a motorcycle again and in the short time of my free time with it and “hang off”. I would now like to fulfill the previously unfulfilled dream of my youth (I am now 46) and a Harley ka In the foreground, however, is the brand-independent desire to ride a motorcycle again. The whole however only from summer 2005. So it’s still time. I was at the HD dealer today and I looked at the various moppeds and made seat rehearsals. I am 190 large and weigh 93 kg. On a 1200 sportster I sat on it like a monkey. Where with the legs? The second machine was then a dyna. Then I sat a little better. With the legs it went so half way. But comfortable u It wasn’t relaxed in any way. It was also rather exhausting. Even with the other seat proposed by the dealer it probably didn’t get much better. To my shame I now have to confess that I was then at the BMW dealer and did some seating tests there. That was absolutely good. I immediately felt comfortable on the different models and sat absolutely well and relaxed. My problem is that I don’t really want a BMW but a Harley. What experiences are there with sitting and driving safely with a driver with 190 height? Can the mopped be adjusted to the height with proportionate effort (money and conversion parts)? Thanks for the answers. Pablo1vie

  • Sporty 883 at 1200cc?

hiho folk, I’ve been driving my 883er for quite a while (built in 04/89) and would like to extend it to 12ooccm for the next season … my question, what do I need for the conversion and where do I get the necessary parts (i.e. from which adequate models do they fit) ? I think I need cylinder head pistons from a 12ooer possibly even carburetor and a stronger ignition system? I come more from the car screwdriver segment, although I’m sure my sporty already almost to the last screw individually had in the hand would be nice if I could correct or give assistance if you need more infos then please point out … thx
