  • Oil loss via engine ventilation

Hello everyone, last night it was finally time, after I installed a new oil tank over winter (6 months) among others, connected everything and made the first kick attempts, I had about 0.5 liters of oil loss over the engine ventilation. With my Shovel motor I have the possibility to empty the oil tank to remove thus the collected oil, what I did on advice of a friend and I think the oil loss almost came to an end. My question now, is this oil loss after so long service life normal and was it right to release the oil from the oil pan? Greetings Marco

I have to say, I can’t read this stupid schematic !!! I hope one can help me and explain the thing to me. thanks to lg andy in advance already

  • Change rim ball bearings – how?

Hi guys, so it’s time to change my rear tire. On the advice of various grey eminences here in the forum, I shot a Dyna rim in the bay. With 4.5 x 17 and a 160 pneu, that’s the limit of what can be done on my softail without cutting off the frame booms. Although I’m still tinkering with how to get the thing done with the fender fixture, but I’m sure there’s something else (thread bundle jacks, screws from the inside, etc.) Currently I have jedoc h the question, how do I get the pressed-in bearing out of the rim. As I see it, two bearings are pressed in from each side and in the middle in between is one, h, let’s say axle spacer in between. Problem: I have a 3/4″ axle, the current bearings however have an inner diameter of 25,4mm, so exactly 1″! How tight are the bearings in there? is that an h7 fit or what comparable? I think I can get them out only with a pull-out tool, right? But how The spacer lies flush on the inside of the bearing ring, so that the claws of an ausciher cannot grip. And chase through, the whole axis does not make sense either! Who has done this before? Is there a simple solution (not visible to me at the moment)? … except to go and let it be done !!! Well, I need the suitable spacer anyway, but I just want to get the parts, but do the work myself. Thanks and Greetz Bis then str Eet-jumper

  • Practical tip: On-board socket for charging and for Navi or similar.

Hello, after I always found the battery charging quite cumbersome (decompose the seat bench, connect the charger), I now enjoyed this part and added it yesterday: www.louis.de/…/index.php?… Just connect to the battery and attach the socket somewhere on the mopped (with me on the frame, below the seat bench, freely accessible), is easy, the result convinced. Now I have an external access to the battery, can recharge quickly and on board power a It’s on sale at Aunt Louise’s.

  • what more to do with a 08er Softail???

Hello everyone, once again a question that has certainly been chewed through thousands of times…. Have a 2008 deluxe with manually adjustable KessTech-Tröten. Have the impression that the good piece with closed end pots is better than with open, only the sound is then of course quite good…. So the question, what does a better airflow at the air filter use, other (and if yes, what) software tuning. So quite stupidly asked: How do I get more wumms from the good piece and from when does it become mandatory???

  • First modifications to the RK!?

Hello girls and boys, since I am absolutely jealous of the noise heritage of my colleague, I would like to have the sound improved on my RK 2008. Since I myself have 2 left hands I asked my friendly one and he suggests: Screamin Eagle Air Cleaner Kit SE Pro Super Tuner Kit M Kit, Muffler, FLH ’07 as an alternative he suggested only to replace the rear silencer. Here come my questions: If I have understood everything I have read here correctly, then Is the replacement of the end-shell damper not the solution alone, because for this the engine has to be adjusted!? The Tuner Kit seems to be a “programming device” for the ELektronik. But I have read somewhere that this always works only with a motorcycle. Can anyone explain that to me? Thanks to all the greetings from the sun Frank

  • Refresh brake caliper discharge valve thread

Tach people, need urgent advice. How do I cut the thread most accurately for the unloader screw in the brake caliper, so that the valve closes later too. The old thread is only damaged in the upper third and is unfortunately only screwed up to the first third. It looks as if the guide does not fit 100%. The saddle is chrome-plated and expanded. Thank you for any helpful answer! Gruss, Bangkok
