The heating grips of my BMW were defective. BMW was asked about an elaborate repair. The effort was estimated at 3-4 hours each 89,-€ + material (new heating reefs) + VAT. I prefer cold hands then… At the Yamaha dealer they repaired in 1.5 hours, per hour 52,52 €. I know where I’m going in the future – if it’s not a very special repair.

My start at BMW
Hello together, I am interested in the R1100GS and have no background knowledge at all about the Möp, can you tell me a bit what to consider and,or at all… I am currently driving a XJ900s Diversion, so I am already used to the Kardan Visually I find the GS just great, also the successor models, just find that the GS is out of competition and that would be my start at BMW, if ́s small change fits.Unless it is not advised, what I don’t think, really negative I haven’t heard about it yet So give everything for the best, would be grateful for everything, whether positive or negative, main thing already a few opinions and hints… Nen grateful greeting, Ralle

Oil pressure lamp does not go off
Hello, I have a K 1100 LT year of construction 1997 and since the last oil change the oil warning lamp only goes out at over 4500 rpm. Since there is sufficient oil (according to the glass), I assumed that it is the oil pressure switch. I changed it today, but the problem remains. Now it can actually only lie on the oil pump. Another alternative suspicion is that the new oil filter may not leave the oil enough. As oil I used a partly synthetic 10W 40 oil. H Is that someone who is aware of this for a possible cause? I also searched the Internet for an oil pump that is linked to the water pump. I only found an offer where the price was more than 400€.https://www.bmwbayer.de/en/water pump-complete-bmw-k100-1100lt-model A is very expensive and B I am not sure if the offer contains the oil pump. I found another page where you can get the parts of the oil pump.http://www.realoem.com/b mw/en/showparts?id=0526-EUR-06-1997-89V2-BMW-K_1100_LT_0526,_0536_&diagId=11_2759 Has anyone ever taken apart, repaired the oil pump and did it work? I would be pleased about tips and helpful feedback.

Modification of the main stand for my 2017 R1200GS rally…-:)
Since BMW could not deliver the main stand (part no. 4652852623) for my new R1200GS rally, I had one sent from England! And by means of welded 10mm VA steel at the bottom I have now extended it so that now also the rear wheel has no floor contact. This simplifies the wheel disassembly if necessary and ensures a corresponding tire relief during wintering! And now it does not rust anymore…! – Greetings Nico

R 1100 RT ABS error recovers after reset
R1100 RT, Jg. 1999 ABS error reset successfully. Lights flash twice. When starting up you usually hear the ABS controller front and the lights switch off. In my case it clicks now loudly audible and the ABS error appears again. I suspect the controller is defective. The ABS switch in the cockpit is also lame. The reset of the reciprocal flashing on ABS works out. Unfortunately I do not know the components in detail and do not know exactly which Te The 18-year-old part actually drives summer and winter. I therefore imagine a moderate repair. What do you suggest? Can you change this yourself? Thanks for hints. Brake fluid is fresh, the brake discs in front have been renewed recently. The battery is fine.

Purchase decision
Hi there, I’m new here and I hope someone might be able to help me. I’m 27 years old and I’m doing the motorcycle driver’s license right now. Now, of course, I’m thinking of which one will be the first machine. Now to my problem: An acquaintance would sell me his BMW r1150r Rockster at a good price. After great research, I have a few questions. Is this machine suitable for a beginner? Especially because of the weight and the performance. The machine is from 2004 and has 61,000 km. It would cost me almost 4,000 €. Inspection is new and so far there was nothing to do with it. Since I have no idea in the field yet, I would like to know from experienced people what they think about it. I hope someone can help me. First of all, thank you.

BMW S 1000 XR Dynamic Pro Codi plug
Hello together, have a simple, but also important question: Does the type approval of this motorcycle expire if I insert the coding plug and thus some safety-relevant mechanisms lapse? Where can I get official safety information? Because one says yes and the other says no?! Thank you in advance

BMW F 800 ST/GT for 1.97m? If not, what else?
Hello, I have already seen a lot of threads about motorcycles for big people, but nobody really fits me. The following starting situation, I will be 18 next month and upgrade my A1 to A2. So I can only drive on 48 hp throttled motorcycles. For this reason I think that one with 1000+ ccm is too big, because this is actually way too heavy for only 48 ps. However, then my size comes to bear again. . I once sat on an F 800 GS, that was quite good, but that’s a bit too moderate for me. I would prefer something with full cover, like the ST/GT. But I also take another brand, if the equipment can keep up. The question is only where I fit it. The local BMW dealer unfortunately has no GT/ST in stock so I can’t try it out. But it would be nice if someone could report how big it is with the F 800 ST. Or I am completely wrong and there are 1000s+ which also with 48 ps don’t feel as bad as my 125s Varadero… Thank you and I gladly answer questions, with kind regards, Victor

Brake discs BMW K100 RT without ABS
Hello all, last year, after a very long break from the akitven driving, I bought a BMW K100 RT Bj. 1992, the machine runs great like a clockwork and I am very satisfied. Now it is the case that the front brake discs (floating) have a lot of game, which you can even hear, because if I push the machine out of my garage, it cracks sometimes. What I have learned by now is that a certain game is normal, since I don’t have a s. g. ” I would like to ask if one of you should tell me if the discs should replace better. If yes, where I can get the suitable discs cheaply. Thank you and best regards status1953
