    I got an offer from the BMW motorcycle dealer for a 2-year manufacturer warranty extension for my scooter C400GT (EZ:01.02.2022, km-Stand 9.800 km) at the price of 322€. Am I still thinking about whether this makes sense?

  • BMW R1200GS K25 40000km -> Engine damage

    Hi people – after 7 days and a 3500km tour, my R1200GS, 100km from home (Austria – north of Vienna) had a capital engine damage! Valve plate from the outlet valve is torn off and has “destroyed” the cylinder head and piston………. As standard, the NGK LMAR9D-J will install a spark plug with nickel electrode. However, the NGK LMAR9AI-8 (Iridium) should also be compatible and bring some advantages, e.g. better ignition stability and longer service life. ?? Almost all dimensions are identical BUT: The standard candle has a 16 mm key width, The Iridium Ve rsion only 14 mm. ?? Now to the question: Does anyone have experience with this spark plug? Are there technical reasons why a 14 mm recording could be problematic e.g. regarding the sealing or heat dissipation? Or is it really only the key width that differs? Are I happy about your feedback! ?????

  • R1100Gs Plug assignment

    I bought a BMW R1100GS from relatives for 300€, it stood around for 4 years. After changing the petrol pump and filter it also jumped again. Now to my problem, the BMW was converted into a Scrambler, that is, it has no disguise anymore and a few other things, among others a new Tacho was installed, which only has the necessary control lamps, a km/h indicator and mileage. I would also like to have the oil temperature and engine speed However, the electronics were not properly wired and since I have found nothing online so far I wanted to know if someone might know which contact is responsible for the gray plug (in the middle below).

  • How “tolerant” is BMW Motorrad when it comes to maintenance at free workshops (keyword guarantee)

    The following three BMW drivers have now told me more/minor unisono. I can put it together with my words: Since most BMW`s are moved more/minor than touring motorcycles, the probability is relatively high that – if something happens – this happens “on the way” where there is no BMW contract workshop nearby. Among other things, for this reason BMW would be very tolerant (in terms of warranty claims), which is maintenance/repair in other or free works. If it is, I would appreciate it. But I would be surprised if it were. But BMW is much less “tolerant” when it comes to keeping the time or mileage limits for maintenance. That should be quite precise. What experiences have you had with this topic so far? Similar? Others?

  • No TÜV

    Good morning, we have two years ago a R850 with approx.55 tkm at the dealer. Since the purchase only 400 km were driven. (There were reasons why so little has been driven. Yesterday we wanted to let the machine new TÜV en. Unfortunately we did not get a TÜV. It was criticized: from the front wheel swings exits oil. The rear wheel has too much game. What could be defective on the rear wheel. Can one recreate something.?My question now, what do we have to expect if we have this repaired What are the chances of getting Kulanz to repair the rear wheel at the dealer.   • K26 Foil encoder defective?

    Hello to the round, yesterday during the ride at about half tank filling, suddenly the yellow warning lamp went on and the tank symbol flashed. The range went rapidly towards zero. Now my question is, what can be done???? I had zipped the foil emitter last year by means of lighter. Did also super work. At that time the tank display remained at full stop. So again zipping or calibrating? Calibration is almost the same as renewing by effort. I had asked a BMW contract workshop last year for renewal.   • G650 GS 2010 (injection double ignition) does not want to start to die..

    Dear everyone, I get the G650 GS, 2010, 27000 km, not kissed awake. Starter turns a wolf but the lady doesn’t say Muff and not Maff. She smelled kind of like fuel after the organ orgy; so we took out the candles and put them, besides the cylinder first dry. Spark is there. Are 2 iridium candles installed. They were wet.. Then everything went back together and with a large battery further to to get out the small battery from cause. Then she came to the This worked so 3x, after which it is now permanently dead again. So far checked: – petrol pump works. – spark (external) comes. – starter spins fast and powerful – start attempts with and without air filter What still stands: Have dismantled the idle control and eyed. When driving out in the extended condition the stamp flew away directly. In my view, in order to save a short time to die again immediately afterwards. In cooperation with the temperature sensor, he should also be responsible for the start mixture. So the new order – no warehousing – comes at some point.. Two new candles are also on the way. The “trick” with ignition on, 3x full gas, ignition seems to have no effect on the model. What else could I check? Which diagnostic devices do you use?

  • Detach battery

    Have a question in the round. Do I really have to disassemble half the motorcycle for the battery on my R nineT Pure? So also solve the tank? At least this is shown on YouTube. VG Mario
