Servus from Bavaria! Just as a preliminary information, I only had the driver’s license and the BMW since 22.12.09, i.e. bloody beginner. I hope also here the motto applies: There are no stupid questions only stupid answers. My baby I drove for the first time in March and then immediately noticed this loud clinker when I took the gas out. At first I thought I drove them from time to time undertoured( 2000 in the village e.g.) but this noise then also occurred at higher speeds (3000-4000) Every time I took out the gas. Somehow I came up with the idea it could be on the chain. So I had it tightened up. (She was actually too loose) The sound was almost gone. But it still appears in the lower speed range, but not so loud anymore. Do I just have to accept it because it’s deeper and the chain, when the load is gone, is somewhere in contact with a disguise unknown to me? Does anyone have a good tip for me? Unfortunately, as a woman you are not really taken seriously at the motorcycle dealer. Or did I end up with the wrong one? I can’t imagine that the chain relaxes after 5 times on a game of 5-6 cm. Thank you already marina-lupus

Motorcycle Newbie and BMW fan asks for your tips
I was riding a motorcycle last time in 1982 – without a driver’s license – but it was a lot of fun anyway. On the way we (a friend and I) were at that time with the Honda MTX (lightweight wheel). The fun came to an end when a forester with a Yamaha 500 Enduro chased us through the forest, which we had illegally crossed. 2010 – since now 28 years law-abiding citizens – I think about dealing with the topic motorcycle again – this time legal.I still have no (motorcycle) foot That’s why I asked my questions here. I’m sure everyone has been asked – I’m still looking forward to your understanding. How much time and money do I have to invest for a driver’s license? 15 hours and 1200 EUR? What should I do for motorcycle clothing + helmet? Is it possible to drive somewhere away from paved roads at all? Is there still such a PS limit (Have since 25 J. Auto-FS) at the beginning? Which motorcycle should I take? Out of pleasant memories I find this Honda MTX a very good enduro – and came across the BMW 650 GS. To my astonishment the part “Only” costs 7999 EUR new. If there were Japanese alternatives – where you say: Almost as good – costs only 5000? Is the value loss on motorcycles really so low? I wanted to see what I get for 4000 EUR – the parts were sometimes 10 years old – then I can also take a new machine. How much discount are realistic? And now still the stupidest fr of all: Is motorcycling really so dangerous? Sure – no knautschzone etc. But I didn’t drive in anyone in 25 years and no one has driven in to me. What do you mean?

Which motorcycle should I buy?
I’m usually only active in the Autoforum (BMW 3 Series E90, 335i, see picture). I’m 52 years old and I haven’t driven a motorcycle for about 25 years. It’s been 30 years since I passed the test for the heavy motorcycles in Switzerland. Now I’d like to buy a motorcycle from BMW. Preferably a used model. I’m about 168 cm tall or small. And with about 60 kg relatively light, but still strong enough to ride a motorcycle (triathlon, thank you). e that I don’t fit on some models of BMW because I don’t reach the ground. This probably concerns the enduros of BMW. I particularly like the model K 1200 R (S less because I don’t like the connection). I also wonder if it really has to be a 1200er. I also like the model F 800 R very much. However, the performance here is much more modest than with the K 1200. What would you do in my place? I would like to thank you already in advance for j egliche Feedbacks, Wish Happy Easter and Remain with Dear Greetings Thomas

so-called “NETTIQUETTE”
The verbal derailments of a certain BMW forum member have to be reprimanded in public here. Almost every post is commented by him in faecal and gossip language. I think that is neither fair nor appropriate. Here are a few “cost samples”: – Rectally segregating corints ….. – Even car master and not even repairing a scooter? – who needs such a tail extension should have its fun – as little usable as the artificial a ufgepumpten boobs of any other dick templates……. – (List could be extended as desired) Sorry, but this is not supposed to be the common tone here. Maybe it is not even noticeable to the affected person himself ?? Greeting Achim

Kaufhilfe, BMW R 1200 GS
Hello dear Q-friends, after 3 beautiful years on my little Ninja, I want to change and have an all-rounder in mind. One can not get past the GS, for me the strongest competitor is the KTM 990 SM-T, because it combines the sportiness of the super sportsman with the comfort of the GS. But reason wins and now I have decided for a GS! Would like to have a 1200er, since with the 1100 or 1150s optically not like and the “new” probably also a little agile r seems to be. I want to spend around 8,500€ a maximum of 10,000€. With on board should be ABS, handle heating and if possible side suitcases. So now the question arises: What about the first models from 2004? Can you buy them or should you take songs which from 2005 on? Many of the offers have a high mileage, is it worth a certain extra price for a machine with a mileage below 30,000km? Are there any bugs on which you should pay particular attention? a few good tips I would be happy… PS: Oh yes, a ZX9r Ninja I would have to leave if someone was interested

News about Windschild R 1200 GS
Dear GS 1200 drivers, inspired by the comparison test wind signs in the magazine “The motorcyclist” I ordered a MRA Varioscreen. Mounted last Saturday and tried out Sunday for two hours. My conclusion: The part is brilliant. Absolute wind protection and no turbulence, i.e. no noise in the helmet and that from 0 to 180 km/h (more I could not test as I did not use the highway). The back current actually works. O.K. Optically, the part is not the open air The key data: I (186 cm) serial seat bench on low position. Textile clothes Schubert S 1 helmet Varioscreen lower part on medium position, upper part pushed up. At E-Bay there is also a favorable source of supply for approx. 135,- Euro without shipping costs. So my serial disc has now finally been used up. I don’t know if I can mount my miraculous flowjet again in the summer. Maybe I will try only the basic part. l the Varioscreen alone. May the white splendor soon be forgiven…

Control chain and sprockets necessary to K1100 exchange?
Hello, my K 1100 has run about 180ts. With age it runs ever rougher, vibrates stronger. Now after the long winter break I noticed this especially. It was done now: valve play tested, all E= 0.15 – 0.17 mm, all A= 0.25 – 0.28 mm. throttle flap poti adjusted, motor run synchronized, all oils changed and oil filter, engine oil 20W50. The ignition 0.24 mm v.o.T. error memory read out = no error. New candles. Compression is at 13,5 – 13, 7 bar at the 4 Cylinders (warm) so quite well still and evenly. The sliding rail chain tensioners were changed times at about 90ts, would not have been necessary at all, since there were almost no grinding or abrasion marks available. If one could have left in it. The question that bothered me, must possibly be changed the steering chain along with chain wheels for valve drive and crankshaft? Have heard different opinions from “but certainly, until stupidly, because chain is pre-stretched”. can someone tell me something concrete about it. If exchange is necessary approx. cost for e-parts, if someone knows. In advance my heartfelt thanks for a proper answer and dear greeting, Michele
