    Hello dear people, I’ve registered here for a short time because at Motor Talk you can actually find ALL Jetz I wanted to get some advice or offers. I’ve been looking for an E28 for a while, now it should be this weekend that I could have picked up the treasure and once this afternoon comes the SMS from the seller. The car was sold, sorry. And I just thought “f*ck you”….now on the actual subject,I’ve got everything I’ve been digging away here could find and I did not find anything that really addressed me. Do you still have friends, relatives, colleagues or do you know a dealer in your city or your village or whatever a good one stands around? Previously 525e 525i 528i….all of which I find not so intoxicating and everything that goes in direction 535 M535 and M5 is anyway pricey far away. Would I really be happy if something comes. Mfg

    servus, I’m just thinking of buying a 5s 28e bmw and I wanted to ask what I have to pay attention to. the main reason I want to have one is that the car counts as an oldtimer and therefore I hardly have to pay insurance. also I find that the car is an absolute classic my budget is somewhat limited (so 3000) but they are in the net anyway relatively cheap to find how expensive are they in maintenance? so petrol, spare parts, etc… thank you in advance

  • E12 M535i Oldie fuel/pressure problem

    Have a meal with each other, I need a little help from ‘old hares’ here! Have a real rarity from my stepfather, an 1980s M535i E12. The car has stood up to last week a good 15 years. Now I have brought the good piece back to life and when it runs it is a dream to drive with it. The following problem…the fuel pressure and the circulation falls together as soon as the car has stood 3-4 hours. which is the backflow line on it. Has the now certain time stood, even with the running engine no fuel can pass there. Follow engine runs bad until it even does not run anymore because of lack of fuel. I renewed all fuel hoses, pump runs. The last days I proceeded as follows to have the engine run reasonably. 1.Relais the pump bridged so that it runs through. 2. Return hose and piece hose to the pressure regulator and neatly with the mouth ansa until the fuel has arrived after 20-30sec, quickly return hose on it again. Then it purrs like a chick and everything is good. You can also put it off for 30min to shop and similar things…But if it takes 3 hours then the whole procedure from the front. What’s the matter? The pressure regulator? Can you check it? Somehow something still clogs or leaks? Nanometers for the pressure test on the inlet side unfortunately I have no… But as I said, the circuit is once hung If you leave without doing that in the morning, you will be left behind after 500-600m for lack of fuel and there is nothing left. Who still has ideas to do with it? Thank you!!!

    Hello guys. I have a question to the e28 professionals among us. I would like to know if the rear axle camps have a pressing direction. I have not yet finished it at the press and by heating them up. And before I break anything or use raw violence I would like to make sure that the camps can be built out in both directions.     For my DIXI I have a certificate on the replacement of the vehicle tax from 1933. This applies according to Reichsgesetzblatt I p. 315 for the future duration of its use. Does this law still apply today? Has anyone ever received the exemption from customs? Is there a specialist lawyer who has already enforced this exemption?

  • BMW E28 speedometer problems

    Hello, 5 Series BMW E28 Tacho problem: – Speed indicator defective – Speed indicator defective – Average consumption indicator defective – Service lamps light up (with the reset tool they can be deleted and after that only the inspection lamp lights up, but everything else works permanently. The problem suddenly occurred. I read that sometimes the battery on the motherboard runs out and it can come to problems. Questions: 1) Someone has had this already with the E28 with the Batteri e on the mainboard. Can that be the reason? 2) If I buy another / used tacho, does this work “plug and play” with such an old car? Or is it the process? 3) Could someone find out for me whether the tacho was installed in this car ex factory? Before 10j it was for repair, I could take the documents. Then send chassis number and tacho number via PN. Would be great if someone has useful tips or can help. Please don’t go to BMW, or Keep your hands off of it” ;p. Thx

  • Busted workshop mess at the BMW 1500-2002 – Oldtimer E10 Built 1970

    Hello, on my BMW 1602/E10, year 1970 the bearing game of the right front wheel was checked recently. After removing the fat cap a white crown nut was found on the thread of the spring leg. My question: Where do you learn such a thing? What can be the cause? The condition could have been so present for 20 and more years. So long I drive the car. Do “Mecatronics” today no longer have a conscience? At BMW there was no spring bone replacement anymore, only a revised old part was still available. W Arum is not allowed to enter the workshop at Oldi-Reparaturen to the customer… VS-Recht ? Or is such “acidness” concealed and covered up?
