Hello, I am a new owner of a Mercedes C-Class T-Model, gave it to me for Christmas and for my birthday.Since today I am also a member of the Motor Talk family. Now a question: Is the lettering on the tailgate (C 220 d) glued on and if so, how can you remove the residueless? Thanks in advance for your answer. Greetings Fingerling3

What underbody protection?
Hello, I want to give the golf a shelter. Now you hear about different possibilities. Some say that it is more effective to do this with cavity sealing. Some even recommend rope grease. What experiences do you have?

Rost processing in winter
Hello, I found various rust spots on my 18 year old Octavia at the front above the windshield, safely caused by rockfall. Normally I would clean the areas, rust converters on it + wait + wash off, Brantho Korrux 3in1 on it + dry, paint, finish. Maybe after the rust converter and before Brantho still something with zinc. The result will not be nice, but I think/hope durable and that’s what matters to me. Now to the problem: Mi r is only available an unheated barn which is not very dry at this time of year. What do I do now? Wait until spring and hope that I do not have a hole in the roof until then? Or carry out work with the conditions above and hope that the varnishes/colours also work at the temps. What do you mean? In the appendix a few pictures.

Painting on the front bumper chipped – cost?
On the photo, the damage is far more obvious than normally seen in real. This is due to the flash of the camera. The damage is large in size. The paint is dark blue. The paint is, so to speak, chipped and it must certainly be chipped and sanded. Can anyone estimate how high the cost should be? The car has about 90 000 kilometers and seven and a half years down. Is it still estimated worth 3000 € and I want the car (probably) v I wonder, then, if this is still going to pay off?

Coating of CSFs
Hello dear people, a friend of ours has next weekend’s birthday and what does it have to be? Sure, a rear spoiler for the wall. Said, done, we were able to find an old Supra Spoiler in the Netherlands yesterday. Now the paint from the part is relatively over and we would like to repaint it. What do I have to consider? What do I have to grind with? Must I prime? Rich desired color + clear varnish? What kind of paint do you use? or is it worth the way to the car dealership? Look forward to your answers! Greeting Felix

Color difference after painting – Painter liable?
Hello, I had my Audi in the factory town for a great service and the painting of the shock rod. The shock rod was painted ok, but afterwards there was a bump in the fender at the transition to the shock rod. This must have happened during the removal or installation. The workshop proposed to have the bump in the fender removed at its expense at the beulendocktor. It painted the all-round fender and the shade is now significantly darker than the shock bar on the left and the door on the right. Workshop says that the paintmaker has taken the color of the fender on the other side. I don’t understand that once and on the other side there is no color difference anywhere. Does anyone have experience? I think if I sell the car will everyone assume that it is an accident car. Can I demand that the fender be repainted? Did there legally arise a lack of the car? beautiful greeting, Marcus

Golf 2 Repainting. Dust in paint, best solution?
Hi guys, I drive a 26 year old golf 2. Since it is still top from the base, I wanted to keep it, because it is also a special model. Now I decided to repaint it. I don’t do it for the first time, unfortunately I didn’t succeed well. I painted the doors yesterday and saw that I have a lot of dust in the paint or clear varnish, despite the fact that I flooded the floor with water. In addition, I noticed quite early, that the clear varnish really fucked up. The gulf was originally silver. I rubbed the old paint with 800 wet sanding paper and cleaned it with degreaser. I mixed the clear varnish 2:1. The outside temperature was about 20°, so I can rule out that it is dressed too quickly. The question now is how to get the dirt out best. I have already read through, but found many possibilities. 2000 wet sanding paper and then How would you do it?

Coating with a large area of foliage
Hello friends, from the front: I know 0% with varnishes, paint etc.. Today in the parking lot much me a funny color on the rear bumper, behind the rear right wheel box, below. I then went over it with a damp cloth, to see if there is a scratch or something, and then a large piece of paint just peeled off. Then I drove into an SB box (not thoroughly, but just so that I can look at the place more closely) and at the Waschen then fell off a just as big piece, which was already easy after the waste of the first piece. I put pictures on what it looks like now. My questions: a) How can something like this happen? Damage fixed and grottig lacquered? b) Can I repair something like this reasonably okay? Of course, the white one looks really bad. The place looks almost only when you kneel on the floor and look under the car. Standing there is only easy to see the white one. So it doesn’t have to be perfect. However, I now have two different heights (even where the varnish has been peeled off it is deeper than the rest). Do I get something like this with a base varnish + clear varnish spray set from Ludwiglacke to and then grind and polish to adapt or does it require more work? Mercedes C-Class Year 2000… Metallic varnish!

Repainting by Parkrempler good or bad done?
Hello guys, I caused a dent when parking on the side due to carelessness. It was important to me that you see almost nothing at the end. An acquaintance agreed to repair the damage for 500€ (did not let it run through the insurance company). A first repair was already done because the first result was catastrophic. Now the paintr thought it would not work, because silver is very difficult to paint and another repair was not possible. I wanted to hear your opinion about it, especially those who know well whether it is true. See pictures. I find the craziest edge, which, so to speak, no longer exists. What do you think?

I was looking for a repair tip!
Hi! So far I have never dealt with spatula and hardly paint work on vehicles. Therefore I would need some advice, how I can get a damage (see photos) in a Citroen C3 as easily as possible again. For the damage in the threshold area I thought I could remove (after processing the upper edge with a rubber hammer) all loose parts, fill the hole with body seal (Petec K&D), then spat, grind and with an I would leave the door like this or maybe try to squeeze out the bump from the inside. I also leave the fender so or spachtele and paint it first. First of all, it is about the threshold area. Unfortunately, a welding machine is not available, if someone should recommend me to perform welding work. I would be very pleased if you would help me and give me detailed tips on procedure and matter, etc.! Thank you In advance!
