  • New clutch linings installed -> nothing works anymore Ducati 1098

Hello, I hope here someone can give me a tip, what I did wrong or did not do. I have been driving a Ducati 1098 from the year 2007. The bike is really in shot, only the clutch was cracked strongly and squirted at almost every traffic light when driving. I had ordered new clutch coverings for this reason. Model was right, number, diameter and so on also right, so pressure rod pulled out, old coverings and discs removed and new discs and Composed according to manufacturer specifications. Pressure rod pushed on again and the 6 ultra-solid springs (in the Youtube video the person said that the springs are not very stable, which are built in with me abnormally stiff and even double springed.) screwed with the screws, while keeping in mind the screws nicely loose, so do not put on with much force. Clutch lid again on it and now came the big surprise. I pulled the clutch and nothing happened. I turned out the screws of the pressure plate again and tried to see if anything happens when the clutch is operated. Without screws and springs, the pressure plate moves (can you call it that way?) a little bit when the clutch is operated. However, if I press the pressure plate on the clutch basket with my hand, the pressure plate moves a little bit when the pressure plate is pressed. The pressure of my hand is enough to prevent domes showing an effect. One can imagine what the pressure rod and pressure plate can do against the pressure of the 6 bombastic springs. So, now I stand there, that the good Duc can no longer be driven, because maybe I did something wrong. Hopefully someone can give me a hint here, how I can get the good part back to running or to cupola. On the Kupplun This doesn’t seem to be the original clutch anymore. Do I have to vent the clutch hydraulics in order to get pressure on the pressure rod again? EDIT: I just found a problem. The 6 screws with which the pressure basket is mounted are already sucked out in the thread of the engine half. On some threads I can push the screw properly without power. That’s certainly not right. Can I do something? Maybe use longer screws? Or is it not recommended?

  • Buy ST 4s ABS or ST3s ABS

Hi all, as shown in the title, I would like to buy a youthful st (<10000km). after it becomes my first duc I am grateful for directions and experiences. I am particularly interested in: stability of the motors, maintenance intervals, acceptance of gas when accelerating in curves/constant rucksacks weak points that should be taken care of when buying. I am a beautiful weather driver with approx. 2-3000km/year and am currently coming from the yamaha fjr1300a. thanks in advance to

  • 998S Final Edition

Hi guys, since summer is coming, I want to get a new bike. As always it should be a DUC. A few years ago I owned a BEN BOSTROM. I would love to get it back. Unfortunately, these machines have become very rare. Therefore, I decided for a FINAL EDITION. Unfortunately, there are no more like sand at the sea. At Mobile there are several models. She should not have run all too many km if possible. e DUC from Mobile. Please take a look at them. I don’t know pictures say much. Just to look at it is too far for me. I’m especially interested in the KRUMMER INSTRUMENT, the dealer thinks she didn’t see a race track !!!!!!!!! For this the KRUMMER INSTRUMENT looks, but pretty hot driven for the km it should have run. http://suchen.mobile.de/…/showDetails.html??… BUY ??? or LOVER FINGER WEG ??????? Thank you happy biken

  • Help needed when buying a new battery for my M695!!

Hello everyone! I’m new here and I’ve registered after I’ve come across this page several times while searching the net. I need your help buying a new battery for my M695. I’ve been looking for days and I’m not going to be smarter! :/ First of all to the vehicle: I drive a Ducati Monster 695 M4 built in 2006. This is my first motorcycle and I don’t have much experience in repair, spare parts, ecc. Anyway, my Batt After more than 6 years I gave up my mind and did not survive the winter. Now I am looking for a new one and am completely overwhelmed, or I don’t dare to buy a battery without hearing the opinion of others before I read in intensively on the topic “acid or gel?” and finally came across two replacement batteries, here the links to it: 1. http://www.amazon.de/…/B002EHI946?… 2.http://www.polo-motorrad.de/en/…e-gel-12b-4-10-0-ah-yellow atterie.html 3. http://battery24.de/…thium-ion-motor-battery-HJT9B-FP-12V?… I actually wanted to get a gel battery (here: Link 3), because if I understood it correctly, the weight is considerably lower and it also “lives” several charging cycles. The price difference is not really significant here either. However, the talk is often about maintenance-free gel battery, in which then after all an acid has to be filled. I am incredibly planless and in the questions the other user I could not really find the answer for which I am looking for :/ Could you tell me what you think of the two links, especially the second one? can I buy the battery comforted or is there something else to consider or did I get something wrong? do you know otherwise a better battery? I upload a photo of my old battery for safety. Many thanks to all already!!!

  • Ducati Mark Quiz

Greetings are all friends of the one-lane ride on a combustion engine, I am new in the forum and after 30 years of the moped abstinence happy owner of a Ducati M 1.000. The official mark of my bella macchina can be read under her portrait at the top left and it is a wish mark. Now to the sensational Ducati Quiz: 1) Who as first/r guesses what the letter “D” on the sign means, I buy an ice cream or a drink of her/his Choice in the winner’s favourite location in 50 km radius of Bonn. 2) If you are the first to guess what the ominous “992” means, the same as in 1). 3) If you guess as first/r 1) AND 2) before either of them was guessed by someone else, I buy a meal under the conditions mentioned in 1). I am looking forward to every answer, especially as many false and absurd as possible ;-). Furthermore, I am looking forward to encounters with strange, interesting and nd soon no longer unknown like-minded people somewhere on the Ar..h of Germany, in the Eifel, in the Siebengebirge, in the Westerwald, in the Bergische Land or wherever. All moped riders, who command over at least 125 ccm, are allowed to participate, even scooters and Japanese vehicles (I am trying for tolerance… :-). The infection with the biker virus alone counts and that is by the way really a friendly virus and not as nasty as this one:

  • What does an open clutch cover bring?

Hello. I bought a ducati Monster 1100 2 weeks ago and wanted to convert it now over the winter. On the internet I have seen dozens of different open clutch covers. But why? will the standard clutch be too hot during a slightly more aggressive ride? Besides, I have read that an open clutch lid the clacking so this ducati typical noise some have amplified. I hope here someone knows the purely optically I like the open en lid very good and I was happy to get one but just not who the engine could take harm

  • Ducati Ur-Monster Conversion in NRW

Hello dear motorcycle community, I’ve had my Monster 900 for over 24 years now, but have hardly driven in the last years. 3 years ago I had a lot of overtaking and thought that my Ducati workshop also looked at the front and rear suspension. But it wasn’t done, I was only told “it drives reasonably, we already had worse here”. It seems to me that the fork only springs when I was already able to over a floor shaft. the battery is always empty and even if it is new and fully charged, then you still have the feeling that the battery is too weak. Coupling could be made new. Otherwise actually in good condition, was always in the garage. Irgednwie would like to drive again, have already looked at some new machines at Ducati & Co but quite honestly, I find my M900 just awesome even after 24 years and timeless beautiful but it could drive better. There the idea has matured in me, rather to invest a few thousand euros in my long companion rather than to buy something new, soulless. However, I really don’t know who to turn to within NRW ́s with this project and a complete idea what to replace and what to rebuild I don’t have yet. Does someone know one or more Ducati dealers or customizers in NRW to which one can turn trustfully with I’m going to attach a current picture to you so that you can make a “picture” of the current state.

  • Is that worth it? I’m interested in your opinion.

Good evening dear community, I am currently in possession of the driving licence class A1, the increase A2 should follow soon. At the moment I drive a Yamaha Wr 125 (Supermoto). Actually the A1 driver license was only intended for the transition to come from A to B, until the age of 18. In the 1 1/2 years of motorcycling I found more and more fun and am now already at the increase A2. The question is now only which motorcycle, what fits to me? Since I ask you now I am 182cm tall my body is “normal”, not too thin but also not thick (72-75kg). I love to drive on the country roads with many curves, but also routes where it is sometimes just going to be fun just not with 15 HP. When I sit on my machine I only get off after 200-300 kilometers (on tours). Running power of the machine in 1 1/2 years approx. 15,000 kilometers. Actually I am interested in switching from Supermoto to S but I’m not 100% sure yet. Since I’m employed at VW (still in training) and the subsidiary is indeed Ducati, I’m trying to switch from Yamaha to Ducati, because it’s also very expensive for me. With the Ducati models, I’m clearly inclined to the 899 Panigale or the Hypermotard SP (new vehicle). Now comes the next problem. I have to have 48 HP until my 20th year of life. The throttle is certainly possible but then it makes it possible That doesn’t hurt the engine, does it? Greetings Nico

  • Ducati Monster 900 S i.e. Construction ; Please help me!

Hello, I am proud Ducati owner since yesterday. Unfortunately, she is not yet ready to drive, as I could not have afforded a Duc. :-/ I only screwed to Kawas so far and had to find out that both brands are completely different. Hope someone can help me. 1. Coupling: At the moment no resistance to feel: Up to now only had couplings with metal pulleys – without liquid. How do I get the necessary pressure or liquid into the line. 2. Gasoline lines: Where are the petrol lines with you? One left and one right of the engine or both left? 3. Mirror: I have received new mirrors. Now I lack the connection between the two threads, which also have different sizes. Are there connecting screws with different thread sizes, or do I need an adapter oä? 4. Seat mounting: Unfortunately, the predecessor has abgabaut the complete mounting system and mome ntan is not recognizable how this should be attached. Could someone take a picture of his? 5. Ignition coil: Where is this attached? Would I be happy about your help, as otherwise the project will probably fail. Photos would probably be easiest. Telephone might be best. With kind regards, a poor student – theshadow999

  • Heck “breaks away”…

Dear community Although it’s been a while since last season, an experience/phenomenon doesn’t get out of my mind anymore, and I’m very excited about what you’re saying about it. It’s about a relatively old (i.e. 10 years old) and throttled monster 600. When I’m driving on normal, dry asphalt (no oil or something on the track) when I turn down the rear to the left “broken off” such a kind of “slide away” and I had no idea why, let alone what went off. I still liked it, but it happened repeatedly, but irregularly and by far not every time when I switched down. I then “wanted”, but could never control it (or rather consciously) bring it about… Well, my question to you; would you have any idea what that might be? Tires etc are usually, therefore also my guessiness. Has anyone had similar experiences or even experienced this before? I am grateful for every feedback. Thank you and may the F Rühling coming soon!
