Hello, we have a small RV with which the radio is connected to Dauerplus. As a result the radio can also be used on the place. However, the battery seems to discharge relatively quickly. After 3 to 4 weeks the battery voltage has already dropped to a low level. I think that the current will not be all too large. Therefore, I could imagine that a small solar panel is optimal for maintaining the charge. There is also the possibility, since Perhaps someone has already gained experience and can recommend something to me.

Oil outlet between engine and transmission
Hello! I’m afraid that with a vehicle I take care of, oil is leaking out in the area between the engine and the transmission. So it could be a shaft sealing ring/simmering defective. Either the crankshaft immering on the gearbox side or the simmering of the transmission input shaft. Which one it is, you probably recognize by the smell of the oil, right? How dangerous is it to continue driving with the vehicle? Is this rather a creeping process or is there a moment when the clutch unexpectedly slips through and nothing goes on? From my point of view, this could be a “death shock” for the vehicle (high mileage, age). Because for a repair, the gearbox would have to go out and that would probably exceed the value of the vehicle. Do you think you should try it with an oil loss stop additive in the oil? I didn’t have such a case yet and therefore can the Situati and would therefore be grateful for your help and detailed information!

With extreme cold 91 octan better than 98?
I drive an old suction gasoline and drive this year into the mountains in Switzerland. It sometimes starts badly at cold temperatures. Battery and spark plugs are ok. Therefore my question: Better Super or Super+ refueling? Or no matter!? The lower the octane count the easier the flammability or? So 95 octan or even 91 octan (I think it still exists in Switzerland) would be probably better?

Battery defective?
Hello forum. After my car battery ran empty for the second time in my Nissan Almera Tino (2004) I looked at the power consumption at rest. This is about 60mA. This is supposed to be still normal for my research. The alternator delivers a voltage of a little over 14V. I then recharged the battery again (about 13V) and once measured the voltage when starting. This drops to about 11.6V at the start of the system. How can this be evaluated? The battery (Bosch 44Ah) is only about 1 year old. Can it be that it is already defective? MfG has left the charged battery for several days and found that it is not connected, 0.02V per day.

Brake plates despite ABS
With my car (Peugeot 308 GTi, year 2020) both front tyres have a brake plate. How can such a thing happen with a new car with ABS? The tires Michelin Pilot Super Sport did not run 300 km. A particularly hard braking is not in my memory. The rear wheels are without damage. Where can such a thing come from – could it indicate problems with the ABS? Can something have gone wrong during the assembly of the wheels through the repair shop? I am a bit perplexed.

Wiring harness has passed through – error search
good day! We are just measuring a motor wire harness. Both sides are plugged off, ohmmeter attached, and see there: The cable colors, which are the same, do not go through in some cases, for which one can measure a passage between different cable colors. Now we have searched for the error…on picant places (so where the tree was exposed to heat), we have opened it once, but inside all the cables are intact…sttecker don’t look like they were a good day! we are now a bit at a loss where you could still start, and thought we were asking here for ideas. thank you already!

More consumption by mud traps on the fenders?
Good morning, how much more consumption will dirt catchers cause on the fenders on the highway? On the Internet you can find all possible opinions but hardly concrete statements. Can one compare the influence of dirt catchers with the increased consumption of roof rack bars? Greetings and thanks already Stefan

Reliability within the VAG
Hello together, a short question, where I am not sure if there can be a short answer ,I hope nevertheless there is one: Why do in the ADAC breakdown statistics actually cut identical or similar cars within the VAG so differently ? Within each vehicle class e.g. Audi is ahead of VW/Skoda/Seat, sometimes even clear . At the same time I thought that most parts are identical. So where do these differences come from ? More care of the holders, possibly other parts, other e Quality assurance? Can one possibly conclude from this also a longer durability? I would like to find an approach very interesting, I find no differences about Google – so except the quality in the interior, which is probably hardly decisive. This should not be worth per or contra of a manufacturer, by the way, I just stumbled over this (neutral) statistics. Thank you already 😉

Axle / track measured costs at the Quattro
Hello, when changing on summer tires the dealer noticed that the rear left tire had driven very hard inside. Now I want to, or must I have my axle measured. The question now arises where and what it costs? Does anyone have experience? Bzw. how does the friendly one do it? Haven’t seen a “measuring station” there yet… Do they work with lessons or something? 1. Reiff car tire dealer with the latest 3D laser measuring system wants 140EUR, since all-wheeled vehicle…

Find a “driving style sensor”
Hello, for a long time I have installed a Dashcam in my two cars at the front and at the back. Several times the photos were very helpful (e.g. in case of uninflicted accidents or in case of coercion and insults by other road users). Now I am also looking for a driving style sensor, similar to the sensors that are installed in the telematics tariffs. The sensor should register when abrupt braking and driving movers are carried out. ? I know that there are such devices to buy, but I did not find them myself.
