Hi, I have a hall, there would be room for 1-2 other cars and I would like to screw together with others privately. However, I guess that I am then the stupid and carry the complete risk. Although I am quite often there, but not every day. The rental contract runs on me, I probably also have the most tools. How can you secure yourself? No one can then prevent you from clearing out the hall when you are in it or if you live in it … How do you do it? s?

What can I connect to my car battery(s)
Hello dear forumer, I have a question, and I bought myself a VW T4 transporter with a few colleagues. We have and want to install some electronic devices. The following basis: – The car has 2 batteries, one in the front of the engine compartment and one under the driver’s seat – Up to now radio, light, fittings and the whole standard equipment are connected to the engine compartment battery. – Up to now a 4 channel power amplifier, seat heating? and two 12V sockets are connected to the second battery. We would like to connect a 20″ TFT, an iphone docking station, and a console (probably PS3). Is that even possible, with voltage converter, if yes, an expensive one? How long do the devices last during the ride and in the state of the art etc. The three technology devices split on both batteries? or only on the second battery?

Brake disc fixation
Yesterday I could only unscrew my summer tires. The screws on both sides grind to the holes of the brake disc.As if the brake disc had been twisted to a minimum. So the holes are not centered to the axis. What can I do there? The discs are from ATE. Mass should therefore fit.Can I simply remove the fixing screws? Then I can turn the discs a little bit.

Damage to clutch at “Motorbrake” without idle in between?
Hello. Can I damage the clutch if, for example, I roll down the mountain in the 3rd course and only with the clutch “brake”, but in the meantime I don’t uncouple (so don’t roll in between in idle mode)? So, as I said in my example, always leave the gear in it and only with the clutch “brake”! Thank you!

Damage after flood?!
Moin Together! I’d like to ask you what damage can be caused to vehicles that were or were driven in the flood. I have three photos that may represent a few scenarios. Scenario 1: The car stands up to the door handles in the water and is not moved. As far as it can be recognized, there is no water in the passenger cell. Is that possible at all? What can happen in the engine compartment? Would the vehicle still be repairable? Scenario 2: The car stands up to the wheel hub Can towing in the water cause damage that would otherwise not be expected. How do brakes, axles and exhaust systems react to the standing time in the water? Scenario 3: The car travels through an area with increased water level, large puddle. Can the motor be damaged by driving? Keyword engine ventilation! Can water get into the exhaust system or is the exhaust pressure too high? If so, what happens then? Are there big differences w ie the technology / parts react, whether it is sweet, salt or brackish water? The questions ask themselves to me, after in another thread in the traffic & safety forum a user wanted to drive his car dry. In addition, I had a situation similar to in scenario 3 after the flood with us, and now the question arises to me, whether my car got thereby damage or can still get? Also interested me, how insurances regulate the damage? TK vs VK? To what extent am I as a Holder/insurer in the duty to remove my car from the area. In other words, if I have to secure my house, I have to put my car in safety? What if I don’t have time for it? Does the insurance also regulate damage from trips due to floods or very large, deep puddles? I know, the insurance questions actually belong in the insurance forum, but maybe you can take a look at them for a moment? egte and objective discussion. Greetings, the_Nordman

Heating for older cars
Hello! I’m looking for some advice on the topic of heaters. I’m thinking about retrofitting a heater in my somewhat older Astra (about 7 years, I hope for another min. 5 years). How are the experiences regarding the durability of modern heaters? !!!Background and main consideration: Would it be an option to “move” the heater into a new car after a few years? !!! What should you look for when choosing? Manufacturer-specific strengths/weaknesses? Thanks already And greetings, BB

Battery flattened after five years?
Hello, how long do the A3 batteries (MJ 2012) last on average? Today it was about 18 km. After that car was parked briefly. When I wanted to start, the hands in the instrument cluster shrugged wildly up and down and the starter died immediately again. Keys out and started again, then the car jumped on. Probably indicates a weak battery, right? Car is usually rarely driven further than 25 km at a time (on day 50 km).

Timing belt interval depending on…?
Hello, with my car is now the 3rd timing belt change, the interval is 120,000km. Newer engines, with similar performance, have however now partly double alternating intervals.. What exactly does the interval actually depend on, however, in essence? Direction/number of deflections of the belt, stress/conductor, thermal influences or almost exclusively material quality? If you read on the internet, you read that modern timing belts from clearly resistive There is the question, if this is the case, whether these materials are now taken for all timing belts, so also for those intended for older engines. That could mean then that one no longer has to change theoretically(!) bluntly all 120,000km. I change this with me, of course, nevertheless cautiously, but I was just interested in it now. Lg

Automatically opening and closing doors can be retrofitted?
Hello forum. I am interested in the question mentioned at the beginning with regard to a show car project vehicle. I hope this is the right forum for this. Is there a possibility for the electrical opening and closing of doors for retrofitting? But not in the form of the well-known soft-close technology, but as for example the new Rolls Royce or Maybach has. The doors open completely at the touch of a button and close completely again at the touch of a button. anything on the market? Whether with or without approval and whether China, Amiland and Co? Fix the brake line
Hello, I am just changing the axle on my A3 8P and I noticed that parts of the two brake lines that go forward are rusty. I would like to patch this spot. Should I re-name this spot with a new brake line, blot it and insert the ones with connectors again. I just ask myself how do I stop the brake fluid from running from the separated pipe end in the meantime? I want to prevent that I totally get the brake device. defiled or the ABS unit runs empty.
