Hello dear MT-er! Since I had friction/piston-eater on my moped and didn’t know what to do with the old piston, I thought I was turning/milling a shot glass out of it. But in order to really use it as such, I want to remove the piston from engine oil first of all. Now my question: Is there a cheap way/a simple home remedy to free the piston from engine oil? And should I put a kind of paint on the piston after milling and turning it? Does the bare metal get in the mouth? Thank you in advance LG

Spark plug defective again, same cylinder
Hello! What can be the general reason why a petrol engine (4-cylinder, MPI) has already broken the spark plug twice with the same cylinder? The last time it happened just under 15,000 km ago, now again. Photos from the last time are included. Current photos of this time I am enough. The candle then and today look very similar from the damage picture anyway. By the way, the three candles looked or look good. (P0300, P0304) and the engine was in the emergency run. What should you do now? Simply install new candles, delete errors and continue driving? Thank you for your answers and advice!

I am interested in burning how the legal situation looks exactly at the push of a button yes for a driving cycle switch off start-stop system. I am completely clear that it is not legal to completely deactivate the system, since then the CO2 classification probably doesn’t fit anymore and thus the BE expires. But, how it looks, and I know only well at VAG with the possibility to program the start-stop system on memory? With VCDS it is not a problem on some Audis. Does one switch it off at the push of a button, and this setting he remembers, even after parking the vehicle. Can someone tell me what the law says about it? Allowed, not allowed? Some say after ignition the system must be active, others say there are vehicles there is such a memory function already series? (in Germany?) Additional headlamps driving beam
Hello I don’t agree with the main light at all, and have given me main light auxiliary headlights! Now the control unit always shuts off,and means: pear defective !!! In the past you could clamp everything you wanted, today it’s not possible ! Who knows how to trick the control unit ? The control unit recognizes 12 V. 55W , but not 12 V LED ! Watt nu !? Calculation of speed, UPDATE available!!! Hello together,What speed does my car drive at a certain speed? This question has been asked here in the forum many times recently. That’s why I wrote a small Excel program, which gives you the speed depending on the speed, the translation and the tyres – and that in any gear. You can download the programs from me on the homepage. You need the program “Mature calculator.exe” to determine the rolling range of the respective tyres. And the program “Vmax-Berechnung.xls” calculates the respective speeds in the individual gears. You only have to give the following information: – tire rolling range (from tire calculator.exe) – engine speed – gear ratio – gear ratio of the axle Then the program spits out how fast you really drive at the respective speed. so, have fun now! ciao

Car battery maintenance
Hello together, I have a 7 year old car battery here. After 100km drive, the measured voltage was 12,4v. According to the workshop, the battery still had about 50% capacity and would probably be due sooner or later. I have charged it now with the Ctek-MXS 5.0 and also sometimes worked with the record program. Since yesterday the battery hangs on my multimeter and I have the voltage logged (without charging the battery!). who fell from 13.13V (at the start of the log process) to 12.66V. Does someone have a tip to maintain the lead battery better or to revive it? Thank you, Matze

Chiptuning – Experiences sought
Hello guys, I have been dealing with (chip) tuning of diesel engines of newer years of construction for a long time. There are these two fundamentally different measures: Tuningbox – an additional device which distorts the incoming data and gives the control unit other operating states and real Ciptuning e.g. via the OBD plug where the characteristic lines in the software are changed directly. My question: Who has long-term experience with these tuning measures especially if a sootpart ikelfilter is available. I have always read only reports where you can read about excellent performance gains, low fuel consumptions of over 0.5 liters etc.. But no one has ever reported about his long-term experience: is it even after months/years, many kilometers like that. What was there for failures etc. Hit the keys – and please be honest !

LED daytime running light doesn’t work right??!??!!

Webasto Thermo Top E Troubleshooting Where are the Sth. Experts
Hello all, I bought a used Webasto Thermo Top E and successfully installed it in my diesel vehicle. The heater has about 450h and 1500starts on the clock. The heater ran. However, only when the vehicle was warm after it was moved. Did I start the Sth. in cold condition you had div error in the error memory. Flammwachter 1, no start etc. So well I thought. After 450h it could run out on the burner insert. The old one was leaking somewhere. But now the heater doesn’t start at all. It squirts briefly and then goes out again after about 2 minutes. In the fault memory is just “no start”. This makes you now even if the vehicle has been warmed up before. When I drive the component individually all seem to work. What “wonders” me. The dosing pump clacks extremely loudly in contrast to other pumps I already used. can it have something to do with it? But fuel promotes it. Does anyone have a list of how much ml it needs to promote in a minute? Or does someone have another idea/experience? Thank you very much.
