Hello. I’m writing to the theorists among you. I’m mathematically trying to convert force into acceleration, but I’m stuck. I’m driving an old-timer whose engine power I don’t know and I don’t want to find out. I know all the values like weight of the car, gear ratios etc. and I know that the car comes to 100 in 8 seconds. Based on similar engines, you can also estimate the percentage of power over the speeds, but not the absolute speed. In the Internet I found a formula for the conversion (P=F*v= (m*v/t + 0,645*cw*A*v2 + 0,02*m*g)*v). m = mass in kg v = speed in m/s (27.8 m/s at 100km/h) t = time in sec cw = CW value A = area of the car in sqm (height x width) g = 9,81m/s2 In order to test the formula, I use my C-Class with 200hp and 1,660kg weight. According to Mercedes, this car accelerates from 0 to 100 in 7 seconds. But if I use the formula from the net, then my car would have to have power at 7 seconds and 1660kg 277hp. This is gross nonsense. The logical conclusion is that the formula is no good. What bothers me above all is that there are no values like the transmission ratio. Don’t you need them?

Start-up aid with start-up aid cable
Hello, today I could give a nice neighbor with my 325iA starting aid, had bought me the cable two weeks ago. It stood: for petrol engines up to 2500 cc displacement. There are also starting aid cables for diesel. Can one also give a diesel starting aid with a petrol cable and vice versa? In my case the receiving battery had only 55Ah and the car (an Opel petrol engine) jumped immediately. My battery I believe 70 Ah, would it have been vice versa? Thank you for answers . ciao olderich

Question to the mechanic (Lambda probe)
Hello, my Ford dealer has broken their threads when screwing out the Lambda probe. Since I don’t want to spend 200 EUR on the original spare part, I’m looking for alternatives. I find many alternatives that are called compatible, but they lack a kind of mudguard that can be seen on the attached image. Can anyone tell me if you can remove this protective seal from the probe and connect it to the new probe? The Ford dealer m but I’m not sure if that’s true. Can anyone tell me if universal probes can be easily used for pre- and post-cat? I just bought this now because it was in the compatibility list:http://www.ebay.de/itm/290866681417?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Vehicle is a Ford Fiesta 2009 1.6 TI-VCT

Continuing education as a technician — Which path has more future
Would like to qualify me even further and am not quite sure which direction could make sense for me or would like to hear your opinions. My previous career: # 2000 – 2003 Training as a mechanic # 2003 – 2010 Working in a profession # 2010 – 2012 Continuing training as a technician # 2012 – date Working as a technician To be well prepared for the future I want to be more broadly positioned. Since I (by the way 36 years old) don’t really want to be so much more qualified. A) Acquisition of the additional qualification to become a technical manager at the technical school Gotha (no IHK examination) in 12 months Part-time https://www.fs-gotha.de/…/ B) Putting on certificate courses such as Production & Lean Manager Tüv Süd, Sex Sigma Courses, IPMA Project Leader Training,… Which way do you think is the better alternative? What is better for the future? What will a potential new employer in the CV more appeal to from the career path? The professional goal is to continue to be a “maker” who tackles but also assumes project responsibility and management. What do you think of the offer of the specialized school Gotha in comparison to the IHK Betriebswirt? What is the value in comparison? Or do you necessarily have to study and everything other than a Bachelor makes no sense?

Change coolant air conditioning. How is it current market price?
Moin, The air conditioning of our old Roomster (BJ 2007) did not cool any more. It came only a whistle and lukewarm air. So my wife is in the workshop at the corner and had the coolant replaced once. Cost point 160,- EUR. What I find quite a lot. Even if the plant was completely empty. Only last year we had the remedy filled up. In another workshop. We paid there 50,- EUR. Probably he only refilled and refilled there. Unfortunately, he has planned today to check whether the plant has a leak. So next week again. Workshop argues with the massively increased prices for the coolant. Is that so? I would have arranged it differently, but the woman is simply steamed out without getting any more offers.

0,86 V (lambda) in idle??? Is that okay?
Hello, hope you’ve all come well into the new year. wish you all a good and happy new year 2015. So and now comes a question to you. So to speak the first one in the new year. A buddy of mine has such an OBD reading device. I borrowed that once. With my car, a PoloV, built in 2010, 1.4-l engine, 86 hp (sauger), the device has displayed at idle 0,86 V. Is this now a too fat or too lean mixture in my car in idle. Ke Does any of you perhaps have the values that apply to my car, or what values are normal? Thank you for your answers.

Battery or alternator defective?
Hello, I have been having the problem for a long time that the battery is not properly charged by my scooter. I have to charge the battery every week with my charger, because the voltage drops to just under 12V after a week. But the whole thing only happens when you drive. If the scooter stands for 2 months, the voltage drops from 12.8V to approximately 12.4V. Today I also noticed that the battery is thick in one place. Is this normal? Can I continue with it? The battery is t by the way 2 years old. Can it only be due to the battery or is it also possible that the alternator is defective?

Torque limit in 1st and 2nd gear sense?
Hello, my Mondeo has felt in the first gear 80 hp in the second felt 130 and only in the third has one the feeling that he pulls correctly (160hp). If it were a diesel with 400NM I would understand it but with my 240NM? To 99% I don’t care about the limitation in the first gear, but if I want to get out of an exit quickly it would be helpful if you have the full power. I notice the problem with the second gear every day because I have to climb a steep mountain on the way to work and until you Is that how the drive shafts are protected? Mfg
