  • Windscreen wiper water in cooling liquid

Hey guys, recently I bought my first car and already committed the first stupidity. In my zeal of the first cleaning and “all-round supply” on the occasion of the nice weather I waited my car and accidentally diluted water with frost protection (50:50) in the container for the coolant tipped. Now I am completely irritated what I should do best. It was not really much (about a small finger wide), because not much has been missing, but I can only s What exactly would you recommend to me what I do now? I have read up to now some things that went from “so little is not bad” to “immediately tow and replace”. I assume that one should make a change of the cooling liquid at the place promptly. If it would be sufficient if I had to drive to the workshop and have it done within the next week, or is the said quantity ( it was full 50ml) not critical to consider? Thanks already for reading my message and I am grateful about every post 🙂

  • Very small rockfall, about 10 cm crack going off. Dangerous?

Hello all, I have a very small stone crack (driver’s side viewing window), which itself is much smaller than a 1 cent coin (see photo). However, from the same stone crack a crack of about 10 cm goes off and now I am worried that it could expand. What do you say about it? Should I have the disc changed? I can’t judge whether the crack was there before, just as little as the stone crack is there for a long time, since it is very small. Thank you for your help. Greetings Andre

  • EBC Blackstuff – Brake lining experience

Moin Together, I wanted to ask if there are any more opinions and hopefully experiences about it… So far I have only found the 2 older threads for EBC brakes:https://www.motor-talk.de/…/…rungen-ebc-bramsbelaege-t1828607.htmlhttps://www.motor-talk.de/…/…iben-mit-ebc-black-stuff-t928895.html I can imagine the blackstuff being so bad… With my Mazda 6 GY, the brakes are due in the front, don’t know yet whether they’re just coverings or even scheib en (don’t know what’s installed)… Would have liked coverings that cause little to hardly any brake dust… As a side effect a long durability and a high heat resistance are gladly come! But must fit in price, I find the “colored” EBC brakes a bit bad at the price, but so far I could not find any “simple” ceramic brakes… Greetings Mopedcruiser

  • Power supply Tracker

Hello, I have a tracker Simvalley GT 280, which has a battery of 700 mA. The battery alone, however, only lasts about two days with a daily query. In order for the tracker to remain functional over a long period of time, I connected it to a 12,000 mA power bank, hoping to be able to rest for about four weeks and maintain the function. The power bank itself should be charged with connected vehicle. The problem: the battery en s Trackers emptys (despite the connected power bank) so that I get a message to the battery level at 20% residual charge. Obviously no compensation is made via the powerbank. But when I pull off the charging cable and connect again the battery is charged in the tracker (red indicator light lights). A charge is also done if I press the button to check the charging state on the power bank. What can I do, or must I change that the current is directly from the power bank. Powerbank? Who can help me?

  • Exhaust gas values TÜV from 01.01.2019

Hello together, was with my 206 Peugeot HDI year 2001 Euro3 at the TÜV. This meant that the car will not get through from 01.01.2019 due to tightening of the limit values, and probably all diesel of this age class would then have to be scrapped. Can this be real? And what about my BMW 320D Euro 4 and my wife’s Peugeot 207 HDI Euro 5? Does any of you already know about it? Is there perhaps a table with relevant Euro standards? Greetings

  • Tempomat vs Limiter

Hello to each other, does it technically make a difference for the car whether the cruise control is set to 130 and no gas is given or the limiter is given to 130 or more or less full throttle? Apart from the fatigue of the spring at the accelerator pedal 🙂 I have to re-activate the cruise control after every tap of the brake pedal, the limiter is not. It’s about a quite new vehicle, < 1 year, but without distance control, so I find the limit setting more comfortable Sunday still V Olker

  • Difference in fuel by brand

Hello, I drive a Golf IV 1.6. Normal almost continuously with E10. Mostly I refuel at a free petrol station in our place. From time to time at Aral. Up to now I have never actually filled with Shell. Until 2 weeks ago and since then my car needs extremely little fuel. Can this be related to the fact that I have Shell petrol in the tank? Or are these just different circumstances and the whole thing happens? Have you ever had similar experiences? Greetings, Alex

  • Generator lamp (load control light) “glimmes”

Moin! As a semi-knower of the vehicle electrics a question. How can it be that a generator light in the instrument combi only glows very weakly. The following: My friend noticed yesterday that the generator light went “on” with our Audi A4 B5. She then drove however still about 6km. However, she had probably not lighted brightly, but only slightly glimmered. In the circuit plan I had seen that the light bulb is still “hard-wired”, so no CAN Bus Kack. Somi t I would first say that the generator voltage is so far below the battery voltage that the lamp is just starting to light up. I don’t know what the need – 3V ? Can it lie on the generator or the controller ? or with a 20 year old car possibly a corroded plug-in contact? Thanks and greeting of the “Stevie”

  • Two dealers – two different amounts

Peugeot 208, 99PS, Diesel Year of construction 03/2017 30,000 km Hello, I would like to tell you an interesting story. A few weeks ago a dog ran in front of my car. The masters did not notice that he escaped from the house. To shorten the story: He is doing very well, has nothing For the police the thing has been clear also quickly, the dog owner has to pay for the damage. With them there was also no discussion, they have seen. However, the As privately paid, a dog insurance is not available. Hm, ok, they have now hopefully learned a lot from the matter. Inquiry at the Peugeot car dealership 1 cost damage dog: 1.400€ duration: 1.5 to 2 weeks inspection (now available anyway): approx. 420€ private repair (paint damage on the bumper): 450€ car rental: 35€/day The dog owner fell out of all clouds. He cannot explain the amount of the costs and the duration anyway. I honestly also did not. f agrees that I will get another quote from another dealer.Request from the Peugeot dealership 2 Costs Damage Dog: 600€ Duration: 3 days inspection (now available anyway): ca. 320€ Private repair (painting damage on the bumper): 250€ Car rental: gifted After a short conversation with the master about the high differences, the following results: They are a family business and are happy to work together with satisfied customers. If there was an insurance policy in the back, you could of course do a little more. The inspection is just so cheaper with them. They do the paint damage so cheaply, because they are working there anyway by the impact with the dog, then you can connect it to each other. I get the rental car given by the amount of the costs. I find this incredible. If I find it incredibly brazen I don’t know yet, because I haven’t had much experience with car dealerships yet and how they actually work out. Anyway, the dog owner is a lot happier and I can finish this with a good conscience.

  • H7 LED “flakes” despite decoder

Good morning forum, I have a little problem with the H7 LEDs from C6. I ordered them, infected them and they went on and off in seconds, almost like a slow flickering. That’s why I contacted the seller and he means I need the decoder that I have to clamp between H7 LED and vehicle plug. Order decoder, plug in. On the driver side the LED works perfectly, it does not flash and lights up as it should. However, on the right side the LED goes still on and off (with decoder, however, in a different rhythm than without decoder) Have the LED + decoder from the left side then installed to the right, still flickers. Then the right to the left, runs wonderfully. Then left + right only the decoder changed, LED to the right still flickers, left still runs as it should. By changing the LEDs and the decoders work. But why does the LED not run on the right side? drive a CLK 200 bj 2004 Greetings Yavuz Addendum to OO–II–OO: Addendum/Answer to further below: “. . . so I came to your name (Yavuzffm) and my thoughts at “ffm” on “Frankfurt/Main” . . . but let me help you directly from a car electrician in Turkey . . . 😉 ” and my nickname does not imply where vehicles are driven regularly by me 😉
