  • Honda CB Seven Fifty: At high speed problems with the 3rd gear, etc.

Hello Together I bought a Honda CB 750 F2, built in 1993 with 61’000km. After my first 200km drive I noticed some things that I don’t really like. Since I’m still in the warranty, I wanted to first explore here in the forum what this might be about – maybe someone can help me to the problems of my Seven Fifty: 1.) Problem: When testing the acceleration on a straight track, I’m wrong. This shows as follows: 1st gear, turned up to approx. 8500-9000 rpm 2. gear in, turned up to approx. 8500-9000 rpm Up to now everything is ok, but when inserting the 3rd gear and release the clutch the speed goes up the same, as if the clutch would grind or the gear did not go in properly. If I then switch up again 2x, I am in 5th gear and everything is normal again. I tried again, was in 3rd, I got off the gas and gave again gas, and he turned empty again, so went immediately high in the speed. Will the behavior test today again, but can already say that this has occurred each time at the 3rd gear and high speed. During normal driving I have no problems with the 3rd gear. What can this be? Is there something grosser not ok anymore? 2.) Problem: The front brake always gives a “scratching” noise when braking off. At the strong braking, however, if I drive at a traffic light and brake normally, then it’s an unnatural, grinding/scratching noise for me. Brake blocks still have min. 3mm and the brake disc is also ok. Is this normal with a Seven Fifty? Unfortunately have no comparison option Yes, some questions from a Seven Fifty newcomer. Apart from the above points I am very satisfied and hope that everything can be clarified for the good Thank you for the answers!

  • Honda Hornet 900 BJ:2002 with 70000 km buy?

Hello, today I looked at a Honda Hornet 900 with the following basic data and was impressed by the outside. The test drive follows Monday. Honda Hornet 900 Price: 2500,00 EUR Kilometer level: 70000 km displacement: 900 cm3 Power: 80 kW Next HU: 04.2014 First registration: 4.2002 The dealer said that the previous owner had a car workshop and always made everything very exemplary himself, so there are no inspection certificates or similar. He said that the 2500 € fixed. The wear parts look like this: tires: front about 50% back about 80% chain: clean, doesn’t hang out and has no side play chain wheel: looks like licked, doesn’t look weary yet Brakes: discs: used in the back and front but not worth mentioning Brackets: front vll 2.5 mm back 4 mm What do you think the price is okay? I hope you can give me Help with the decision πŸ˜‰ Greetings Andi

  • Optimal driving whites to keep the fuel consumption low

Hey people, drive now Since yesterday my F Sort (stretched) and drove yesterday in the nice weather 140km. At first it was of course important to me to get to know the vehicle first and I drove around in the city. Everything was slow and hard. Always switched at 3-5k rpm. I got fueled for 22 euros at (1.66€ fuel price) and the tank is still relatively full. So vll. something under the half is still inside. Now I wanted to ask how the most optimal driving white is to drive fuel. So the motorcycles are designed to be able to turn them ruig for ever, but then I think the consumption is also higher? And when should you switch in the city about when you should ride comfortably? Is there 3-5k revolutions in order? Or can the vll. cause any succession damage? Unfortunately I have no idea πŸ™„ Please consider that it is throttled on 48hp (no idea if that has anything to do with it). And another question. How is that when I switch so high that the speed pointer doesn’t move anymore? So you’re in front of her pretty slowly but in such a high gear that the speed pin always stays at 2k, which is even standard with my, which has somehow always 2k revolutions. Does then a higher fuel consumption come about again? And it always seems to me rather unhealthy because the motorcycle then sometimes also starts to stutter a little bit when you are too slow (otherwise it seems to me that the bike sometimes starts to stutter a little bit when you are too slow) I ask because it happened to me a few times while trying out all the gears and playing with the gas etc.. That I was just too slow, my gear too high, and the speed needle didn’t move a bit or so on 2k revolutions.

  • Cbr 900RR SC44 throttle installation

  • CB 250 N/T starts badly

Hello motorcycle community! I recently bought an 81 CB 250N/T (13kW) as a “super bargain” in the bay. The seller told me that there might be some problems after a long service life. It is possible to avoid this by turning the petrol tap about 350 m in front of the home and letting the carburetors run dry. (What is this supposed to do?) Although I have followed this advice, the mopped jumps extremely bad (15 attempts are often nothing, artificial) even if only two days lie between the rides, it is always as described above. If I don’t let the carburetors run empty, it doesn’t go any worse or better in principle. Who knows how to do it???:-( I’m perplexed myself. Thank you very much for your help!!

  • CBF 1000 or VFR 750 RC36

Dear community and concentrated expertise, I am now faced with the agony of choice. Why? Well, I decided to drive a modern mopped. After 35 years with my two-wheeled partner BMW R100/7 it should be something 4cylindrical, from far eastern manufacturing and according to the budget a used one. It should also be something with cardan and 2 exhaust pipes. ??? Yes, with almost 60 you are already part of the old school. Further requirements are: Put on, drive, the needy After several weekends of intensive research in the nice net I am no longer so sure with 2 pipes + Kardan. Because I have found the two mΓΆpps: CBF 1000 (without 2. F): Current technology, ABS, rows4, only a few years young and used in good selection on the market. Optically very appealing. But is not quite so doll from the quality of the workmanship. VFR 750 RC36: Proven technology, V4, after the B Very well processed. Of the sitting position probably also pleasant for an older Semster and socio. Is also only 13 to 14 years old. A feast for the eyes. However, it can only be found in a clear number on the used market. Has any of you already “experienced” the direct comparison between the two? Are these worthy successors for my BMW? I hope for one or the other response. Otto from the Lower Rhine

  • CB 500, Transalp or what?

Fans, I still want to invest in a Honda despite “something” of advanced age. Which do you suggest for me? I have been on a CB 500F trial today. How does the used market look like? And what confidence can one assume in case of an accident-free situation? Would be grateful for a few hints.

  • Who knows a CBF 600 N really well?

Servus, yesterday I laughed at a CBF 600 N – year 8/2010, 17,000 km -. I would be interested in your experience values. In every respect. Positive and negative. At the end of the 90s I was allowed to drive a 600 hornet, which I had spontaneously fallen in love with. I did not drive it very long, however, because I was still in training and at some point I missed the money πŸ™ After that I did not ride a motorcycle for 15 years. In the middle of July I arrived from f the glorious idea of laughing at a “best possible working animal” (with which I really wanted to go to work every day) and finally ended up with a CM 185 T (BJ: 1978), but I am simply too little lover and also not a “screwer” to get along with such a really very solid motorcycle. I then returned it again (of course with loss) and got the CBF for it, which I like very much and with which I have already been driving for several years my father got himself with the first Norton Commando 961 S registered in Germany a few years ago and we will do a longer tour again and again. I would really be very happy about some helpful tips. renhoeg
