  • Oil pressure – when to build up after short service life

Servus Forum members, I have been a happy owner of a Hyundai i30N in the colour Shadowgrey for a short time. I would have the following question. From when is the complete oil pressure set up for the lubrication of the engine (engine operating temperature, oil approx. 85-90 degrees). I stopped my vehicle yesterday while refueling about 10min.. After refueling the engine on and after 4-5 seconds, directly full gas on the highway. Is this bad or harmless? Oil type: 0W30 Greetings from Bad en-Württemberg

  • Purchase of a used i30 1.6CRDI DCT

Hello forum, I think about buying a used i30. Drive currently a Golf 6 1.6TDI as a switchcar. A VW or in general a German car does not come to my door anymore. The Golf is a single Monday car after 150,000 I already have water pump oil cooler flange with oil cooler, 2 injectors and the AGR valve have to exchange. Since I had a Honda before and generally only hear good from cars from Asia, the i30 is at the top of the list. Every day at any rate one Euro 6 diesel and with the whole traffic jam an automatic. Now I read that the DCT in the i30 probably does quite a problem, which deters me of course. What do you think about it and what else is there about the engine or the car which is so typically defective sooner or later? Timing belts or control chain and how long does this or this hold about? I would be grateful for your experiences.

  • 1. Service at the nine I30

Hello, had my I30 (90 hp diesel/year of construction 2012) at the first annual service – have now about 9,000 kilometers on it and was honest about the price or about the thirst-guided works a bit shocked – because I paid just over € 200 (oil for the oil change I had myself with – otherwise it would have been around about € 100 more expensive). Lt. my dealer I have to carry out certain “services” in order not to fall out of the 5-year guarantee – and indeed 1x annually – regardless of how much I would like to know whether this is just and/or whether others have similar high costs. Next year, my dealer will have a complete maintenance of the climate + additionally a change of brake fluid … I don’t know if this is just – in the service booklet I don’t find any specifications. Thank you for the answers!

  • Buying advice/Search Android Radio/Navi for i30 Facelift

Hello and nice Sunday! The i30 Kombi Facelift is ordered and will be there soon *hopefully*. I want to replace the simple factory radio with a third-party device as soon as possible. It should be accurate, so no standard double-DIN with aperture. Probably it will therefore be a device from China. Example: http://www.aliexpress.com/…/32572330771.html?… Has jmd. with this experience? The devices are available at first glance in thousands variants and at many different prices. If I ” Quad” and “1024” as additional search terms, but will probably every hit be the same model, or what do you mean? – Can I connect the device without further adapters? – To the hands-free function: Where does the factory micro sit at the i30? Can this be used further? If not, does jmd. have experience with the micro installed in the device? Or should one install an external micro? – I have read something about CAN-BUS somewhere, what does it have on me? – In the product description If jmd. has such a model: – Does the steering wheel FB work without restrictions? – Can you continue to use the existing USB port and the AUX port? – How precise is the part and how is the processing? – Has jmd. connected a back/front cam at the same time, if yes, which one and by radio or cable? Is the additional effort worth? — – Questions about questions, and probably no end in sight 🙂 I would be pleased if jmd. takes the time and makes trouble. Dear greetings, Benjamin

  • Motor oil for short distance, heat exchangers and funny sounds…!

Hello, I have 3 questions in my luggage. First of all I mostly drive short distances and if possible also extra times long tours. On the safe way I want to be there with a motor oil which fits to that driving profile. Which can I take there? I30, petroler, 1.4 109hp Second, for the same reason, I would like to install (let) a water/oil heat exchanger? Which do I take? Can I also install it myself? Third, I hear ratters from the engine room, probably the Control chain? Is it possible to reset it? How much does it cost? In addition, the car smells quite strong and loud like a coke can? What could that be?

  • Inspection costs 5th year spark plug change Hyundai 1.0 T-GDI i30 Combi (PDE)

Hello together, my wife is driving a Hyundai 1.0 T-GDI i30 Kombi (PDE) 120hp as our family flicker. We bought the car in 2019 as a day car and now the 5th inspection is on the car. Introduction / Context Unfortunately, we have had very bad experience with the contract workshop where we were originally, because too much oil was filled in and filters were not changed. In the case of two warranty cases, in which leaky Simmerrings and others oil on the clutch disc n came, you wanted to have an own share of 600€. First contact with Hyundai and great tenacity then led to the repair of the defects also free of charge. All other maintenance repairs (brakes, …) I do now by myself, only during the inspection we drove until the accumulation of the last incidents always to the Hyundai dealer to keep the guarantee. Now to the actual point My wife has now at a free workshop regarding the small inspection In addition to the oil change, the spark plugs should also be changed. As an offer we then received a cost estimate of 480€, which I find very happy. Reason of the workshop: The spark plugs would be so expensive and the change quite elaborate. I have now briefly researched what should be so expensive at the ZK change and find this rather humbug. If only the cardboard and ignition coils / pins are removed, then the one laughs at. What is more credible are the Pre ise for the candles. 135€ (rounded) with shipping, for 4 candles on the Hyundai accessory side. Actually I only need three. From NGK there is the ILKR9Q7G, which should fit according to OE number. Since I always do everything myself on the cars and (thank God) could do without the TÜV and the last inspections on workshops, I am not sure how I should estimate the price from 480€.My questions: 1. Is the estimate for 480€ still in the frame and I r Do you think that’s too expensive? 2. Does anyone have experiences with the NGK spark plugs or should they rather be installed in original ones? I drive an old Astra G myself as a commuter car, where I always had good experiences.

  • The rear fog lamp on the left is on, although switch on off

Hello you, my i30 (special model Yes LED headlights and LED rear lights) from 2020 has the following problem. If the light turns on automatically or manually, the left NSL (or it flickers) burns even though the NSL is not switched on. If I turn on the NSL, both sides burn and the left side does not flicker either. If I turn off the NSL, the right side goes off and the left side stays on and flickers off and on. Does anyone have an idea?
