  • Liability damage Residual value

Hello together, I had an accident recently, someone drove me into the car. My vehicle was brought in and an expert commissioned. I received the report today. However, what is not clear to me, why in the report is spoken of a residual value. The car is 3 years old and has 30,000km. According to the report, the replacement value is almost 16,000€ and the rep cost is 9500€. The residual value at 6.990€. I always thought that there is only one residual value, we Can anyone explain this to me??

  • Test drive CLA 45 AMG

Hello guys, I want to say in advance, I’m new here, if I post the topic in the wrong area, I’m sorry. Short information about me: 21 years old, already owns 4 years of driving license. I decided to buy a CLA 45 AMG. So after I have been in contact with a Mercedes salesman for over 2 months, I finally get my test drive. Even from Friday to Saturday (overnight). My problem! The Mercedes dealer needs a person for insurance, who at least 25 years old (my father would register for this). literal mail from the seller: ”Unfortunately our contracts allow a test drive only from 25 years old, therefore I can only do the test drive for this group of persons for a longer period of time. The test drive takes place over the longer period and the test driver is e.g. your father, then we can use it and you also have the possibility to drive ” My question to you : How would you see that? Can I also drive the car if you don’t sit next to the car? Let’s start from the worst: it wouldn’t work that I can’t drive the car alone, but still do it and build an accident and my father is NOT sitting next to it… What would happen then? Would I be happy about your answers!! MFG Pascal

  • Old-timer insurance without valuations

Good evening, today I have successfully received a vintage car registration for my Ford Fiesta. Since I do not want to have a valuation report drawn up and the expert said that there are insurance companies that do not need a valuation report, here’s my question: Do anyone know here in the Motor-Talk Forum insurance companies who do not require a valuation report? I would like to thank you now for useful tips. A nice rest weekend Martin Christahl

  • How to proceed with subsequent damage to Marderbiss?

Hi, yesterday when I was changing tyres at the Opel Corsa D, I found out that the coolant tank was almost empty. After more detailed inspection of the engine compartment, I noticed that the coolant hose was bitten by a marten. As a result, the whole coolant ran out. A day later, I got the cooler hose as a spare part from an Opel dealer and replaced it for the defective hose (the defective hose with the marten bite marks I have on Since this “only” cost 27 euros and I could install it myself, we did not want to make an insurance case out of it because of the hose. After successfully changing the hose I filled the coolant again up to the max. limit and let the engine warm up. When giving gas in idle I noticed then that white smoke comes out of the exhaust and loud “glucky noises” were audible. The engine temperature rose partly to up to 112 degrees. Furthermore, I noticed that the the fan was not activated by the engine even at high temperatures (on the engine of the fan there are spots of dripped cooling center visible, probably this led to a defect of the fan motor). After a conversation with a friendly mechanic we now suspect that the cylinder head could be broken, since the car was moved without sufficient coolant. The car should now be brought to a workshop for inspection. Unfortunately we have the marten The car does not have a sensor that warns you about it. This would be a consequential damage after Marderbiss, which is also covered by our insurance rate up to 5,000 euros. We would like to report the damage now to the insurance company. But how do we proceed here? – When do I have to report the damage to the insurance company? – Could there be problems with the insurance because I changed the coolant hose myself? – Could there be problems with the insurance because we drove unknowingly with an empty coolant container? (We only noticed when the tyre was changed, that the container was empty and then discovered the marten damage there) – What else is there in this case? a case to consider? Thank you for your answers!

  • Excess participation

Hello dear Auto-Communtiy, I have a question regarding a damage with 50:50 quota and the corresponding excess, but someone can give me an answer. Behavior: Accident built, against guardrail. -Full casket -300€ Excess – Damage 4400€. -In case of collection in the car dealership my 300€ excess is paid But now the insurance does not want to take over the damage completely, but only 50%. Calculatingly 4400 by 2 = 220€ I already have 300€ to the Autohau The insurance company wrote in advance: “[….. Repair costs car 4400€ according to liability rate 50% 220€ deductible -300€ total 1900€ We have transferred the amount to the car dealership…]” But why do they deduct the 300€ deductible, they have to pay 220€, or do I see this wrong? MFG

  • Accident after accident

Hello everyone. And this is what it’s all about, my father accidentally hit a car (E-Coupe) from a driveway about 2 weeks ago when he returned from a parking lot, which was wrong in an absolute stop ban. So he hit him in the front. We also reported this damage to the insurance company. Now I learned that the owner of the other car (E-Coupe) had a car accident today, whereby the whole front of the car suffered a very big damage. The whole front of the car is broken (engine hood, lights,…). Luckily the owner is doing well. My question is now whether I still have to pay the previous damage caused? If I know, he had not yet done an expert report for the damage I caused. Due to this accident today, my damage to his car is no longer to be determined, since his accident was too big. There are only pictures of the damage. If I still had to pay for the damage I suffered, the driver of the E-Coupe would face a partial debt, as he had parked wrongly around in an absolute stop ban, which was right next to the driveway, as already mentioned.

  • Economic total damage WBW probably misidentified

Dear motor talk forum, I would have a question about the following case. I was stolen the vehicle and then crashed. Now I have the report available and I am a bit surprised. My vehicle is a CLK 320 CDI with AMG package. The repair costs seem to be 12000 euros. The WBW has estimated the SV to 9200 euros. But this is completely wrong. In the net there is no CLK 320 Coupe with AMG package under 11000 euros. In the report is also under equipment nic Under the spare parts list is also only the part number of the ordinary bumper. Oddly enough also divese other parts, such as a halogen headlight, although I have Bi-Xenon. Can you give me tips on how to do it best. With friendly greeting

  • Total damage with leasing car – full cost

Perhaps someone can give me some advice here: Several months ago I had a relatively serious accident, which caused a total damage to a passat variant. The question of guilt was initially supposed to be clear, also according to the police, so that the opposing liability insurance was on the train and in the boat from the beginning. Since it was a VW leasing vehicle, VW insisted on a self-ordered expert, as far as no problem was concerned, since it was an opposing liability damage. In addition, the car had to be sent a second time (by order of the police!) to a safe depositary, which resulted in additional towing and storage costs. However, in the further course of the investigation the question of guilt was reduced, so that I now sit on my own Kasko damage, with which now gradually the invoices infiltrate:Replacement rental car Unfortunately, I’m stuck on the costs, annoyingly enoughExpert costs Here my Kasko pays only approx. 30% of the actual costs incurred, which means a bar of money (approx. 1300,- EUR) difference. The insurer refers to the clause that evaluator costs are refunded only after prior agreement, however, I did not even have the opportunity to have an evaluator ordered by my insurance company, since there was no reason for the agreement at first and VW insisted on a “own” evaluator! What can I do here? 2. Towing costs Also here my K 400,- of 550,-. I don’t know what exactly was deducted there (request is running), but I can’t explain the reduction here either. (The first towing was taken over by the ADAC protection letter). All in all an extremely expensive matter for me, despite comprehensive
