Hello together, as mentioned in other threads, my wife and I are in the planning for a long-distance motorhome. For the purpose of off-road characteristics I would take with the MAN 14.00 R20 tires. Do you know if it is also possible to get on such a chassis „legal-the 16.00 R20 tires on it, with acceptance etc… It is not about sense or nonsense, just if that would be possible somehow. Oh yes the chassis would be an 18.340 with DoKa Best thanks in advance! Oh yes it is about the tire size. I’d like to see Michelin XZL or something…

Motorway construction sites – narrow tracks, e.g. A 31
Hi guys, I don’t find the right one in the archive, so I’m opening a new one here. How do you hold it in the highway construction sites, where a concrete or metal wall is built on the right side, while the right track is very narrow, and the left track is 2.1 meters wide. With the truck you fit on the right side so easily, if I drive left with the outer edge about on the middle strip, I felt to the right about 20 cm space, I guess. Maybe the right track is also 3 m wide, But it seems dangerously narrow to me. I drive on the A 31 several times a year, there are currently two construction sites á 5-6 km. Three times it was felt almost crash, when a SUV and twice a station wagon passed me to the left, I had felt to the right maybe 10-15 cm, the overtaking car to the left and between us too, felt. There was a very nice nozzle, when it sometimes scrapes at the side, or I come to the right, then it cracks and everything is blocked. Car overtakes me and the saddle in front of me, and this probably also got such a shock that he then drove in the middle for the rest of the construction site. Tempo was about 65 at allowed 60. I almost always see several trucks on this construction site, which drive so far in the middle, so that no one can overtake. Now my questions: What minimum distance do you have to hold to the right wall ? 50 cm ? Or drive the not intentionally “centered”, but keep the required distance to the right , and then nobody can overtake it, because it is then left too narrow, so no intention or coercion. How do you hold it, I drive right and hope that nothing happens ? If you are only allowed to drive 60 (and you drive maybe 65), no one should drive faster on the left anyway. So it would be useful to drive in the middle to keep the necessary distance to the right and there is no unnecessary accident. What do you think ? VG, Andre

Hello dear community am new in the commercial vehicle area, have now some questions, and I am a little confused about the conditions of the driving recording. And I bought a MAN KAT 6×6 in Holland, now my question is I have to keep records if I want to operate this for purely private use. So tachograph, or tachograph necessary, the KAT has now since BW vehicle an analog disc tacho this I do not have to use however private Right? And above all what does the Tüv say about it. Vehicle is unchanged and should also get H-marks. Greetings Tewely

Extension of truck driver’s license. Modules when to register?
Hello I have just completed the 5 modules. So the EU professional driver course, which you need for commercial journeys. My driving license C/CE, acquired in 2003, expires now in July 2013, and has to be extended for another 5 years. My question. Should I have the driver’s license extended now and have the modules registered? or can I wait until July 2013 and then have the modules entered there? What is smarter? Would both go? Additional question. If I had acquired this licence before 2000, did I have to go there only from 50 years? I am now at the end of 30. Can you please write something to me. Greetings G2S

Right wheel formula for heavy terrain?
Hello, my wife and I are in the first planning phase for our world motorhome, because we want to take a longer time out in 5 years. I have already asked the various manufacturers, which wheel formula they consider most useful for the heavy, worldwide off-road use, but did not get a clear and satisfactory answer. I am of course aware that the choice of the chassis also has to do with the range, water quantity etc., but wanted to know about you It would also be nice to hear a few experiences from you about the respective drives (whether long-distance motorhome or construction site vehicle etc… is heavy terrain). Thank you for your answers LG (was not sure if I should post it here, or in the offroad forum, but basically it is about trucks )

Convert Mercedes Sprinter 616 or Fiat MAXIRider to a party bus
Hello everybody, I’m new here and also relatively ignorant in the field of truck & utility vehicles. So please forgive me for the one or other “dumb” question. It’s about the following, I want to buy a minibus/line bus and convert it to a party bus. Meaning: sit out to 16, partially darken windows, sound system in and everything you need so that you can celebrate a good party. After that you should be allowed to drive by bus on public roads and carry 16 people fen. Why 16 because I don’t want to make the big bus driver’s license. Or what do you have to have for conditions to transport people from A to B. What condition do I have to create so that I can carry people. I had imagined that in the rear area the seats are like in a VIP lounge. And at the front of the sides folding seats and in the middle, so to speak, the dance floor. What costs come to me in terms of registration insurance and taxes. the bus originally has 21 seats, and I reduce them to 16 seats. Can I then drive the bus with a small driver’s license or not. Can you tell me where I can buy good and cheap minibuses such as the Mercedes Sprinter 616 or the FIAT MAXIRider FX 109. Which websites are there? Can you possibly recommend another small bus to me. Please don’t have a coach or low-floor bus?! Questions about questions. l for the answers Greeting Tim

What moves you here in the forum
Hello members ! I have been watching this forum for a few months now. Many questions are conclusive and appropriate. Your answers are also very good. What interests me is simply whether you are satisfied with questions/answers in this forum. You give answers to questions that are very good, on the other hand you are attached to topics on which in my view are not secondary but absolute nonsense. Why do you do that.??? I would be interested. Just to write something ?? Just to get rid of your own opinion ??? Documenting your own frustration?? I don’t know. But would be very interesting to know what moves you to be active in this forum. Best regards Uwe

Trucker Tale – Doubtful truths.
This forum area is about trucks & commercial vehicles, which cannot be moved if you don’t have the right drivers. These drivers, also called drivers, professional drivers or truckers, are now people who surround the same ordinary and unusual things as any other. The usual is enriched by the mythical, the special. The driver does a special job. This is what this thread is all about. It doesn’t matter if the driver has a special job. This is because, for example, Matze lied to us – but also repentantly converted or you often doubt the competence of young participants, whether it is experiences, trucker stories, stories, experiences – whatever has a dubious truth content, can be discussed here. I start with the attached picture. Is this a Mercedes or not?

Oil filter cover broken again 🙁
Hi mein Actros is now well 2.5 months old and has about 38TKM down, now last Saturday for the 2nd time the lid from the oil filter ripped as a consequence there was again heavy oil loss 🙁 …. As far as I know mine is the only one in our fleet the problem had rushed to. If someone has no idea what it might be that the dinger could break again and again. I don’t want to have to sprinkle at night with binders 🙂 quite apart from the fact that there is every time n amount of time in on As in the zoo, everyone is looking at a stupid grin …. The torque is not the last one to be changed by the Mercedes screwdriver himself.
