Hello to all brake professionals , Today we had a problem with an Actros MP 4. The tractor is currently standing in the workshop and the truck master has no precise explanation. To the problem: Our driver calls, and complains that the tyre pressure of the inner tires of the HA constantly rises. When stopping in the parking lot the brakes of the HA are both hot. All other axles are cold. Now he has paused for 2 hours and then drove 7 km to the next workshop. There, the HA was again Mercedes had him saddled off and the SZM checked. The machine drives perfectly in solo operation and becomes neither hot nor was any error read out. Then our driver was sent away again. The master blabbed something with ABS in his beard and wished for a nice weekend. Of course the driver called again after 15 min, which the HA became hot again. Due to the casual statement of the master I recommended the driver to pull off the ABS cable… …. and see, he came the 200 km to the home workshop. The HA of the SZM was cold. Now my question…. what the hell can that be? Maybe someone has a advice. Tomorrow morning Mercedes falls on the trailer. But what do I do if MB has no solution. MAN TGL8.180, Automatic remains in first gear
Hi, we have a MAN TGL8.180 as a fire truck (Automatic, BJ 2010, ~5Tkm). Actually, he always has the problem that he sometimes stays in first gear and turns to the speed limiter (manually switching is not possible, kickdown does not bring anything). Before I clear the points with the TÜV I am at the exchange of all liquids on the vehicle. Oils are changed except the rear axle and the servo all. Now I have a problem with the cooling liquid. I have (a large part?) dropped the cooling liquid at the deepest point of the system Now the liquid no longer circulates towards the engine. The cooler stays cold and the engine gets warm. I have the feeling that it has something to do with the thermostat and/or with the ventilation. Unfortunately, I did not find any precise instructions in the net, maybe someone can help me here? AdBlue in diesel tank
Moin together, unfortunately a more than stupid misadventure happened to me. I tipped about 10 liters AdBlue into the diesel tank with a rental vehicle (Mercedes Benz 816 Bj. 2014 ). So this is when you drive after several years again trucks and then get also still incomplete information at the tank … I then drove about 2 km to the place of the provider and then the vehicle went out already. But the engine turned still. Now I got the invoice over 7500,- Euro !?! The damage was fixed by a MB contract workshop. Lt this invoice was based on a fixed price package and probably the whole fuel plant replaced. Even pipes have been completely renewed… No prices for parts or services can be seen from the invoice. My question to you: Is this procedure normal? Isn’t it rather the case that the parts are cleaned and flushed? What makes me stubborn is the long workshop time of 13 days. does not even need my workshop if it has to order parts from Sweden for my old Volvo… Would be nice if someone could help me with my questions.

Actros gear damage?
Hello, maybe you can help me. It’s about an Actros 1846 SZM with automatic transmission. The gearbox is a Powershift II (G281-12). Running power: 475000km. The problem is that the gearbox, especially in thrust mode, cracks or snaps. It sounds like you’re breaking a plastic ruler. But even sporadically, not always. He does this in all gears. One might think he wants to put in a gear, even though there is one in it, or as if a shifting socket is in it. The strange thing about the whole story is that the error is only mostly reproducible when driving backwards left in the circle. The rear axle, cardan shaft, retarder, as well as the rear group can be excluded, which I checked in the most catchy way. I also had the same problem with another gear control unit ->. The in the workshop can also do no rhyme on what the auc h could only be in the remotest place. (4 different) But everyone says it definitely comes out of the gearbox.
