  • Tyre wear on the steering axle TGA

Hello, have a problem with the running behaviour of the tyres of the steering axle on the TGA! The tyres run extremely inward, on the right side with very large wash-out on the half roll-off surface. In addition, the tyre develops “saw teeth” on each block with straight longitudinal profile, which means that the outer groove is higher than the adjacent inner groove, comparable to that sometimes found on the rear axle, just in the direction of travel inward! the axle leg bolt changed! Recently both wheel bearings were tested and if possible, the axle leg was checked to the left and if possible! A month ago steering gear and pump changed; on the track nothing has ever been changed and the vehicle has been lubricated by hand for a year! I am grateful for tips and information! Gruss Noseman

  • What tire size is that?

Hello, I bought a braked car trailer and can’t do anything with the designations on the tires. On the tires it says: 185 R 14 C 102/100 R Tubeless. All Season. All weather and the width are clear. However, I don’t find a ratio of the height to the width, or even a speed index. Will you be smart from this? I have to order new tires for the trailer and can’t get any further here. Also, it would be interesting to know if I have a 100km/h registration with the tires. Thank you for your tips.

  • MAN Pritarder – Experience Durability?

Hello, vehicle is an 8×4 construction vehicle. D26 engine with Pritarder (so it’s a water retarder that is flanged at the front of the crankshaft). Does anyone have (long-term) experience with the Pritarder from MAN? I think we all agree when you say that the Pritarder system has an unsurpassed and unique braking characteristic due to the direct motor speed dependence. But what about the durability? I have already read a few relevant posts here in the forum. . Basically, the Pritarder in the MAN’s seems to be rather vulnerable. Is it really the case that the things smoke after a maximum of 100,000km? The vehicle described above now has the 400,000km full and on time a Pritarderundichte announces itself (probably a torn rubber membrane which ensures that the pressure on the balance tank goes). And what would be the solution here? Persevere on the engine brake and accept an increased brake wear? rather than investing in a new Pritarder… I’m looking forward to your contributions. Thank you in advance for any helpful answer! EDIT: Ohso, the vehicle is built in 2009. I only mention this because the Pritarder have been improved in between (allegedly).

  • Soot particle cleaning Crafter/Sprinter

The Mercedes Sprinter 311, Diesel and the VW Crafter, Diesel, are comparable to me. Each vehicle has its advantages and disadvantages, which have to be weighed up in the decision. Now the Mercedes salesman told me at the decision stage that for example the exhaust gas particulate cleaning of the Mercedes would have the better solution and it happens with the crafter that if you arrive at the destination, or before, a yellow The warning light lights up, and then the cleaning (combustion )= should start shortly afterwards, which is why it would be wise not to switch off the vehicle, but to drive high-tour through the area for 10 minutes. If you don’t do that, you would have two start/driving attempts to catch up with it later, otherwise the vehicle must be replaced by the filter in the workshop. With Mercedes it would be better to solve it and here you wouldn’t need to pay particular attention. There are users of new ( 2020 ) crafters who could describe their experience to me? It would be terrible if one were to be subject to this “disability”… A step backwards for mobility. Thank you for your answers Greeting JP

  • Add a card = working time?

Moin, my question refers to the plugging of the card. Sometimes it happens that I am unsure when I took my card out, as far as I know, you can’t recognize it anywhere on the device when the card was taken. Now to my question, can it be interpreted as working time if I insert my card already after 8.55 hours? I can go directly to pause, so that the tacho has nothing to complain about, but how does it look in a control, after all I have active something made on the vehicle. Greetings

  • Trucks sold, and the OBU?

Haaaalloooo, I sold my truck. will be picked up next week. Now I remembered, what do I do with the OBU? With most used trucks I have seen that only the holding frames are in there but no OBU. I don’t want to buy a new truck where it is installed. Do you have to dissolve the registration or can you let it pass? Do you have to send the OBU to Toll-Collect? ??????? I have sent an email to Toll-Collect with these questions, but I fear I get the answer again in 14 days or so. I thank you already for your numerous answers. Greetings from Tonmann

  • Tow truck with foldable plateau or wing

Hello dear ones, is there a light tow truck up to a maximum of 7.5 t, where the plateau is foldable at the rear? The parking space with me on the terrain is very limited and if I could shorten the vehicle length by a foldable rear, if it is not in use, would be very helpful to me. Can anyone tell me if there is a tow truck with such equipment? Or if you can retrofit it afterwards (see the registration?). and hints very grateful! Greetings!

  • Handbrake valve loses compressed air

Hi, I’m Oliver, I’m new to this forum and I have a question right now. I’m trying to fix a truck again, now I’ve noticed that the hand brake valve at the connection loses air. I was in the workshop with it and they want to have a little bit more than 400 euros for the repair and replace the whole valve. Since I was too expensive I went home and looked myself (I’m a car mechanic myself) however a.D. The air escapes at the connection wess to an adapter, it looks like there is a plastic seal in which the brass piece which is connected to the air hose is inserted. The whole is then screwed onto the hand brake valve. Even if you change the valve, the leak would not be gone. The seal itself looks like a high ring and is rotatable, can you replace something like that yourself? and how do you get it out of there?. From my car time I don’t know it. To the workshop would like I no longer, the diagnosis, which is clearly wrong has already cost 40,-Euro, because I did not read it there. I know, a lot of text but probably someone has some advice for me. MfG Oliver

  • What can be loaded in FRIGO??

Hello, I import frozen meat from Germany to Croatia and currently have an 18 tonner. The problem is always the empty journey from Croatia to Germany and therefore I have to buy a semi-trailer with freezer and thus also to transport goods to the north. Since my company is in Croatia and I have no CEMT enclosure, I can only load and export in Croatia. But here the loads are to 99% wood, stone, screws, parket, etc. would be interested now if I can transport only food in a freezer in which I also drive TK meat, or if I can also transport other pallet goods? I ask you that only someone contact if he is really quite sure in what he writes and not I believe… It is very important to me! Thank you in advance…
