  • Tachograph in a 3.5-to-sprinter: Compulsory use?

Hello to this honourable forum, despite eager torment of the search function I am unsure, therefore the question: I would like to purchase a used Sprinter 313 CDi box van for own commercial purposes (house management). I also have a good offer, the car has an zGG of 3,500 kg, a trailer coupling and therefore an EC-tachograph (for 1 day / 2 drivers, original MB equipment) inside. This harmless looking box worries me now: 1) I have to hold a driver card for this thing? 2) Does the tachograph always have to be used or only if I drive every jubilee with a (borrowed) trailer? Because 99.8% of the car is moved solo. For enlightenment I thank and wish everyone here a good turn into a healthy 2009!

  • Distance not respected

Hello, I have been stopped today on the A42 by a patrol car. I am accused of having kept too little distance. As evidence three photos were taken with a digital camera from the police car. Do not have distance measurements to be filmed? What punishment awaits me at about 18 meters distance at 80 km/h? Greeting Christian

  • Fleetboard is not a devil

For 6 months I have been riding with Fleetboard and trying to constantly improve my values (my current value is 9.5). Actually, I was looking for tips on how to do it even better and found this forum. To be honest, I can’t understand all the excitement here. It should be economical and safe for everyone to drive. There is a bonus system with which you can get a bonus payment every three months depending on the values you have achieved. I don’t want to spare that money. With all the surveillance you don’t have to see it so strictly. If you don’t let yourself be owed and only do your job you have nothing to worry about. For people who prefer to do something else in their working hours than work, it can of course be problematic with Fleetboard. I also have a big problem in the air. The time pressure that I had before. Constantly rushed through the Republic, with 90 things on the speedometer, dates that expired yesterday and a stressed one on the steering wheel of a 40 ton weapon. With Fleetboard completely impossible. You have to understand that, no dispatcher of the world can rush you now, you have to drive economically to reach the values so the dispo must plan also so, that is now the priority. It is actually the best What could happen to us drivers. Work without pressure and stress. Since driving with Fleetboard, the work is fun for me again. Now people have stress, who sit in my neck to be 5 minutes in front of me at the finish. Greetings

  • Operation of the EC control unit during dual-drive operation.

Hello, I have a question. I was on the road last week in two-driver operation. I was driver 1 and the other driver 2. I could have driven the tour by myself, but we should drive together. With me the device for driver1 (turn) indicated, for driver2 (hammer and sickle for work). Is that right?? Because I have always learned the driving time is the same working time and if I do nothing, then break or sleep so bed. That would mean then, if I nac h 4 hours stop and driver2 continues, then he should only drive for half an hour, because the device was at work. I would have said now, the device has to show for drivers 2 break, how does he almost do nothing. How is this evaluated or seen. How do the bus drivers, who drive to two to Italy or Scandinavia, do it. They only change and drive completely. So how do they set this?? or the second driver puts his card first dan n in if he really drives?? You can only change the setting on the machine in the stand as soon as you arrive, then comes back to steer and work.

  • IVECO Daily

Hello to all Iveco connoisseurs, my Iveco has refused today to start with the starter. Well, push-on/rolling has only lit the charging control and a red lamp, which looks like ́ne injection nozzle. At this time no air conditioning, no electric window lifters, no blanks, etc. After about a minute all this went again, except the starter. I type on a defective magnetic switch. I have the feeling that the idle speed has also been too high since today I can’t explain the connection between these failures. I hope someone knows each other, because here in “Rand Africa”, where I live, there is no (trustworthy” Iveco workshop. Every time the Iveco was there, something else is broken. Thanks in advance.

  • Navis for trucks

Plan to buy a private navigator for my truck. Which devices can you recommend?

  • MB-Telligent – Driver searched

Hello, in another thread it was claimed that the Telligent circuit burdened the driver unnecessarily and heavier, especially in tricky situations, the safe operation of the truck. On my question for an example of such a situation there was nothing more about it. Who can give an example in which a brittle situation was worsened by this circuit? PS.Contributions of the designated Telligentverachter(ScaniaChris and Schrolf 97) are not counted!

  • Beginner driving truck…..Back

Moin my name is Steve and I’m training for the BKF. I’m allowed to practice on the company property with the truck and a trailer. ( truck driver’s license I don’t have yet ) But now I have a problem driving forward and around curves works quite well. But driving backwards into the workshop I just can’t get there. Driving that until now I had to teach myself. My instructor is an ass and he doesn’t care if I can drive or not How can I drive? am I changing the way I come in backwards ?

  • Actros Turbo Damage

Hello together! Unfortunately it caught our good 3350 AK, with 600 tkm in the wood transport: early in the morning the shaft of the engine stowage brake broke off, the flap fell to it. Amazingly, the M8 bolted lightly, where we unscrewed the flap from the shaft. In the late afternoon a screaming noise, driver stopped engine immediately, today towed to the MB workshop and: turbocharger damage, as we thought, the left lost a shovel on the compressor wheel, not exhaust side you don’t notice much when the engine was running at the stand, only a howling, like with a hair dryer. So, now the question arises to me, can this all be a coincidence?? We swap the turbos, clean everything, splinters we found no, oil tank comes down, LLK I want to leave.

  • Who knows about Deutz F8L 312 engines?

Hello everyone, have a Magirus Deutz 168 D 17 standing at home, which does not want to start motor: F8L 312, V8, air cooled, 186hp, flame starter I renewed: -new starter -new batteries -1 new flame glow candle -diesel lines cleaned from tank to injection pump -new diesel filter -old diesel drained and new diesel filled in -1 new high pressure line -Webasto stand-up heating decommissioned (in one year it would have dropped anyway) After a few start attempts the engine makes 3-4 kl a cougher, then sprayed a bit of brake cleaner into the air intake line, when starting the engine jumped away immediately but only as long as he got brake cleaner, after that nothing again. I suspect that the engine still does not get diesel, despite airing, but I don’t know why. Have pictures of the injection pump (Bosch PE8A 85C410 LS2212), in the hope that someone can enlighten me a bit about it and for what the 2nd control rod (picture 2, I point with finger on it) is thought because it only leads out of the back of the engine and at the end is a ball as a handle on it.
