Route recommendation in the south (Bayern->Austria/Switzerland->Italy->France)
Hi, I’m looking for a serpentine-rich route to the south. Since the gentlemen car drivers show quite little interest in beautiful winding routes I would rather ask those who have the most knowledge ;-), the motorcyclists. How beautiful Europe can be far away from motorways, I discovered only last year. After I accidentally found the Col de Turini, I was totally thrilled at Peira Cava 4/5 hours, until I had neck muscles he went back to my parents to Saint Tropez. It doesn’t have to be something like that, but I would like something in the direction 😉 I wish I had a tour “”somehow”” through Bavaria/ Switzerland/ Austria / Italy with a crowning final destination Nice, where I would travel the route from the Ruhr area to Bavaria by motorway and then very, very much like to spend 3 to 4 days with small stops in hotels / guesthouses in the mountains / at lakes. I drive for the time a small n Audi, which I would like to use again on small, serpentine-rich pass roads. I will drive without a passenger and hope that someone can recommend me a nice route on which I can use the vehicle completely. I know the area unfortunately, unfortunately not at all. I always hear that it should be breathtakingly beautiful there… Who can give me tips? Town names in order for the MMI would suffice… Thanks in advance! As a thank you I will report – with Photos and Google Maps 😉 Joe

Garmin VS TomTom
Hello motorcycle friends, I wanted to bring some fresh wind into the navigation area with this topic, because the last post I can find from April this year is. Besides, I always find only forum entries with a few info snippets. I just want to refer to the devices: TomTom Rider, TomTom Urban Rider Garmin Zumo 340lm, 350lm and 390lm. Important here are the two flagships TT Rider and Zumo 390lm Have thought about a few questions, to you the A 1. How are the mounts of the two companies (are there any differences between the models?) – Do I have to buy a wide adapter to load the navigator during the journey? 2. Route guide – What happens if you overlook a waypoint? I read that these are then considered “not hit”, even if you have already come further in the route itself. – TomTom advertises with the setting “Populate Curvy Roads”. If so, how well does these settings work on the devices? – Can you change this terrible motorcycle, which is yourself on the Navi, to an arrow or something similar? (Does it really bother me 😉 ) – Has the Navi ever driven you into a wrong road?3. What is the haptic of the devices? – Does the cheap devices feel cheaper than the diuretes? – What is the readability of the display – How exactly will the egg become? 4. How long does the battery last?5. Customer service (if you have ever had experience with it) – Have there ever been problems with the Lifetime Mapupdates? etc…. And of course your opinion on the device. Would I be pleased to answer, greeting and good ride – Schmidtli 🙂

Planning USA motorcycle trip
Hi, I hope this is the right forum to get help. As you can already see in the title, I am planning a motorcycle trip in the USA. First I want to introduce myself. My name is Michael, I am 22 years old and complete my 4-year studies in the USA (Massachusetts). My intention is to drive from Massachusetts to San Francisco, sell the motorcycle there and then fly back from San Francisco to Massachusetts. I want to buy a Chopper/Cruiser machine. I have already done some research and I like the following models: Yamaha Virago, Suzuki Savage and Honda Shadow. Since my budget is limited, my limit is $2500 for the motorcycle. What do you think of the listed motorcycles? What would you suggest to me? I have already planned a rough route. (see link)http://www.imgbox.de/show/img/0D1XAU NGQY.JPG The estimate on my part looks like this: Motorcycle Value Loss on Reselling: 500$ Motorcycle Accessories: 300$ Registration and Insurance: 400$ Petrol: 300$ Nights: 600$ (I’m also ready to camp) Meals: 400$ Return flight: 250$ What do you say? Did I not take anything into account? I would be very happy about your help!

Grossglockner Hochalpenstraße
Hello guys, I wanted to take a bike tour to the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße in summer. On the page Holiday with profit I received many positive information about it. Since the high alpine road is relatively well known among bikers (as far as I know), I wanted to ask you for good hotels nearby. The thing is that we want to arrive with about 12 people and a family hotel would not be soo suitable. Therefore my question.. Knows or was someone of you already in a bikerh otel near the Großglockner? Would be cool to talk to some like-minded people and stuff.. Thank you very much for your answers. Fabi

Iran prohibits entry with motorcycles > 250 ccm
No more entry into Iran with motorcycles with more than 250 ccm! Since 02.08. a law of 2005 which has been ignored in this regard is enforced restrictively. As the Carnet department of the ADAC has just confirmed to me, it was informed in writing by official Iranian side about the new handling. ZITAT In fact, we received this notification. At the moment we are working hard to get more information. On our website we will Our Carnet customers are informed about the latest news: www.adac.de/cdp ZITAT ENDE As you read in international forums, cars over 2500 cc and space-independently all vehicles of American manufacturers are affected by the ban. This would be one of the greatest motorcycle travel countries we have ever traveled “out”. Somehow I only took back steps in terms of travel freedom recently: the attack on the Pamir Highway, the GDPR, which as a fatal side effect brought with it that e We are very grateful that on our world tour all these countries – at least in this respect without any problems – will be able to travel to the United States, which is no longer compulsory for temporary importation, Laos and Thailand, which introduced so seriously harmful rules for motorcyclists two years ago, that hardly anyone wants to go there with their own vehicle and last but not least the extremely insecure situation in Nicaragua and Venezuela. https://www.krad-vagabunden.de/tours-long-distance/world-rounding/ Greeting from the High Caucasus Panny

Insurance car rental in Morocco
Hello dear biker, my dream holiday is at the door – but the good old problem outside the EU – the insurance cover! With my insurance it is like with almost all providers that the green insurance card does not apply to Morocco. Now of course I still need insurance cover for my holiday. There is probably a border policy… here I find however no further information on the net, and even the message can not help any further – does someone have a tip? ? Then there would be the Hamburg insurance company “Tourinsure” – but here the insurance costs a whole 208 Euro for a month with a lump sum of 500,000 Euro per damage event. Unfortunately, they do not offer a full or partial cascade protection for motorcycles at all. Now better about tourinsure than without insurance – but anyway – for every conceivable tip or experience value I am happy…

Travel tarpaulins – Tips
Hi there, I’m just planning a longer tour with my bandit for the first time. Since I’ve never done this before, I’m happy about a few tips! I’d like to go from Berlin to Augsburg, then further to Freiburg, and down to Bologna. And at the end everything is back again. What’s hard for me, lack of experience, is to plan the stages. On the one hand, I want to arrive at the finish line sometime, on the other hand, I don’t have a buck to drive on my naked 8 hours at piece 130 on the AB. How do I do this? Do you? Only country road? AB shares? How many km a day do you take? Does everything work out for the total length of the trip. Thank you for your input! Greetings Domme

Navigon Cruiser will be discontinued! No longer to buy!!!
If you were looking for a suitable Navi solution for your iPhone, you could find it at Navigon last year: Navigon Cruiser is the name of the solution. I followed up on it and bought the app three weeks ago (suitably for the start of the season). €59.99 for unlimited use. That makes me feel safe. But far from it! Navigon announced two weeks after my purchase that the further development and update of the app will be stopped. (https://www.navigon.com) B ereits purchased software can be used for another two years, then it’s finally over! Unlimited use by reason of the fact! Nix als Verrar.. ung! (To the lawyers here in the forum: Is this legal at all?) Conclusion: BUY ON NO FALL.

Tour to Lake Garda
Hi people, next week (KW 16) my wife and I want to make a tour with the motorcycle to Lake Garda. Start would be near Wuppertal. The route is planned without motorway to drive with a stopover near Stuttgart. There the route planner would send us roughly along and that is then also about half of the route. I would like to take the Brenner Pass over the Alps. Who knows about this region and gives me a few recommendations? t I would like to make as short but as beautiful as possible, therefore no highway. If someone can give me a tip for the between overnight I would be very grateful. Greetings
