  • What do you think is still worth? 650i Cabrio

Sorry that I post twice, but your opinion / assessment would be really important to me. Hi, am looking for a 650i convertible from Facelift (from about 2008). Would have found one at Mobile (07-2008), great equipment, only it has already about 180000km on it. Engine seems ok, doesn’t need oil and doesn’t smoke either. General condition is quite ok, but no car like out of the showcase! Price is at 2590€. Would like to drive even in summer, between 3000-6000km per year. What do you think, what the car is worth because of the many km at all?http://suchen.mobile.de/vehicle/showDetails.html?id=211730170 For your feedback already many thanks Andy

  • 635 CSi E24 Oldtimer and racing car – purchase advice

Hello, does someone have experience with the above-mentioned model? I would like to use the vehicle mainly in motorsport (with road registration). Above all, I would like to participate in classical events, e.g. the Oldtimer-Grandprix or 24h-Classic Nürburgring. Therefore, the vehicle does not have to be in a top condition now. Painting and interior equipment are negligible (probably comes new anyway). Rather, I am interested in the technical side: Are there known weak points? What about rust prevention? Are there special years of construction that are to be preferred? The vehicle should have an H-approval, or at least soon. So it must be about 30 years old. Thus, the last model vintages fall out already already (which also optically does not agree with me as the previous model years). Does the electrical problems? I would anyway expand an existing air conditioner. I favor a variant without sliding roof, since this is a structural weak point and because it gets quite close to the head with helmet. The approx. 200 hp (depending on the variant) are quite suitable for me, however.

  • 740xd F01 – or 750i xdrive?

After the new/current A8 is rather an ugly duckling and the 7 is now for the first time more beautiful I consider the change to a used 740xd or a 750ixdrive. Both would be one of the 1st – with less than 100tkm. Are there basically known problems with both cars/engines – susceptibility? Running performance should then be over 200t and not every few months a workshop stay. Basically it is more about comfort than sportiness. (The main reason for the 7s is the appearance. A8 and S-Class fail due to the design) The A8 has been a few problems that have not really been fixed until today and there has often been trouble with the car connected with expensive workshop stays. The 750er should be clearly above the A8 due to consumption (currently 14l in average for a lot of city share) – so that it does not justify the cheaper purchase price for long. How difficult is it to retrofit an AHK? – is there a manual here somewhere? Is there with BMW a diagnostic system similar to VCDS with Audi?

  • What do you pay attention to when buying a new 645ci alternator?

Hello, I think that the Lima of my 645ci gives up so slowly the mind. I observed the following: If I run the car longer in stand / P or at the lowest speed, and then all the ECUs that are available, also battery message comes.. , therefore, it goes out that the battery is not charged at low speed… But if I on the highway drive then everything is ok. I do not know if you can only change the controller, or if I have to replace the Lima completely. Habne 110Ah battery in it. If I have to replace the Lima completely, what should I pay attention to when buying? The old part number 12 31 7 525 440 and the new one is 12 31 7 540 992 For advice I would be very grateful. Mfg

  • Goodbye/Obituary 650i F12

My 650i F12 EZ 3/2011 goes back to the dealer. (Leasing end) Beginning of June 2012. We had 27 nice months and about 35,000km together. Calculated the car on average 11.78l V Power Shell consumed fuel on 100km and a total of 2l engine oil. Hut off, because there were fast highway stages and some tracks. He always jumped and never let me down. Just a BMW(joy driving!) There was over the whole This was done after two days with my friend to my complete satisfaction! No problems with the electronics or the roof. I am a bit sad and hope the successor (M3 F80 ordered from spring 2015 today) makes me just as much fun and will be so incredibly reliable. Thank you for the friendly suggestions and advice here in the forum. I always felt quite comfortable here. driving with these beautiful cars. 6 cylinder drivers included!(laughs) Bye-bye Greeting Wilfried

  • Who greets whom, when and why or not?

Yesterday, on May 1st, I was on my way with my 6 (E64) and that with the aim to start a vintage car meeting – it was nice. I park my car there at the side of the road and when I get off a 6 coupe with Frankfurt license plate drives past me….., we looked at each other and greeted each other at the same time – I found it really good……? In the motorcycle scene this is normal and come to meet Harley, the greeting of course takes place with even more passion 😉 I know the greetings also From the Dodge and Chrysler scene, you also greet yourself…. How do you see that with our 6s, 7s or 8s BMWs?No no, I didn’t have such thoughts with my former business cars. There you always had the latest, strong and of course with full equipment…, but that thought didn’t come to greet other leased company cars of the same series….

  • PDC exits while driving (warning)

Hello community, have already read many amounts about PDC problems, but I didn’t really get smart about it. I hope you can help me, or that we can come to a solution together. With me, the PDC on my BMW 630 Bj 2007 sporadically goes on and off. Quite often it is that when I start the car everything works wonderful and while driving, although PDC should not work at all, comes the error message that PDC has failed. Partially the parking system works I turn off the car and the next day it usually works again immediately. However, the problem is not fixed with every start of the engine. Sometimes it also happens that when I start the engine immediately the error message comes with the PDC, but e.g. when driving backwards immediately is gone. I had the error memory read out, then the message came: “9E3B ultrasonic sensor supply” If PDC is equipped with The monitor still shows the car and the PDC LED flashes on the button. I measured, but the PDC control unit gets voltage even if the system does not work. The sensors would have to be all in order, because everyone shows without problems what and otherwise also in the error memory what should be. My guess lies with the PDC control unit or probably on the supply line to the sensors (hi or vo), that there may be a cable break. But I am not Is it possible to measure the cables to the sensors individually without removing the bumpers so as to at least limit the error? Does anyone already have experience with defective ECUs, how the PDC system behaves then? Would be very grateful for any information.
