With me is a new vehicle purchase and I ask now the question whether I should get a diesel or petroler. A way to work is 11km via highway only 50 and 70 km/h zones, driving time about 15min. Otherwise I drive also only shorter distances (in the neighboring place to the parents, shopping etc…) län My driving performance per year is therefore estimated to be below or just over 10,000km. When looking at vehicles, a dealer told me that it is no longer so problemmatic to drive short distances with a diesel. But did he also say that you should be on the road a little longer on a regular basis or that you should bring the car to higher temperatures on the motorway for a little longer time? Is that true? Could I do that? I don’t think much more about getting a diesel? Or would you rather put it on a petrol truck or maybe one with LPG?

Hello, I have the impression that at about E50 my TSI is off work, after about 80 km the MKL comes over it. Have the test times deleted, but came back after 50 km. Lamda still fits. The question is: does the error cause something to the engine control? Otherwise the engine runs like usual: slightly tilted idle, rougher running noise while accelerating and feels a bit rutty acceleration (as if always controlled by the control unit), otherwise everything is ok. what kind of fuel to fuel or to add more gasoline to the next tank? Or can you basically ignore the lamp because Lamda and exhaust gas temperature are ok? Thank you.

Petroleum-Benzine mixture o.O.
Hello, I have seen a video where at least the engine of a lawnmower ran on pure (!) kerosene. Kerosene is basically kerosene without certain additives. So far so good. Unfortunately there is nothing about the octane number of kerosene in the net. Does not need a turbine either. My Astra F has driven with a diesel petrol mixture and that without any problems. (Only in absolute cold run still a bit at the stall) There is no information about the exact mixture. The engine has a compression of 10.0:1 and can tolerate even 91 octan officially. Furthermore, petroleum is very degreasing and should condense on the cylinder wall at cold engine temperatures and influence the lubricating film. My questions about petroleum: -100% is out of the question, because of other calorific value, strongly degreasing and hardly knock-resistant (only unknown, how much) -80% Petroleum/20% Petrol hardly becomes an Unt -50% Petroleum/50% Petrol – how could it behave at operating temperature and full speed? -30% Petroleum/70% Petrol – better? Please no comments like “Puff explosion ready” or too pessimistic and optimistic comments. I know it would run without any problems with little load. I just don’t plan to sacrifice an engine for it right away to find out what happened at Vollast. Anyway, he survived the diesel fantastically without measurable wear – was but only one full tank! Has anyone ever had any experience with it?

Hey you guys, a general question: would you buy a diesel now? So a new one, or a young used one. I’m about to decide on the car purchase in the fall and am a long-distance driver, so the question is whether a diesel is still worth it at the moment or whether it would be nonsense to buy a diesel now. Experience with/opinions on “Plantanol diesel”

When/How/Where/Why Co 2 tax?!
Hello, I just read that in early 2009 the Co 2 tax should come. Somehow I found at the google nix exact about it. Can it be that there are no exact designs for it yet?! Where can I find a hint how much Co2 my car consumes, or how it is then classified later. In a table you could see that diesel drivers, well noted with PF have a big advantage over the PS equally strong gasoline engines, because they have a smaller Co2 We That can’t be true, can it?! E85 control units with lambda probe measurement for mixing detection
Hello, how is this supposed to work if various manufacturers of E85 control units claim that they can disgnose the mixture by means of Lambdasone? At my W124 500E, for example, I only have an older narrowband probe, as most vehicles, to my knowledge, still have today. Is the Humbug or funzt dat? – Best control unit for my V8 ??? 🙂

Renault Megane 1.6 16V BJ 2007 with ethanol
Hello guys, I used to drive a Renault Twingo with E85 and have had good experience with the Schwedenbox AutoX4. Unfortunately I was separated from this ingenious mobile after a painful battle in the stowage. Now I drive a Renault Megane 1.6 16V Grandtour. It was built at the end of 2006 and has 110 hp. A little later (March 2008) the model with modified engine for E85 came on the market (see http://www.autosieger.de/article14463.html). In 2006 I also started attempts to drive with E85. In addition, I increased the dose and monitored the ECU with the notebook. It also runs very well with E85. However, the consumption with 9.4 – 10.6 liters E85 is unusually high. With Super I used a little 6,8 – 7,4 liters. This makes an additional consumption of 40% and E85 relatively unattractive, since still starting difficulties (3-4 attempts) are added. What prevented me so far from installing the box at the Megane was that the Meggi measures the fuel consumption over the injection times and moves accordingly also the tank needle. That means that the data after installation will no longer be correct and the tank will be empty before the needle will move into the area of the reserve.
