Hello together, I have a question about the charging function of i8 or possibly similar i3. Is it possible to switch the charging on and off via the app? Background is the following: I have a photovoltaic system on the roof and would like to switch the charging on and off again via the app at certain times. There will be a wallbox with corresponding function in the future, but until then I have to solve it somehow differently. Therefore my question: is this somehow via the app or eventuel l also possible with the display key? A friend recommended me a socket with smart home function. Of course would be an option, but more elegant would be of course to control it directly from the car.

BMW iPerformance Hybrid Vehicles
Hello everybody. It’s nice that we BMW Hybrid drivers now have their own forum. I’ll start with: BMW 530e, M-package, registration 11/2017 almost 13 tkm so far, of which approx. 4300 km electric driven. I load at home at the “10 A brick and if it turns out to be on the road or at the destination. I don’t really fit 100% into the e-bike profile, but I’m convinced of the concept and I love driving the 530e. LG Pit

Price BMW I8
Hello people, who knows about it and can contribute constructive messages? Why does the bmw I8 keep so good in price? Sometimes seriously admission numbers are as low as never before and from the beginning stood firm the I8 is actually not worth its money. Processing in the interior and a real athlete it is not. Technical innovations I see compared to Tesla at the I8 also not so please how do the prices come to such prices? Currently cheaper at mobile.de 89,000€ mi t 120,000km running ?! Who buys such garbage ? Have already driven the I8 itself, of course the part Mega and for all BMW fanboys a must! But well for the money ?!

BMW X5 xDrive 45E, or Jaguar F-Pace P400e
Hello people I am currently driving a Mazda CX60 and am absolutely unhappy with this car. I would like to return it as soon as possible and am therefore looking for a new PHEV. Briefly to my driving profile. I drive daily (Mo – Sa) 26,6 to work, then 2 to 3 hours after arrival about 5km to the bank and back and evening 26,6km to home. I arrive at work around 8am and leave around 7pm. I want to load the car only at work, and if possible only with So Here are a total of 40kwP solar on the roof and there is a surplus charging wallbox. My basic load – i.e. the permanent power consumption of the shop is between 4 and 7 kw/h, so the PV supplies enough for the car (at least in the summer). Now I consider the above mentioned vehicles (Jaguar F Pace (2024 model) and BMW X5) for the only cars that can be considered with regard to range and a price that does not exceed 100,000€. Mercedes is out (C class and GLC might also be in question) because I don’t find the interior beautiful, or borderline ugly. Volvo and Toyota are out because of the speed limit of 180km/h. So now I’m floating between BMW X5 and Jaguar F Pace. I have advantages and disadvantages with both cars and I’m not sure what outweighs where. I’d like to drive both cars just a week’s trial – but I can’t find a car rental association that can do something like this. glicht – because the cars are not available. How are your experiences with the cars? What would you buy in my place, and why?

Mobility Connect – Do you really need this?
At the moment, I have booked Telekom’s Mobility Connect option, but I think about changing the provider because it saves a lot of money. However, the Mobility Connect option only exists in connection with a Telekom contract. M.W. is the advantage of Mobilty Connect only in that I use the eSim and thus “communicate” via the external antenna. Hasn’t anyone ever booked this option here with what experiences?

iDrive 8 – Hide recommendations for shortcuts
A nice good evening, I’m setting up the iDrive of my iX1, and wondering if you can hide the recommendations for shortcuts that are displayed when you wipe from top to bottom on the screen? I’ve already occupied all four positions for the shortcuts individually, but still get the recommendations constantly displayed at the bottom. I wouldn’t like to see them anymore and keep them clearer. Does anyone have a tip?

BMW i1, i2, i?
Next to MINI there was the idea of the concept “ACEMAN” in the summer A study, similar dimensions as once the Crossover Concept (2008, harbinger of Countryman I) ! Currently the suitable Erlkönig has just been caught to the ACEMAN !https://www.motor-talk.de/…/mini-aceman-premiere-27jul-t7318594.html Question for here: What makes BMW itself out of this scarce 4m format, resp. which platform uses it in the group and wants to be further diversified as BEV: i1, i2, i? PS: The next Cou ntryman (III) is all the bigger and even the longest on the road as Erlkönig. The BMW (i)X1 technology and platform can already be seen…https://www.motor-talk.de/…/countryman-successor-2023-t7181885.html

What topics come into this BMW Elektro Forum?
Hello to the forum, we renamed this area in April 2018 and opened it for further discussions. Until then, this forum was exclusively about models of the BMW i series. However, as drivers of BMW hybrid models have also shown need for an area away from the normal model forums and the technology of the models is partly related, we decided to also allow discussions here about cars such as 225xe, 330e, 530e, 740e, or other models with BMW eDrive. Go If you have questions about the hybrid drivetrain, which is partly used in several models, then here is the place to discuss with other hybrid drivers and electric car enthusiasts. Questions about charging possibilities, wall box, electric mobility at BMW, or something similar can also be discussed here. If you have a question that concerns the model more generally and do not want to discuss in a small circle, then you are better off in the respective model forum. our mods and godparents like to move you further and possibly also a topic on request. Many greetings from the workshop

2 AT or X1 PHEV?
Hello together We were able to test the new 2 Series Active Tourer (Benziner) as well as the now replaced X1er plug in hybrid on the weekend. We are very pleased with the new BMW operating concept and are seriously concerned with the purchase of such a one – however the question is which. Motorization would clearly be the plug in hybrid. My wife drives every day short distance (10km), to shop once a day after work. Larger trips at most on the weekend, but maximum so 200 km, rather ?100-150 km. I like the new X1 very well from the outside. However, my wife prefers the Active Tourer. Since the new X1 plug in hybrid is not yet configurable and the dealer does not yet know the price (he estimates that the base would be about 5k more expensive than the AT), we still wait. In my view, the AT and X1 do not take much from the dimensions. The X1 is just e We will lease the vehicle and, if you like, after the lease period. Therefore, we expect a bit more generous from the space. At the moment, we are still childless, but would like the car to be tradable with a child. Nice to have if it was even suitable for 2 children. What do you think, is it X1 massively larger than the AT and the surcharge value? Which equipment line and packages would you recommend at BMW? We were bisla ng no BMW customers. Looking forward to your opinions 🙂

BMW i….Route planning
In addition to the autonomy of an electric car and a good charging infrastructure, efficient route planning is the A&O so that e-mobility prevails. About the numbers, which autonomy a car needs and how much charging stations are necessary one can argue, and there is probably no absolute truth. Of course, this depends heavily on the way of use of the car. I have now driven with my iX3 5000 km across Europe and am satisfied with the autonomy of +400km. tz is sufficient for the current e-car. However, what is very poorly solved in the iX3 is the route planning and the rest autonomy indicator. I expect that during the route planning I get suggestions for charging stops with charging time. That the precise enough is feasible can be seen with foreign apps (e.g. ABRP). The route profile is stored on each map and the individual drive handle also recognizes the car very quickly. It would even satisfy me at the present stage, For example, if I could use ABRP on the central screen until BMW opened up. Do I see this wrong? At present, I do my route planning at home on the computer and find out the suitable charging stations in the BMW Charging app to keep an eye on the costs. That’s as if I were still planning my routes with the shell atlas.
